I say I run, but I really do a run/jog/walk thing. I run until my HRM goes off at the upper bound, then jog/walk until it lowers to a certain level, then run again. I do this because if I just push through I'm a horrible sneezing/runny nosed mess for 48 hours after word. With that said I'll get to the point  I have…

I wish I had done what Dave suggests for getting a house without relying on the credit score: http://www.daveramsey.com/article/the-truth-about-your-credit-score/lifeandmoney_creditcards/ He also has really good advice on finance in general (personal and business). To OP: The book "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey…

I use this app, but for time and distance only. I have a HRM for calories. This app does well at steps, time, distance, mapping the run, etc but the free version only holds one day's data at a time. So I just take screen caps after each session. I like it.

This is the state of affairs at my work gym. We have a power cage, a smith, and (1 of each) flat bench/incline/decline. I usually squat in either the cage or the smith (depending on which one is occupied when I get down there), bench on the flat bench, and steal a bar from the incline or decline because they don't get used…

I have relatives that offer me every sugar-filled food under the sun when I come over. I know we are Italian and I'm going to get offered food, but for eff's sake can I get offered some celery? Nope; ice cream, cake, pie, cookies, chocolate, candy, etc. Every. Time.

We had our family over this weekend and I heard this. Yes I went from 340's to the 250's, but I'm still not where I want to be. For the record I don't have a weight goal per se, I have a "can I shop at mall stores/non-big mens departments" goal. I have this goal because I haven't been able to since 13/14. Health wise my…

-piece of bread -unopened can of tuna -another piece of bread -can opener -note with a middle finger I'm a guy, but I would have a very low tolerance for that. Or... husband and wife lunch making hour before bed. The wife and I make our own lunches the night before so we can sleep longer. That and we don't forget to make…

I dip ANYTHING vegetable or cracker/bread related. Also put it on sandwiches. Here is my recipe. I've found the GFS chickpeas to give the best flavor so I use them. The can is giant so this makes A METRIC TON of hummus :-D 3/4 cup lemon juice 1/2 cup tahini 8 cup chickpeas (GFS; Gordon Food Service) 1 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp…

Thanks for the tortilla tip. I would certainly be interested in some authentic salsa recipes; please share!!

Really enjoy the stuff the wife and I get at Aldi. Except the turkey hot dogs. The consistency is that of a tire or old calamari. The Fit & Active stuff is really good, and they have a dark chocolate that is really good for a sweet tooth.

Damn fine job sir! I'm basically trying to do what you have done. How long did it take to get from start to now, and what kind of dietary improvements did you make? I know what I'm doing for myself is working, but I'm an engineer so I'm always looking to learn from others and improve my process. Congrats again on your…
