  • Sorry, I didn't read through everything. First of all, you look incredible!! Nice work!! Second, did you lose by walking only?
  • I belong to the YMCA. The one I go to is older.....I've also gone to some really nice new ones. But this one is closer. What I love about it is that it is truly filled with a lot of amazing Senior Citizens and it really does become a community. And no waiting for equipment. EVER. And it has everything I had at Lifetime…
  • I'm frustrated as well. It's been about four weeks. I lost 5 lbs in the first week and since then, nothing. I'm eating SO much better than before. I'm exercising every day, and still the scale hasn't budged. I'm 36. However, I'm using my mom as inspiration. She is 60 and has lost 80 lbs in the past year. She did it by…
  • Nice job!! Love the pics! I'm 5'10", so this is good to see a similar body size to mine. Thanks for sharing, and you look fabulous!!
  • I only read a few of the comments because they were annoying to me. I completely understand what you're saying. You're not stupid. You know you're doing it for yourself. But it still hurts when your hard work isn't noticed by others. Yes, of course you want to be healthy. But you also want to look good in that little black…
  • Single mom. Full time college. Two part time jobs. I work out at night between 7-8. After work. After dinner. Before bedtime for my daughter and before homework for me.

  • Old Navy activewear is awesome. It's inexpensive.......and it last so much longer than Walmart or anything like that. They have XL and XXL sizes.......and they're normally on sale...... as a matter of fact, my 10 lb reward is a new pair of work out pants from old navy. :)
  • Ugh! I've noticed that some of the responses on this website are more condescending than helpful :). I'll try to give a helpful two cents. I would start lifting light dumb bells. I did 10 lb dumb bells, 3 sets of 12 - 5 different lifts (that target different muscle groups) every other day and my arms, shoulders and neck…
  • This. Maybe not extra hot though. ;)
  • I haven't had a drink in two weeks to try to jump start this weight loss.(results are underwhelming so far). Today I decided to have some wine - BECAUSE I WANTED IT!! ;). I lost a lot of weight two years ago and I drank A LOT. It took 8 months to lose 40 lbs. You can still lose, I think it'll just take longer. I'm really…
  • Great story!! You've done an amazing job! You're definitely inspiring to me!! nice work!!!
  • I'm more of a "glimpses of greatness" kind of gal. And that's no fun either. I feel like I'm good at a lot of things......great at none. Or at least not for very long.
  • Yes, you can microwave them. I love the Southwest burgers. So yummy. They are high in sodium, however.
  • It all sound delish........and you're right....the oatmeal definitely fills me up. Thanks for the response :)
  • I seem to regularly hit my protein goals.......does it hurt to go over protein?
  • Hold on.....let me put my oatmeal down........ ;). Haha. This makes sense though......and my protein powder is sitting lonely on the counter......
  • Huge Congratulations!! And I love that your son drew on a beard in the before pic ;)
  • This is a great idea. I might have to try this.
  • What do you do to burn this many calories and how long does it take you?
  • I've heard this a lot recently as well and it makes me happy! :) I get so bored in the gym.....and my daughter is in the childcare room so I feel like I need to hurry and get her......I did 670 the other night and it seemed to take forever.......I'll get better, I know.....patience is not a virtue of mine. ;) Thanks to all.
  • I really want to do this at work. Except I'm the first person people see when they come into the office......I don't know how professional it would be. I'd definitely do it at home, except my 4 year old would want to play with it. :)
  • You do look like a different person!! And so much younger!! Way to go! You're beautiful!! Nice work and dedication!!
  • It looks and sounds unbelievable!!!! :)
  • I'm 5'10 as well. Actually, your description of yourself could be me!!! I'm just starting this journey. My goal weight is 170, although the charts say I should weigh 150. I've lost 5 lbs so far and am excited for the next 5. Good luck to you.......
  • Thanks everyone.......just needed a little boost this morning. To the "Good Lord" woman; it's not really necessary to be a sarcastic and condescending.....and is exactly the reason I shy away from online forums. The cloak of anonymity gives some people the green flag to be rude.
  • Hi Arlene, I'm new as well. I have 70 lbs to lose. I'm excited to start seeing a difference. i've lost 5 so far. Two years ago I lost 40 lbs and felt awesome......then gained it all back in the last year. I'm a single mom, work two jobs, (one is a dreadful desk job) go to school full time........I was using all that as an…
  • Thanks. It's got to be the sodium. I definitely get enough water. And I guess I have it drilled in my head that I need to burn 3500 cal to LOSE weight.....I forget that the opposite is true to gain. :)
  • Oh my gosh, these amounts seem so low!! I'm a single mom to a 4 year old little girl and we spend $300/mo just on groceries. Laundry detergent, trash bags, toilet paper, etc. is extra. But, it's kind of an outlet for me. I work two jobs and go to school full time, so we don't get out and do much.......cooking is my comfort.
  • I'm 5'10" and 21 years ago when I was a freshman in high school I weighed 155 and my family did an intervention because they thought I was anorexic!! I wasn't. :) I will be happy at 170.

  • Yes. I'm just starting this journey.....I've lost 5 lbs so far. Woot! Woot! :) But I'd like to lose at least 35 more by Christmas, as I'm going home for the first time since I've gained all this weight. 50 would be the icing. Good luck to you. How much do you want to lose?
