  • You know, I honestly never thought about it that way. Thank you for the constructive criticism. Maybe the women that stare or ask me if I'm afraid I'll end up "Hulk-like" would actually like tips or pointers but are too afraid to ask? THIS is why I posted this. Sometimes, I don't use logic and reason, I just get frustrated…
  • "Based solely on this thread" ...exactly. You don't know me. Everybody jumps down my throat for being judgmental yet every one of you is doing the exact same thing. If I was that insecure, I probably wouldn't be on a public forum airing my weight loss journey. Think about it. And for the 100000000th x, my rant was ONLY…
  • haha... okay....
  • The brand was a generalization not to the outfit but to the push-up bra wearing women. And nobody's ever scoffed at you when you squat 200#? Cause they have me! I actually had one woman ask me if I was afraid I would look "Hulk like" someday. Uhhh.... no.
  • I genuinely appreciate such a supportive message. I can tell you right now it won't ever deter me from going to the gym, just maybe at a different time or a different (bigger) gym altogether. People took my original post as a slam on people that wear make up and that wasn't even the point?? You're right, I get scoffed at…
  • wear*
  • IDGAF about your skort! I also don't care that your friend wears make up. Are you actually working in there or just taking up space? Game, set, match. Done here.
  • THANK YOU!!! People continue to ask how it affects me. IT'S A SMALL GYM! Utilize it or leave. I also really hate when people use the machinery incorrectly because they have no idea what they're doing. That's a major cause of injuries. Anybody want to attack me about that?
  • i liked your pun there with "cracking up" i agree, it is amusing... but i really do go to a small gym in a big city and it's more venting frustration than anything that i'd like to have the space to workout freely, not share with people who aren't doing anything or taking it seriously. sigh... that's all i meant. :ohwell:
  • right! exacttly. i work out at Anytime Fitness and the gym is in a really small strip mall. excuuuuse me if there's 3 working treadmills and minimal lifting space. i have nothing better to do than people watch. doesn't mean i don't make the most of my time & money there! i'm not concerned with the negative feedback on the…
  • thank you
  • YOU ARE ALL MISSING THE POINT. i wasn't referring to girls simply wearing make up. hell, if you're a guy and wanna wear make up to the gym, go for it! i was specifically talking about women that put on make up, go to the gym with their hair down & straightened, take pictures and don't do anything. i thought i made that…
  • i don't believe i was freaking out... i work as well and often wear make up, not cake-up. i guess i should have been more specific, it's the rolled on with a paintroller make up wearing, stand-there-and-look-cute-while-i-pretend-to-do-something girls that drive me batty.
  • THANK YOU
  • i'm sorry, you're missing the point of my post. if you go there and look like a train wreck after... you're obviously not taking selfies and posting them on instagram or facebook or wherever. that's what annoys me. the gym is a place to work out, not flaunt your face or reel in a husband. my point was that they're there,…
  • Strength training will most definitely require more protein. Your goal weigh is around 200 pounds?? This is not from personal experience, as I am a 5'4" female, but my boyfriend is 6'2" 215 and built like a brick house. If you're planning to get to 200, you're going to look like a twig! He lifts 3 days on, 1 off, each week…
  • If you're looking for convenience, I've seen a recipe on Pinterest to make your eggs in a muffin tin and freeze/refrigerate for consumption later on! You can crack them into the tin and have them over-easy, or scramble them and add some mix ins like cheese and ham, then plop it on some toast or an english muffin. I was…
  • PEANUT BUTTER!!!! A chocolate protein shake with a banana cut up in it and some peanut butter is sincerely delicious! I use ice as well, sometimes other fruits, occasionally even a scoop of coconut milk ice cream (rarely buy it though). But seriously, the peanut butter is delicious.
  • oatmeal with a banana cut up in it! no dairy. or some type of power energy bar. or if you can choke down dry toast. all sit in your tummy well & give you energy for your run :) good luck!
  • Count me in as well! Always looking for fellow fit friends to lend tips and an ear :)
  • Welcome to the journey of a healthy lifestyle! It's not all fun but you will enjoy it, I promise :) Start slow so as not to get discouraged. The app helps A LOT but don't obsess so much over numbers, cheat meals are okay every once in a while. What kind of workouts are you looking for/what are you interested in? And what…
  • I didn't read every thread so I'm not sure if somebody already mentioned this but here goes: I just ran into this same problem! I didn't gain weight when I trained for my half but I was SOFT! I was disgusted. I had been hitting the weights pretty hard before that training so I couldn't understand it. I think you have some…
  • I'm so sorry for your loss. I've gone through this as well but I cannot even imagine how traumatic it would be to find out the way you did. I'm thinking of you and hoping you can find peace of mind somewhere down the road. Take care of yourself, although it's very hard to believe that things will ever get better. I firmly…
  • I lift! I actually lift more than many other women I see at the gym. Do you have a certain method to what you eat before and after lifting? When I had an episode this morning, I realized I ran last night and then lifted heavy, and only ate my normal dinner. Sometimes I'll grab a protein bar for between workout and dinner…
  • I certainly know what you mean! My mother is also hypoglycemic and she can eat the same things I do on a daily basis and not have any problems! She can also eat a ton of sugar and not crash. Makes no sense to me! I am definitely going to reconstruct my diet accordingly. Thanks :)
  • I guess I should have been more specific, I don't stick to JUST those foods. I saw someone mentioned avocados, I LOVE avocados and use them to top just about anything (even on my sandwiches). According to MyFitnessPal app, my fat intake is always sufficient? I don't know, I eat cheeses and such in addition to what I listed…
