Personally, I use Muscle Milk Chocolate and mix it with water and find the taste to be good. I've never tried mixing it with almond milk, but I want to.

I'm doing both; maintaining a deficit to burn fat and lifting to keep muscle. I do cardio when time allows (play indoor soccer and run after work 2 times a week for 3-5 miles). I've been tracking all the calories with my HRM, but this thread is pushing me to not track any lifting burn.
-
I apologize for my "n00b" question, but... If my HRM is useless, how should I estimate my caloric output while lifting? For example I'm going to do 5/3/1 Deadlifts A (BBB template). Should I just pretend there is no burn, or track 30% of the HRM output?

Black as grump cat's soul is the way to go!!! +1 for "don't put #$%& in my coffee!!!" LOL!

Congratulations!!! It's amazing what us engineers can do when faced with a problem to solve. Good luck on your continued success!!

I use Bull's Eye Texas Style. I can vouch for the Texas to have NO HFCS, but this site has reviews and lists ingredients that suggest none of the four have HCFS. I can't speak to the taste of the other three, but the Texas style is good and is what I use when I make pulled chicken for dinner.…

They are awesome. I love the damn things. Before you get one though, look at the calories, and when someone picks you up off the floor they will probably be willing to drive you to go get one. They are calorie BOMBS, but sooooooooooo damn tasty.

Congratulations man; truly awesome!!!

Personally... I do one circuit of 50% of the max weight for the day for as many reps I'm going to lift that day. For example I've started doing Wendler's 5/3/1. On "bench press A" day I'll do one set of 10 reps bench press, and one set of 10 reps one arm DB row at 50% max weight for those exercises in the cycle. After that…

It sounds good. To do a run from my house to the closest DD would be a round trip of 7.4 miles. As my longest run ever is 5.5 miles it would be a stretch, but there would be a pause where I buy and eat the donut. Given my HRM report of calories burned during a 5.5 mile run... I would have earned the donut, skim milk to…

Damn you have come a looooong way; congrats man!!!

Rambo, RoboCop, The Hobbit, Pulp Fiction, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Anchorman, Alive!... This is too easy :-D

Bump for reading later.

I agree. The lower sodium Jif natural is in my pantry as it tastes good and has less sodium than normal version.

I like Quentin Tarantino and his character in Four Rooms so please bear with me... This weight loss isn't amazing, it is !@#$ing amazing. Your weight loss is !@#$ing amazing. With that said, congrats bro on killing that weight loss.

I saw this yesterday. STRONG inspirational. He is living proof of the quote: "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve" - Napoleon Hill

First off, I agree with the other posters but throwing my two cents in... If you seek quality and quantity turn to the veggies. One bell pepper (on average) is 30 cals. Celery, onions, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, etc are low in cals but high in "awesome for your health". Nuts and seeds are calorie dense which is why…

Just read about the 8 Hour Diet book in Men's Health. I don't plan to buy the book, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try to eat all calories in 8 hours during the day. Just have to fix the at or below calorie goal first... then will add the time restriction. Back to the topic, the article in Men's Health talked about…

This... this sounds gooooooooood. Thanks!!!

Still catching up on this thread, but I'm throwing my two cents in... I'm a software engineer. I do tech everything, but I too enjoy holding a real book. I did however get a kindle 4 last summer. It was at an amazing price and I couldn't refute the logic of having many books with me (on night stand) at once. While I…

I am proof of the saying "you can't out train a bad diet". A person can workout for 5 hours a day every day, but if that same person pounds a bag of Doritos that same day its all in the crapper. I agree with the other guys; get rid of the junk. That's what I've had to do. And if you need junk, make good junk. I've done…

Wait a minute... wait just ONE DAMN MINUTE!!!! When did the red velvet and pumpkin pie ones come out? WHY WASN'T I NOTIFIED!!! I must find and try these... and try to not eat the whole damn box. Willpower challenge accepted.

I take two days off when Hopslam comes out. One to buy and drink, the other to pound Benadryl to recover from the hops!

Approximately how long does it hang out on the stove at night? I've wanted to try steel cut outs in an overnight style, but haven't done trials to see what works/doesn't work.
