  • I meant to type “add me to Carrot”. I have no friends on it either!
  • I don’t have an answer, but I just going through this yesterday with my Goodnorth tub! *following*
  • Get the car seat and crib - if you get doubles (of those items or anything else) just return the item you bought and exchange for other essentials or wants. Nobody will be the wiser.
  • Yep! Happens all the time. My chiropractor does active release on it (not adjustments) and gave me some stretches. Worked like a charm.
  • I hear ya! I get 25g+ of fibre, drink my water, but what helps me the most is vitamin c. I am for over 100% of my recommended daily intake, but sometimes if I'm feeling backed up, I have some extra vitamin c and water before bed and that helps. My naturopath recommended that as vitamin c brings water into the bowels. I…
  • One of the best things I ever did was throw a part where I cooked for 150 people (talk about learning to prep!). As a result, I had a bunch of leftovers, one of which was grilled chicken. I bought something like 60 free range chicken breasts from my butcher (got a good price as they gave me a "bulk" price), marinated them…
  • When I eat smaller meals/snacking more frequently, I find I'm always in a state of hunger/thinking about food all day and into the night. If I eat a big breakfast with carbs, fats, and proteins, I can make it to early afternoon before really being hungry for lunch. For example, I had a big brown rice and beans bowl with…
  • I hit 30 grams of fibre pretty regularly without a supplement eating 1600-1800 calories a day (and my humble opinion, I'm eating pretty tasty stuff). That's through grains, roughage/veggies, legumes. I think I could hit more if my tummy wasn't sensitive to fruits like apples. But for those with higher daily caloric…
  • Mine is open - I'm in a big slow cooking phase right now.
  • I've been trying to get my spinach in small doses (a little hard to track, but that's OK, I'm mostly tracking for my pre-natal micros anyways). Today I chopped some up and threw it in my split pea and lentil soup before I heated it up. At dinner I did the same with my fiesta chicken and lime rice. I had some on an avocado…
  • Mmmm brussel sprouts. Lately I've been dicing them (like cabbage for salad) and sautéing them with some garlic and a splash of lemon to finish, or sometimes really high quality balsamic. I love them roasted, too.
  • Just be careful with your a) balance i.e. walking lunges and b) pushing/straining the core and pelvic area i.e. squats. I'm also pregnant and was told "now is not the time to try to increase your strength, but maintain what you have", so make sure you aren't increasing your weight load. Makes sense, given we want all our…
  • I spend the money to buy Bobs Red Mill organic, only because I find I don't need to rinse it. I second the greek salad variation - I have been eating it almost daily! Sometimes on a bed of romaine for some extra roughage. Also try googling some quinoa salad recipes with cranberries. My second favourite is one made with…
  • I wonder if one is measured from dry, and the other from prepared?
  • Rice crackers (not the artificially flavoured ones, but good old sea salt or plain) with a smear of goat cheese (aka chevre) and a slice of radish.
  • Are you looking too much into it? At my normal weight of 115 (currently pregnant) I can fluctuate 3 or 4 pounds a day depending on diet, water retention, etc.
  • Skinny Buffalo Chicken dip in the slow cooker - replacing the sour cream with goat yogurt though.
  • Same with me. I'm on day 1 of mine, and couldn't get through my leg/glutes circuit. I find on my 2 heaviest days, working out doesn't make me feel better (then again nothing but Midol makes me feel better), but on my lighter days exercise does help and I'm not as weak. I just try to eat a bit cleaner the days I'm off, and…
  • Have you read the clear skin diet? Promotes a similar way of eating. Although I recommend reading it with a critical eye as it does promote supplements. It is supported by Genuine Health, a company whose products I love, but I didn't find I needed additional products when I was eating well.
  • Also make sure you're drinking lots of water - if you're increasing the amount of fibre in your diet quickly, it can mess with your movements.

  • I'm allergic, too! And there is only so much oatmeal a girl can eat. One of my fav breakfasts is inspired by Costa Rica: rice and beans. My latest kick is Chok though ... not meant to be a breakfast food, but I love it in the morning. It's a rice porridge, and I add shredded chicken, ginger, soy sauce and chili sauce for…
  • Oh ya, you're not crazy at all. It's happened to me in yoga, during a run, etc. Like an unexpected emotional detox!!
  • All I can tell you is don't try to force yourself to eat something just because it's "healthy". Pick the fruits and veggies you DO like and start there. Eventually your tastes will change as you develop better habits. For example, I tried to make oatmeal for my breakfasts, and I just ended up resenting it and going back to…
  • I second that! Beautiful in both pics, and I loved your dress!
  • I hear ya on the Greens+. I've been on again/off again for years with it, just because I don't overly enjoy it. However I do find the line that has protein AND greens together isn't as bad. I think it's called transform+. It's Vanilla flavoured, so mix it with coconut water (not the stuff in the can, but the box i.e.…
  • Sometimes it could just be the scale being wonky. I thought I had gained 5 lbs, and the same day my hubby said the scale showed him as 5 lbs heavier too (but on a different scale, he checked in at his normal weight).
  • I like seeing newbies, too! I feel so excited for them, and a little empathetic as it must be a bit scary. I always wipe down machines before and after anyways, and if someone is blocking a machine a simple "excuse me, do you mind if I squeeze in there" usually suffices. I don't think most people are being inconsiderate on…
  • Height 5'2" Age = 32 SW = 118 CW = 115 GW = 110 & Muscles :)
  • Oh and if you like mexican, you can pretty much do the same thing with your favourite ingredients, just sub zuchini for the shell. They are really good with shredded chicken and enchilada sauce or salsa.
