  • Hey Megan, I understand the photo thing as well, also thought about forgoing them (too late deposit paid now). Are you just starting as well (like me), or have been working out for a while?
  • Thanks Cathy! Anxiety is the exact word to use in my case. I know it's silly but I'm more worried about people who will see the photos. Sending those on the Save-the-date cards, wedding website - so I think that's why I'm so anxious about my weight.
  • It's great to have someone to interact with who's going through the beginning (all over again). I feel like the same key points you listed are the same reasons for myself as well. Adding you.
  • Hello everyone, I have about 35 pounds to lose hopefully by the end of this year as well!
  • Hello OP, We share a very similar history. Thought I would share mine as well, since you shared yours! I also discovered fitness, running, mud-runs in 2011-2012. I lost about 16 pounds on my own bringing my lunches, eating my normal dinners, but working out 3-4 times a week. During this time I utilized MFP to log my…
  • Welcome Hun! I also have tried WW in the past. I lost some weight, but also got discouraged and stopped. It seems WW is not a reliable form of long-term change; because, it is based on their points system. And as you know, if you don't have a WW account, you can't check how many points are in every food on the planet…

  • He may have worded it differently; however, it was easier for me to explain it the way I did. I understand within the "lean mass" they account for bone, fluids, etc. It's not just bluntly muscle and fat to a body (if anyone thought that, I think our country would have a MAJOR issue). Where I go I can switch trainers,…
  • I still have a ways to go, and am trying to reduce that bf% as well. I did not know that about the protein while in deficit. Thank you for your comments.
  • Sorry that I may not have worded it precisely.....
  • Thank you to everyone for the input. I appreciate it! So, I will be using 100g as an absolute baseline, and depending on my goals (muscle gain v. body fat reduction) adjust according. Again, thank you all very much for the confirmation.
  • Hi all. Looking for my twin as well. I am 21 years old. 5 feet, 4 inches. SW: around 162-165 CW: drifting between 146-148 GW: to be under 140 UGW: 132 I had been using my apartment complex small gym. I just signed up for a real fitness center, and I have been doing C25K.
  • It is my birthday! So, I will be celebrating that mostly. Going to be having a nice dinner at a steakhouse with my spouse, and must include the wine and chocolate somewhere too. :)
  • I'm on W3D1. It's still cold where I am, so keep in mind I'm doing this all on a treadmill. I usually do a jog, about 5.2 mph. For the cool down I'll taper the walking. Walk at 3 mph for 1 minute, 2.5 mph for two or so minutes, then slow down all the way to 1.5 mph. I believe on the c25k website it recommends at least 1…
  • I have done C25K in the recent past, and had to stop about week four (strep throat/recovery). Currently I am week 2, day 3. Usually on my run days, I like to try doing weights afterwards (legs, arms, etc). The C25K website recommends the weight training in between runs; however, I feel like I never get a good warm-up if I…
  • Yes, it does. I have the FT40. I bought mine from Amazon, and it was around $115. There is a chest strap that syncs with the watch, this not only displays heart rate but also shows calories expended (you can check your HR and calories burned during, and after the workout.) It summarizes your average, and maximum heart rate…
  • I have not done the Spartan Race; however, I have done the Mud Challenger. They look a tad similar from the website (I could be wrong.) They are fun. The obstacles are usually based more on strength. There were not too many parts at Mud Challenger of straight running, maybe a mile max. Most of the obstacles are close…
