New Rules of Lifting for Women. . . it is great. Read carefully, it is rather in depth, but great info. You may also want to have a personal trainer for a week or two, just to get you more comfortable in the gym and learn the equipment. Then you can always go off on your own. Good luck!

I know this might be lost in the page after page of responses in this thread (which shows how inspiring and informative it is), but have you ever considered publishing? I bet if you sent anything like this to a magazine (or on-line journal, maybe Huffington Post) that you would be in high demand. Of course you'd have to be…

You don't have to hope, it definitely will. Whatever you are helping someone with, you can actually relate because you've BEEN there, you've worked through hard times, and you have become better for it (weight loss is just one of the many issues and journeys that people deal with in life, the lessons learned can be taken…

Hi everyone, this is my second month in the Challenge and I really enjoyed it last month. It was the first time that I joined any groups or had any other 'friends' other than my friend that had shown me the MFP site and signed up with me! I'm very busy and it's really hard to get exercise in and stick to it. .. I'm good…

Don, I respectfully request a substitution. . . I started a new fitness class last night, TRX intervals, and had NO IDEA what i got myself into. Barely walking today, but last night I did complete 100 burpees, 50 regular and 50 on the TRX ropes---those aren't no joke! (if anyone wants to know what I'm talking about, just…

OMG, this is the BEST quote I've heard! My husband is a rather elite basketball trainer and coaches travel teams. He has quite the time with some parents---basically said that same thing, along the lines of "they're mad they never got to be a starter. . ." etc.:grumble:

I always stress this one to my son, but it can apply to anything in life---hard work is what matters!! "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." Team Moltisani :glasses:

I'm sort of confused on this one. How are vegetables considered carbs? Granted there are vegetables that have a higher carb content, but the basic rule is leafy and green is the safe way---although I can see how eating 5 servings of greens might be a little over the top!!! Just as a nurse and a researcher, I sort of cringe…

Haven't checked in for sometime, saw my last post of being proud and saying that 'planning has helped me out so much with avoiding binging". . . so what do I do 3 days in a row??? I don't plan, I eat like crap and I binge like crazy on junk. I know, learn from your mistakes, but I knew what the problem was and I still let…

:flowerforyou: Thanks Don, that's a great message. Actually that makes me feel really good about it all too. I have motivation at times, but just the fun of doing something different and attempting to get it all in is fun in and of itself. Yes, it takes time, but the point is that we are all busy and finding time to work…

April 4th Me - 2 Binge - 1  It was more of a 'mini-binge', but a binge none-the-less. Have to take responsibility for it. But on the bright side, it wasn't as bad as I would have usually been and I stopped myself before I went too far. So, baby steps I guess!:ohwell:
