Some of the exercise is new, but most of it isn't. I've been running regularly for about a year now and I've run a couple of half marathons. I have shaken it up a little bit by doing more all round exercise as opposed to just running, but that's the only difference.

As well as needing to get used to it, I think the reason a lot of beginners struggle is because they're running too fast. It'll take a while for you to figure out what's a sustainable pace for you. Until then keep it nice and slow!
