I'm a little late to the game here, but would love to join in. Have used MFP in the past very successfully, especially with challenges/groups, but fell off the wagon for nearly 10 months. Weight BALLOONED! And totally got out of a routine of working out. My goals for this week, with my busy working mom schedule, are to: 1…

I know I'm late to the game, but would like a group to help me get back and on track and be more active
-
I've been off MFP for way too long, lost control when not accountable to others, even if only in a virtual support group, so starting new. Me - 0 Binge - 1 :(
-
Please add! I just re-started, my 10 months away caused nothing but weight gain! Need to get back on track :s

Um, I'm still wondering why you called them 'small' NSV's. . . .those are GREAT!!!! :flowerforyou:
-
I'm with you, feel free to friend and I promise to support you and try to give you some of the things I've learned and mistakes I've made (someone needs to learn from them!!!) You CAN do it though, don't think you can't. And every success is that much sweeter because of how hard you had to work for it and how you are…

That is a GREAT attitude. . . I love it!!!

This is exactly what I mean. . . stress DOES lead to obesity. Treat STRESS then. We need to live healthier lives, it's an all-around thing, not just 'don't eat too much'. . . nothing is THAT simple.:grumble:
-
Then it is actually 'thyroid disease' not obesity as the disease. Obesity is a SYMPTOM of many underlying diseases or conditions (whether it's stress, thryoid, food addictions, or pure laziness and gluttony) but calling the actual 'obesity' the disease is missing the point. If for instance, your thyroid wasn't checked out…

I'm mixed. I think that, although it is a private issue, if an employer or the government helps to support healthy lifestyles (rather than simply treating illness), we might get a little further in this fight (my employer has had positive results, by not actually punishing obesity, but rather rewarding healthy living: ie.…

Just go get the book. It is really easy to read and understand and guides you through everything (even pictures and demos of the exercises) Also tells you have to journal and keep track of your progress if you've never done any weight training before. Although it is an intense program, it is do-able for any level, and made…

BTW, recommend NROLFW for everyone!!!:flowerforyou:

Excellent!!! I love that you noticed (and obviously demonstrate in your pics!) how weight lifting is the way to slim down and be strong in the process!!! And no, pink Barbie-weights aren't going to do it. . . your deadlift weight is INCREDIBLE!!! I've lifted before, back in college, but trying to be serious again.. . . .…

Thanks and high five back to everyone on this post and all parents everywhere trying to live better. I had to quote this response because this takes a LOT of soul-searching to realize that you aren't being selfish being active and working out, you are caring for your ENTIRE family by living a better healthy lifestyle! Keep…

Yep, ex-gymnast too. . . and I've had 3 knee surgeries. What you are talking about is classic gymnast hips. I wouldn't be surprised if you have hip dysplasia also. It's from what my docs like to call 'floppy joints'. . . (I can still turn my left foot completely around to face backwards, it's sort of scary!!!) coaches…

I had the tear, had the surgery, having same issue again (surgery was about 5 years ago I think). I did get immediate relief from the surgery though, and rehab was SPEEDY!!! Just to give you an idea of the extent of my injury (which it's weird to call it an 'injury', it was more a condition that was a way of life for…

I think I need to forget about the scale and concentrate on being CONSISTENT!!!! I work out, I hit a goal and then ---DONE. It's as if I think I can quit the healthy lifestyle. And then I'm back where I started from---and forget about not liking how my clothes fit, it's now affecting my health. This has to quit. I need to…

Still continuing to have issues with it crashing, so much that I'm only using my iPhone and the web app when I am logging so I don't forget anything (although when I do have time I have been working and struggling with it in order to continue giving feedback). Last night I received the notification that I hadn't logged my…

I haven't read through all these replies, so I apologize if someone already said this, but I do not like the new graphics/color scheme. Some of the place that should be outlined as 'buttons' have nothing on them to set them apart for you to know what to select/click on. I think this would be frustrating to new users. A lot…

I'm also a nurse and I've recently started having trouble with my weight. One of my docs said the greatest thing to me (we were discussing exercise and weightloss, etc.), now in my eyes, she was very tiny and she said "the easiest way to lose weight is. .. don't get fat!" Her reasoning was that, once you gain, it is just…

Have had horrible time with it between yesterday and today. Shuts down every time I try to update my diary. Also, last night I had entered most of my food on the website. When I went to update using my phone later on in the day, nothing was updated/synced. I then started to look at the message feed, and went to post a…

Just did the Cleveland Marathon, and was alongside a lady with a walker in the 10K walking division, I cramped up and slowed down, she blew right past me and many others. I highly doubt that you can 'exclude' anyone if they can keep the pace and sign the waiver.

Got in the 3 mile walk throughout the day, but have dinner meeting tonight, won't have time for the extra 2miles  Moltisani

My son and I went to our local Y together like we always do, but this time I made him stay with me and not play with his friends on the basketball court :blushing: We did the elliptical and stretches. And under today!! Team Moltisani

This ^ . . .also, you can't access groups. That was really a problem for me because I was part of a challenge and I would get the notification from the leader that he posted in the group, but then couldn't link to that post.

So glad to hear that others are having the same difficulty right now with the Summer starting, I was starting to feel that I was just lazy and unmotivated because I couldn't get things done for the challenge that I use to!!! Not to mention bronchitis 3 weeks ago and then a re-injury last week, I'm just a mess!!! I am all…

5 servings of veggies, AND a 10K!!!!! Extra large maybe???? Team Moltisanti

No weight loss  Team Moltisani

I am in this challenge because I like having the team as a motivation. I also like to see different ways to get moving and active and healthy. I was getting bored with my workout and going nowhere, now I get to look on the board everyday and try something different.
