Awesome results!

Just had another mastectomy on 10/27/15 and a revision of the previous mastectomy so other than walking and body squats, I'm pretty much out of the game for awhile. I feel like I could do more but learned the hard way that to start too hard, too early ends up working against me. So, except for eating clean, I'm just…

Ahhh, so sorry to hear about this Alison. Stay strong!

I'm still progressing, strength-wise, with my weight training and have been able to keep up my mileage on my road bike. Unfortunately, I have another mastectomy scheduled for a week from Tuesday, and that will put me back a ways...right at the start of the eating season (Halloween through Christmas). Oh well, I bounced…

I started back into weight training about two months after my surgery and half-way through my radiation treatments. Unfortunately, I was a little aggressive on the TRX and ended up with a seroma that had to be aspirated a couple of times. I waited a full two more months before doing anything "chest" related. I did find…

Breast Cancer diagnosed in December 2014. Had a mastectomy in January, 2015 which revealed more cancer, so went on to 36 sessions of radiation. Luckily my oncotype revealed that chemo wouldn't be helpful for me. I'm due to have another mastectomy next month (Oct. 2015) and I continue hormone therapy which is playing havoc…

I've been using TRX training since 2001 and although you can just google "TRX Suspension training" I'd start with TRXtraining.com. Remember, the angle of the suspension strap will determine how easy or difficult the exercise will be.

I've taught fitness classes since 1997 and have always gone commando. As someone else mentioned, quality workout gear have either chamois (for Cycle classes) or cotton crotches just for that reason. Just a side note. I was teaching a class a long time ago in a room that had black lights and luckily, looked down shortly…

Exactly! To the misinformed carbs are equal to sweets, bread and pasta. Educate yourselves people! Vegetables and whole grains are mostly carbohydrates.

Enjoy that comment! Good for you!

Raspberries, Barley, Beans...good stuff like that !

Amazing work! And you look amazing too! Congratulations on your journey and continued success on being healthy.

3 pound weight loss is phenomenal? Eliminating a key macronutrient is never a good idea. Research what actual benefit carbohydrates have for your health. Pub Med can be a good start.

It's me.

So, what will the name of your group be? Looks like there are plenty of people to join and encourage!

I'm 61 and female, but think consistent weight-training has kept my muscle mass although I agree with the chance of injury increasing with age. I also deal with osteoarthritis in my thumbs and shoulders which means changing how I do weight training, but not necessarily decreasing the amount of weight.

Hmmmm...fruits and vegetables didn't grow naturally? I don't believe primitive peoples were able to catch and kill large amounts of animals either... . . .

I'm 5'1" and have always had an athletic build, keeping my BF at the lower end of 20%-24%. I find my BF changing somewhat now that I'm 61 and although I've always weight-trained (I'm a personal trainer for the last 14 years), I have to pay more attention to my diet now to keep my muscle. I weigh 122-124 and am not, and…

I like to tell my clients (I'm a Personal Trainer) that weight- training is KEY to changes in your body! Weight training is like shrink- wrapping your body in that you become much tighter. This is a change (along with a proper diet) that will happen much faster than simply dieting and cardio alone. I'm 5'1" and my body's…

Looks like a beautiful area and congratulations on your accomplishments. You look great!

I've been a certified personal trainer since 2001 and when I start with a new client I ALWAYS tell them that I'll supply the tools and as much motivation as I can, but the real work will always have to come from them. Over the years I've had many clients that just didn't want "it" as much as I wanted "it" for them, but…

gotta share this....

This is totally true!

If you have a dietician I would think this would be a question for them since they ARE the professional.

I love lamb and have eaten it since I was a child. Goat is something I just recently tried and I really liked that as well, but then I was raised by an adventurous set of parents and often ate moose, venison, pheasant, reindeer, beef tongue, octopus, blood sausage, oxtail soup just to name a few of the things I've tried…

Awesome.
