  • What has seemed to help for me is to focus on my macros instead of just my calories. I still eat around 2000 calories a day (usually more) but I make sure the calories are more filling such as good fats, high protein, etc. I also make sure I am active. I'm almost 7 months PP and hit a slight plateau but this has worked for…
  • Has he tried any protein bars or drinks?
  • I'm with you on this one. It gets easier everyday to ignore the haters though :) I heard this quote, "Don't worry about what I'm doing. Worry about why you're worried about what I'm doing." So true! Do your thing, stay focused, stay happy.
  • Thanks guys & gals! These are all awesome. I frequently have friends ask me for advice so I'm going to compile a list of these. I got so frustrated in the beginning and all of these would have definitely helped me on a daily basis. :)

  • I do this! Not always spot on day after day, but generally the same every week day. It makes it a lot easier to stick to my diet AND the food prep come Sunday night is always quick and painless. Then I can just grab & go. Saves a lot of time. Haven't gotten sick of anything either! (yet...knock on wood)
  • Hi Ashley! I'm also 5'4", around the same age, but I've had a lot more to lose. In college I actually got up to 200! Couldn't believe it. But you CAN do it, and there's lot of tips, pointers, advice, etc that people on here can offer you. Feel free to add me as well if you'd like :) What kinds of things are you interested…
  • Well Dave sounds like an absolute tool and if your friend wants to put up with that, let her. But you sound like you have a good head on your shoulders, a great outlook on life, and your own boyfriend that loves you for exactly who you are. Ditch the dead weight (your best friend and her joke of a man) and move on. Just…
  • I haven't experienced that exact scenario but I DID have a best friend who's boyfriend was a royal a**hole and would constantly belittle her AND all of her friends. He would call HER fat and even cheated on her! I had a miscarriage around age 20 (which is a lot more common than I thought) and he called me out in front of…

  • YAY for swimmers! I've been thinking about getting back into it as well. What kind of warm up are you doing? I agree with the potassium and stretching. Also, whenever you find time, do some calf raises (just randomly is fine). That helped me. You could just be getting used to the motion again... give it a little time. And…

  • Oh dear, it's way too soon to be getting discouraged! I can understand your frustrations but don't give up. Like the poster above, what have you been doing? I noticed the same, that the initials pounds came off quickly and then I hit a plateau (mine was after a few months though) so I switched up my workouts because my…
  • Absolutely do! Not as much as we used to because he has baseball games between 3 & 5 nights a week in the summer but when we can, we do. :) We used to religiously go to the gym together but it doesn't always just have to be that or running. Find what you enjoy! We also rollerblade with our husky & last weekend we tried…
