http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/ Use the Military Body Fat Calculator to get your body fat %. Then use the BMR calculator. It will give you a chart. Pick your activity level, eat that amount of calories and don't eat back your exercise calories.
Thanks for posting this website. That really helped me out.

I don't think you should worry about 10 grams over protein. Especially if you are working out and gaining muscle- you will need the protein. I think that MFP has some pretty strict protein rules. As a diabetic, I know when I eat more protein than carbs - I feel better and I don't get hungry as often. You should adjust the…

I have a puffed out belly. So people think I am pregnant. It's really annoying.

My work schedule is erratic and crazy. I never get the same day twice in a row. This really messes up how and when I work out. But I try to make it a point to do something everyday. Even if it's just a one mile walk to do an errand instead of driving or taking a bus. As long as you are burning calories and eating within…

I weight in on Saturday. I work 7 days a week but my Saturday shift starts later than the other days so it gives me more time :) Also it forces me to be mindful of what I eat Friday night - which is usually when I order take out for dinner - since Friday night my shift ends the latest of all the days :)
-
I have those days too. Especially if I am having a busy day at work and didn't plan very well and don't have anything in my bag snackwise. So then I grab something not too healthy - like a McDonald's smoothie - I doubt it's really REAL Fruit. Don't punish yourself, just keep moving forward.

I weigh every Saturday morning right after I get up.

I work as a nanny, a private tutor and I'm in grad school. So not exactly the same boat, but a very hectic and erratic schedule. I'm married, no kids. Struggled with weight for so long. But when I started taking it seriously then I started to lose. The main point is you have to make time for yourself. I know it's the…

I'm a diabetic so I can base my hunger on my blood sugar levels. Another way is wait 20 minutes after you eat. If you still feel hungry, then eat something else or have maybe half a portion of what you just did. It's possible to be hungry again after that hour you mentioned.

I am 33 and also gluten intolerant. After I got diagnosed and went gf the first thing that really surprised me is that I lost ten pounds. That started my weight loss. It's amazing how much that white flour can be such a "killer." I find that all of my favorites can be made gluten free. Not sure what is available in your…

You have to start eating healthy. This is still the hardest thing for me because I am on a really tight budget. Also measuring portion sizes. One thing that helped me when I first started losing weight was juicing. I am not the type that can eat salads everyday. They get boring and I feel like I am chewing for an hour. My…

I gained weight because of health problems. I didn't start to really lose weight until I was cleared by my doctors to start exercising again. I also started working with a nutritionist for two months to understand a little better what food was good and what food was bad. I still contact her for pointers. I'm 5'7" and was…

I didn't notice a difference until I lost 30 pounds and took a few photos at events, etc. Then when I posted to facebook and was looking at photos from six months before...that is when I saw the difference.

I'm adding you because I need the same thing! Motivation and Encouragement.

How many calories definitely corresponds to how much you weigh. When I started dieting I was 188 pounds. I probably ate over 3000 calories a day without realizing it. I try to stick within 1200 to 1800 calories a day. I try never to go over 2000. I found this website which told me that I need over 2500 calories to maintain…

That worked! Thanks so much. Even that little change will make me feel better about how I am eating.

I bet you can see a difference in your clothes too! I noticed the clothes feeling looser before I started to see the numbers dropping on the scale. And I totally empathize with the heat not helping with the exercise, I've not been consistent either!

I have gluten intolerance and Crohn's. Cutting out gluten really helped. Gluten is the protein in wheat and many other grains. Gluten can give you problems if you have IBS or IBD. Also minimize the portions. Sometimes beans and nuts bother me - but if I measure out before I eat them - I notice that helps.

I was very addicted to carbs...then I found out I was gluten intolerant. So I had to cut pasta, bread, pizza, etc from my diet. Magically I began to loose weight. Ok, not magically - but you get the idea. We all know that this kind of food is unhealthy - for me it was causing severe pain. If you think about it, in the long…

I don't know how safe that would be though, I'm a diabetic. And as it is, I only eat when I get hungry. 1400 is the lowest I will go. I know people say 1200, just not sure how safe that is. Opinions?

I see sawed my weight for most of my adult life but always had a puffed out stomach. I finally decided to see a gastro last year and found out I have gluten intolerance. So I got out a lot of carbs. I can still eat potatoes, rice and corn but I try to do so sparingly because I am tracking calories, etc. When I did that I…

I went a good month without losing one pound though, so I think that might classify as Plateau? I started losing again when I went on this site. Just don't want to plateau again.
