I had the "carb flu" for the first little while. I had a steady headache for 4-5 days. I was also very tired for about 7-10 days... no amount of coffee or anything would pep me up. a little TMI - I also felt bloated/gassy on and off for the first couple weeks. I've heard that is due to upping your protein and fat intake.…

I try to keep my carbs between 50-100g per day.

I have been to a number of different Crossfit facilities, and all of them will allow you to scale your movements to your abilities. Sure, you push yourself but most of us know to stop/slow down before we injure ourselves. Like with any workout, you need to listen to your body. No one at Crossfit is holding you at gunpoint…

I can't workout on a full stomach. I usually need to allow 2-3 hours after a meal to exercise (especially running). If I workout in the AM, I'll usually have a small piece of fruit and/or a tablespoon of almond butter.

Do both cardio and weight training.

That's a great idea! I should try that.

The "mind over matter" thing is what I have the hardest time with. I constantly psych myself out when it comes to certain amount of weight or certain movements. My body is definitely capable, but I'm always doubting in my head. So, I'm trying to study movements and form (via youtube and whatnot), and then I try to…

I just take a Glucosamine with Condroitin and MSM supplement for my joints, and Vitamin B for more energy. If I do have pre- or post-workout supplements, it's usually the brand SFH. It's grass-fed whey protein.

I love 90's Hip Hop!

I take Glucosamine with Chondroitin and MSM. I'll have to look into the 5-HTP!

Yep, Crossfit is definitely the sport of ugly hands. I use a pumice stone on my calluses a couple times a week to keep them flatter (so they won't rip). I also lotion up my hands a lot during the day to keep them as moisturized as possible. There is a girl at our box who uses these things called Versa Grips. I like the…

I PR'd my hang cleans today! Woot woot!

I totally agree! It's a kick in the pants for the in-shape and out-of-shape alike. I went to Crossfit when I was in the worst shape of my life. It was so HARD, but I fell in love with it. It's still hard, but not as scary/god-awful as it was in the beginning. Crossfit is a humbling experience, but also a great one!

I CF 3-4 times a week. I am also trying to improve my running, so I usually go for a 2-3 mile run twice a week.

I'm doing this on Sunday. I usually do 55lb. thrusters, so I'll be glad if I can do 15 at 65lbs. I can't do an unassisted pull up yet, though. : (

I PR'd my back squats by 20lbs on Monday! Kind of un-Crossfit related, but I also ran 5K without taking any walking breaks for the first time EVER! I credit Crossfit for that, because it taught me about mind over matter!

This will be my first Easter on Paleo... usually Easter consists of me gorging on candy, so this will be a big change! I've never been big on peeps, but I love almost all other forms of Easter candy! I'm almost positive that if I decided to cheat and eat some sweets, I'd probably feel icky!
