  • I JUST got the Fitbit Force rash, but I LOVED mine. Kept me accountable, kept me moving. An awesome little gadget that generated gobs of date. I vote get one!
  • My hubby and I have lost about 100lbs combined. We've had MANY people say to us "Wow, you look great! But good luck keeping it off!". It's frustrating, but sadly true. So many fad diets get the weight off, but as soon as you come off, it all comes back on. Those comments have just upped my determination to, in fact, keep…
  • You are rocking that thing and your waist is to die for! Our stretch marks are our battle scars...wear them with pride. Yes, yes, yes!
  • I did the Warrior Dash this weekend. I had completed the C25k in order to prep for it, plus the weights that I do just for exercise in general. I've gotta say, the hills (it took place at a ski place) were the worst part. I did hear a lot of women (and men) complaining about not having enough upper body strength for the…
  • I tend to think of MFP as more of a guide than a die hard accurate database anyway. Even if things are off a bit, I'm still doing WAY better than I was a year ago. I think it's more about the habits you develop than 100% accuracy on the part of the user-generated database. Just my take;0)!
  • You look totally amazing!!! Congratulations:0)! And keep it up...after what you've done, last 10 should be a piece of cake!
  • I just recently added a goal of 8 servings of fruits and/or veggies a day. My Vitamix really helps with this. It's amazing how much food you get for little calories AND how much less room there is for junk in the diet. Plus, there is something to the idea of ADDING to your diet (aka lifestyle) than taking away from it.
  • Nope, no planned cheat days. Pretty much what everyone else says: 1. Lifestyle change so it just stays off. Period. 2. Eat what you want within your calorie limit (a couple bits of chocolate cake vs a whole piece) 3. Exercise more if you know the day is going to be a big food day. For me, I wouldn't want to undo all the…
  • Oh, and oatmeal in the morning helps (is that the same as porridge in the UK?) and hard boiled eggs as a snack help to fill you up without being a calorie bomb.
  • The first few weeks are kinda rough. You battle staying under goal with being hungry. That's what will help to teach you what to eat (filling fiber and protein packed items) rather than what you shouldn't (high cal with no substance or filling qualities). This is where the lots of fruits and veggies come in. Rough answer,…
  • Agreed! LOVE this app! It has seriously changed my life, as in 38 lbs in 6 months. I log daily and plan to for a looooong time (even after goals are met). Feel free to add me as a supportive friend.
  • Welcome! I'm a 34 yo mom of 3 kiddos under 6 years old. I've been on MFP for about 6 months and am a true believer. I've lost 38 lbs so far and have about 15 to go:0)! My advice, log daily (even bad days), drink lots of water and eat as many fruits and veggies as you can (to make less room for the bad stuff). You're gonna…
  • Vanilla Greek Yogurt is delicious with a bit of strawberry or blueberry pancake syrup (you'll find it in the maple syrup section). It makes it patable for me anyway and the kiddos love it!
  • Feel free to friend me for support. I'm 34 years old and a mom of 3 kiddos under 6 years old. I started back in July 2012 and have lost 38lbs so far. Just 15 more to go! It sounds like you are on the right track. One thing that helped me plow through a recent plateau was to set a personal goal of 8 fruits and/or veggies…
  • 34 years old here with only 15 more to go:0)! I log daily and will continue to log even after goal is met. Feel free to add me too;0)! Log daily and your chances of success increase greatly...
  • Set a long term goal and visualize it daily. Eat clean. Reward yourself with something NOT food related every ten pounds or so. Find some buddies here on MFP and log EVERYTHING daily. Be committed and patient and it will come off. It's not worth doing if you don't do it right. Best of luck.
  • Personally, I'm not a soda drinker as I prefer coffee; however, I did just want "Hungry for Change" on Netflix last night. It was VERY interesting and gave some rather scary theories on diet soda.
  • Of all the flavors, I like fruit punch the best. IMO, some are REALLY bad (i.e. cherry, grape, mango stawberry). And oops...just saw the post above...
  • For snacks, hard boiled eggs, apple with a tablespoon of peanut butter, and a palm size of roasted/salted almonds all help to keep me full until my next meal. Oatmeal in the mornings has been a filling, low cal and easy breakfast solution for me. My key is not letting myself get ravenous hungry...that really helps to keep…
  • You are gonna be on that eliptical all night! Good luck:0)!
  • Hi there. I'm not a new mom anymore, but I have a 5, 4 and 2 year old. They all were so close together and I nursed for about a year (which did nothing to help my weight, btw;0) so couldn't really concentrate on taking care of me. Somehow things are a bit easier now and I've decided to tackle my extra 50ish pounds. MFP…
  • You look incredible and totally different! What an inspiration for those of us just starting out:0)! Keep it up, girl!
  • While trying on a new skirt, my 4 year old daughter said "Momma, you look beautiful...just like a dancing hippo." She meant well, but it was definitely a turning point for me...
