  • Fast foods, pizza, pasta, candy, desserts (unless they are sugar and mostly carb free, pop, even diet pop is bad. Basically I go low carb, high protein and drink plenty of water and I've lost 91 pounds in just under 2 months. Best wishes for success on your journey.
  • Put a little vinegar in the water with the eggs, works every time. Also they make a device that will peel them for you perfectly. They are available at most kitchen stores.
  • I have a good many PVCs due to having heart failure. So I can totally relate. I will check the page out on FB. :-)
  • I've gone from 3XL shorts to 2XL, I'm VERY happy about that! :D
  • 84.5 pounds lighter and my joint pain has decreased greatly.
  • Too much protein can be bad for your kidneys as they will store extra protein and so you need to drink plenty of water to keep the extra flushed out of you. I've done a very high protein diet for a while now and that's the one thing my doctors constantly warn me of is to drink plenty of water to flush out the extra protein…
  • I want my bff to look at me and think I'm completely adorable and attractive.
  • Skull Candy, sound as good or better than Bose and won't break the bank.
  • I'm 6'2.5 and my ideal weight is 280. Once I get to 280, I will decide if I want to drop any more. I began at 428.5, currently at 376
  • Not just diet coke but all pop, period. There are so many dangerous chemicals in that stuff that in the long term will do horrible things to your body. My cardiologist took me off ALL pop and I feel amazing. More energy, better skin, less belching. My wife did get me some diet 7-Up today as I am sick and my PCP advised it…
  • And Chopped too...
  • You can do this and we are all here to encourage and support you. I started out at my highest weight of 428.5 and after the first month I am down to 376. Sure men lose weight faster but even if it's just a pound you can do it. I've lived with depression, if you haven't already, see a doctor, get on a decent med, don't be…
  • I say yes and no. Obviously the main component in Crystal Light or Iced Tea is water, but in my weight loss clinic, while we are permitted to drink those, they want us drinking 3/4 of our daily water intake as pure water, in other words not mixed with anything. This is no problem for me, I love water, but some people who…
  • About 10,000 people I've told so far that I'm on a weight loss journey. No I don't actually know 10,000 people but I do have a blog that gets about 10,000 hits a month and I blog all about this journey.
  • A lot of avoiding boredom eating comes from will power and self control. Therefore it won't be easy. I used to do just that as part of my eating disorder, but I've learned that just because I'm bored doesn't mean I have to eat.
  • Quite honestly MFP is wrong on this one. As I've stated before, I'm in a medical weight loss clinic and they do NOT want us eating back calories we've burned. Ive never done it and I never will.
  • Here's a link to their nursing program. I've been a patient there a few times and WVU trained nurses are among the best in my view. http://nursing.hsc.wvu.edu/Pages
  • Born and raised a Mountaineer. WVU is a amazing school with ample educational, social and career opportunities, nestled in the small city of Morgantown. Their hospital boasts a level one trauma center rating among other things and their doctors walk away with an awesome education. I grew up just 6 miles from main campus so…
  • Thunderstruck - AC/DC But don't make me mad or it will be "Dirty Deeds" lol jk
  • I read through it, not impressed. he's not a medical doctor, it's not written well, he doesn't cite his sources at all and I'm pretty sure my endocrinologist would disagree with some things in the article and since he is one of the best in the nation and a medical doctor, I'll follow his advice.
  • Once per week at my official weigh in.
  • I enrolled in the Medical Weight Loss Program at McConnell Heart Health Center in Columbus, OH. Insurance doesn't cover it, but that's okay. It's so totally worth it. To be able to be monitored by doctors, dieticians, behaviorists and exercise physiologists who are supportive and encouraging is amazing.
  • Ugg, the fact that I fee no one notices or will notice my weight loss, including myself.
  • It honestly depends how I feel. Usually I'll go hot and then do a cool off at the end. And you're not nosy, great question
  • Too much protein from powders/shakes can damage the kidneys which is why it's vital to drink those 8 glasses of water to keep the excess flushed out of you. I learned this through my medical weight loss clinic.
  • While not everyone knows everything about me, there is always at least one person who does, (my wife) therefore I have no creative answer. I'm a very transparent person and I share everything with my wife. Most people don't have a clue that I would LOVE to go to Mortuary School.
  • Sometime after dinner and before bed have a light snack. Fruit is an excellent choice as it has fiber and helps you feel full. Also make sure you are drinking your 8 glasses of pure water each day. I say pure as in "straight" not tea or crystal light or anything like that. I've just learned to ignore feeling hungry if I've…
  • I'm obviously not a woman, so forgive my intrusion, but I do have a PCOS story to share with you. My wife has PCOS or I should say HAD PCOS for many years. In late August 2009 her bleeding became so bad that there was nothing she could do to stop it. We went to the doctor who explained our options after numerous exams and…
  • LOL yep, me too! The first device I had was a pager. I was 24 when I got my first real cell phone. It only had regional calling availability and ran on 4 AA batteries. The company no longer exists. I'm 36 now and have been with Verizon Wireless for 7.5 years, I don't know what number phone I'm on though, lol
  • So far I've lost 52.5 pounds and I have 96 pounds to go until my ideal weight of 280. I'm taking it moment by moment, one day at a time.
