How do people lose so much in one month???? MFP only allows for 2 lbs. and I'm happy with that. I am older now...but perhaps that may have been possible in my twenties.

agree

YES on making calories count!

Okay great. I figured it out! Thanx!

You look like a totally different person! GREAT job!

It depends if you can keep up with that "insane" instructor. I am just starting, so I modify ALOT! Who can keep up with that intensity?

Does the body not get use to this as well? I am a little concerned at my calorie intake at 1200. I lost 11 lbs the first month and gained 2 when I started working out. Prior to that I was eating healthy, not tracking food but exercising FAITHFULLY and not a pound came off. I was so frustrated!!!!! I went to The Metabolic…

I use to do this all the time, I even craved it. Make sure you are not anemic.

Amazing story!!!!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! I noticed when I had back pain and started working out, it stopped. You story is inspiring me to stay off the scale. You gained a little and look soooo much better and thinner!

I have to agree here. There are genetic predispositions there are also metabolic disorders.

A study by scientists at Oregon Health and Science University examined the eating habits and weight-gain patterns of rhesus monkeys, which they considered to be a useful model for studying human obesity . The study found that the monkeys who ate most of their food at night were at no greater risk for gaining weight than…

I have a hard time believing that you were happier or you would not have done what you did and stuck to it. What kept you motivated? Think about it. Weight and food aren't the things that make people happy. Maybe you don't have an eating disorder but a depression problem. I am not judging you. I am an experienced…

This is the first place I have heard this. I get off work at six thirty and by the time I get home...etc. sometimes it's late. I get hungry late too. I like to snack at night. I would like some real back up on this and am going to research it.

It depends on what YOU LIKE to do, so you will stick with it. Personally dancing was NEVER exercise to me...so I was drawn to Zumba. I use to be a personal trainer and was trained to do a few minutes of cardio then strength training then 20 min. of cardio. Something about having your heart rate up while you are strength…

Still trying to figure out the "quote" thing and making a response. Anyway...the NOT BEING A SLAVE TO THE SCALE...is huge huge huge for me. I REALLY want to get there. The first month I saw it move down down down...and now nothing and sometimes up.... I'm happy with having lost 11 lbs. in a month. I did not lose a pound on…

I am super amazed. You did not lose so much in pounds, but your body is DRASTICALLY different. SO now I won't freak so much if I gain or stay the same because I am working out. But I have thought of not working out until I get to a point where I feel comforitable working out and not minding that the scale doesn't move.

I think you are right. I had our trainer do my measurements BF% and BMI%. I still get obsessed with the scale. I weigh every morning after I shower and I have not seen it move this week. Sometimes it will flux 2-5 lbs. It freaks me out. It's more stressful. The first 30 days it was exciting because I saw constant dropping,…

That is good news because I was wondering the same thing.
-
Screw the scale. I have to get that through my stubborn head!
