Single mom working out with kids and full time job

It's tough, but I'm determined. I've actually started getting my kids involved in my workouts as well. Anyone else in this boat? I could really use some support from anyone!!

    Yep! Same here.
I have a 6 year old but luckily there is a gym right by my office so I work out at lunch.
Since I taught him how to ride a bike, he & I go for bike rides every night the weather permits (It's been about 3 months).
Ive gotten him to try so much new food, and we make fruit faces or do silly things like which one of us is the dinosaur that can eat through the most trees (broccoli) the fastest- it's not easy, but it's SO WORTH IT

Same shoes!! I am a single mom of two younger kids. I own a bakery and I also work for the paper and somewhere in the middle there I try to get some sleep and some exercise in! The food part is slowly taking shape.....very slowly.

I am not single, but my husband works full time and goes to school time. Right now he actually lives Mon-Fri in another city.... I also don't "Work" outside the home but I am working on a PT training course and have 4 kiddos under the age of 8... a country lifestyle (lots of work in of itself) so I do think I am in a similar boat! Today I got up at 530, had some coffee then at 6 when another 2 kids got up we went to the yard and I did Kettlebell hiits alternating with jogging up and down the driveway with them on their bicycles. People differ in their approach to health, diet and fitness but the food intake is one that is a battle no matter where you are, how many kids you have etc. And I believe it is a significant part of the path to getting healthy and fit.

I'm with you, feel free to friend and I promise to support you and try to give you some of the things I've learned and mistakes I've made (someone needs to learn from them!!!)
You CAN do it though, don't think you can't. And every success is that much sweeter because of how hard you had to work for it and how you are shaping your kids :flowerforyou:

I take my kids on lots of walks. I sometimes walk to the local store for a drink or the fruit stand for a treat with my kids. I carry my 2 year old for extra resistance for myself or put him in the stroller. I'm trying to make a new habit of an evening walk with the family.

For some variety I reserve workout DVDs at my library. It is free and they have a great selection. A DVD also allows me flexibility to workout when I can fit it in.

I just wanted to add that even though I feel stretched pretty thin, it doesnt compare to being on your own 24/7! I hope you have some support somewhere!
