The spreadsheet has been corrected, and I realise I knocked 2 people off the podium for week 1! @IanMoone30 and @tfs27 should have been joint 3rd. So sorry, you guys *need a blushing emoji on mfp*

Jan week 2 PW 245.6 CW 241.4 I messed up last week translating stones to lbs and put my weight as 235.6 (14 times table is not my strong point). I didnt realise until a couple of days ago when I accidentally found the week 1 results thread (craigo’s notification had got buried by Slimsons notifications) and saw everyone…

Hi @craigo3154 Sorry- I’m so embarrassed but I messed up translating from stones to lbs when I gave my week 1 weight. I only just found this page so didn’t realise. I was 17st 10lbs on 30th Dec (248lbs) and 17st 7.6lbs on 6th Jan (245.6lbs, not 235.6lbs). Sorry it took me so long to catch my mistake. *hands back sash to be…

Rosy67 Jan week 1 Today’s weight 235.6
-
Hi @craigo3154 please can you correct my starting weight to 248.0 (sat 30th Dec)?
-
Me too! I’ve just returned to MFP as tracking (carbs not calories- works best for me) keeps me accountable. I lost more than a stone earlier in the year but put it back on since September- work related stress

Thanks Christina. I've organised a challenge like this before, and its very time consuming. And incredibly well done to Not2late and Underconstruct- crazy good weight loss! Well done everyone, in fact x

I'm with you- the white wine version! Its the end of the working week, my brain says 'You deserve a treat'. The fact that the treat kills off my brain cells, gives me fatty liver and insulin resistance and increases my chance of developing dementia as well as liver, throat, mouth and breast cancer.... I can only assume the…

New safe alcohol limits for the UK announced today by the chief medical officer- and they've reduced the limit for men to 14 units, the same as women (=1.5 bottles of wine per week). I have to admit to feeling smug for once, since I'm on the wagon, as opposed to way over the safe limit for women, men and elephants…

Ha! I hadn't thought of associating Cameron with alcohol to make it an aversive stimulus. Brilliant.

Day 4 done. Surprised how little I'm missing it. I usually have a glass of wine with my friend on Tuesdays after choir and I'm mentally practising 'Not for me thanks- i'm not drinking in January' before tomorrow ;)

Actually, you've made me think, Laurence. I've put lime or lemon in it before, but I could experiment with other fruit, and maybe even herbs (mint and raspberry?) and spices (ginger?). Now its starting to sound like a cold version of those weird teas you can get, which I have yet to develop a taste for lol

Hi Everyone I'm Ros, I'm 48 years old and 5'7" tall. I live in Sheffield, UK, I'm married and I have 3 not-so-small kids (aged 21, 19 and 13). Current weight 245lbs, heaviest ever 248lbs (in September 2015). Goal weight- I'd be delighted to be 11st 10lbs again (164lbs) which I was when I got married 22 years ago, even…

Here we go- I created a group. Let me know if you have any problems finding it https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/110832-fit-by-fifty I've made it public for now, but that's up for review if people would prefer the content to be private. Let me know. Ros x

Lovely to hear from you all! I guess there is some enthusiasm for supporting each other as we approach this milestone. Amy- I'm totally with you on the consistent exercise and alcohol tripwires :/ Marie- Grrr. I hate that. You try so hard, take your eye off the ball for 2 seconds and before you know it, it's all undone.…

Its one of the things that I find tricky- I don't mind water, especially fizzy, but it does get boring. And I don't want to swap a water-with-alcohol-in habit for a water-with-sugar/artificial-sweetners-in habit! Its amazing how much money you can spend on sugary water in a supermarket :/

I'm in. I drink far too much and if I want to lose the weight, alcohol has to go. I've tried moderation, but stopping completely is easier for me- I usually do it every January. This year, I'm aiming to stay dry at least until my birthday at the end of Feb. It was novel to wake on New Years Day without a hangover! Lets go…

I'd like to join too

I'm on the Sheffield/Barnsley border. Happy New Year, Everyone x

Hi Everyone! I'm Ros, from Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK. I'm 46, married with 3 kids and have a stressful job in mental health. And when under stress, I drink too much, eat too much, don't find time to exercise and don't sleep enough, which explains how I got into this state- quarter of a century of hard yo-yo-ing. This year…

Great idea! I've got back off holiday at my highest weight ever, but the kids went back to school today so I have some time to concentrate on me. And I'm definitely going to change my ticker to the phase goals- much less depressing! Current weight/ highest weight: 239lbs Goal weight: 145lbs Total to lose: 94 lbs Phase One…

Just what I need to get me back on track! Start weight for September: 239 lbs Target weight for end of September: 230lbs Challenge: bodyweight exercise 3 times a week- as per Mark Lauren's Body By You Hey ho, here we go

Workouts are 20 minutes in cycle 1 (at least 1st 4 weeks), then 20 or 30 after that depending on how many sets you have to do that day (4 exercises per day, 2 or 3 mins per set, 2 or 3 sets). Anywhere in the house yes, toddler yes, but rickety doors hmmm- look at how many screws your door hinges have got, as your body…

I think it would definitely be worth a try. Wet Noodles R Us! The only downside I can think of is that if your hands give you gyp, you may find it a bit uncomfortable at first. Just thinking, because I was actually quite grateful I wasn't starting on pushups against a wall- it bent my wrist back so much. I'm fine clutching…

I just did the evaluation for Body By You to see where I need to start- no surprises- nearly at the bottom! I'm going to call it T Rex level (huge creature, massive bodyweight, itty bitty arms- think Rex from Toy Story). Aching already, but feeling GOOD!
-
I feel your pain, and I think you've put your finger on the problem right there. Join the club

Oh my heaven. I hurt- just after doing half the evaluation this morning! Feels great though  So my baseline results: Pulling- very scary as I don't trust my door hinges to hold my weight, so I ended up having to improvise with a towel around one of the struts of my stepper machine. Copped out on exercise 3 after 3…
