  • Um I hate to break it to you but of those studies only http://care.diabetesjournals.org/content/32/4/688.short and http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/early/2013/01/30/ajcn.112.050997.abstract reached any conclusion of harm following the use of aspartame soft drinks. Two didn't even include them as a data point so we can…
  • I'm not a morning eater never have been really frankly I like being able to sleep that extra 30 min in the am. Morning eating just makes me cranky I'd rather have those couple of big meals in the afternoon - evening than try to spread out smaller meals thru out the day and be hungry all day.
  • Seems like something to mention to a doc after all exercise induced asthma exists.
  • Weigh only once a week it won't seem as bad. I enjoy watching the numbers bounce around that way however those numbers in no way affect my daily life except for that time I sprained my knees and the time I over did it on squats and I used those numbers as a general guess as to how long I was going to swell or have doms.
  • For most its regular soda though to be honest its got more to do with the sugar and calorie content in regular soda. This being said there are also those who give up diet because of aspartame related concerns see the aspartame posts pinned. The whole foods, clean eaters, and paleo/primal groups have also for the most part…
  • You could give one change at a time a go. Start small trading say 1 soda a day for water, later adding in portion control and nutrition guide lines (can be separate too,) then adding in your exercise pattern of choice after your used to all of this. Little changes over time equal big changes in the long run, and if the…
  • 16/8 works fairly well if your blood sugar can't sustain a 5/2 fast like mine. You still have to watch what you eat and eat in the deficit but its easier to eat in a deficit when you're only eating in a small window of time. In my case, it also had the added bonus of being a mood stabilizer as a bunch of little meals just…
  • I weigh mostly daily but that's more for my own amusement than anything else for some reason I find that number jumping around hilarious this being said I log once a week or so when I remember to take the phone in the bathroom and not leave it on the counter next to the fridge.
  • I mark as lightly active and log exercise elsewhere. When I was waiting tables I logged about half of particularly busy nights, for example one night I didn't get a break for 6 hours I logged 3 and ate back half of what I logged. But if I was cooking I didn't bother to log it no matter how busy we were.
  • I don't really do cheat days I'm more in the eat what I want in moderation camp, mmm homemade french dip. And should I happen to go over one day its not that big of a deal I'm usually between 500-2000 below my weekly goal anyways.
  • Because our bodies are funny that way and weight loss is in no way linear. Keep going and maybe try drinking more water seems to help.
  • :noway: Forget intermittent fasting try actually eating something I eat meals bigger than that daily intake wow 800 calories. But in all seriousness that is not enough for a day.

  • You realize that weighing thru out the day also adds in what ever you've eaten, drank, and not released from your body at that point right? Your weight fluctuates through out the day pick a day of the week in the morning wearing the same clothes and that's your weight, if you must do it every day follow those same…
  • Nope, that was just a remembered portion of that conversation that always follows along with the rest of it, for reasons. When you grow up around diabetics it really does become medical jargon after a while the advice given to grandfather is different than my mother received, my uncle different, my grandmother's both got…
  • Indeed it likely is anecdotal at best, though having seen it in every single diabetic I know, including my pre-diabetic self, I'm inclined to believe it. The best explanation I was given was that insulin resistance ie type 2 diabetes causes the body to metabolize differently, particularly glucose but this can also affect…
  • Ok here's something that has been mentioned before but I'm looking at it slightly differently. Look at your log and how you are feeling during this and after specific meals, you don't seem to perk up any till after you've added protein in. The mood and the fatigue seem to be insulin resistance as basically your popping…
  • http://thefastdiet.co.uk/ I personally use 16/8 myself blood sugar has never been stable enough for a full on fast.
  • Well I'm glad its working for you it just messed with me as an adult. If it comes to it healthy calorie dense foods work well my folks used pastas, casseroles, and cooking with things like butter and what not to help boost the caloric intake when I wasn't eating all that often because of how I react to these types of meds.
  • 1. Yes some people just carry weight well. 2. Talk to your doctor for that. 3. No not really most all of this is estimation.
  • Some people do well not eating breakfast I've never been a morning eater and I'm down 12 lbs plus I can still eat that calzone I love so much when I go out.
  • As a teenager and an adult I've taken this and other similar drugs. It can lead to disordered eating problems but this because its an appetite suppressor. Watch for other side effects also this can affect sleeping habits and a few others that I can't remember. The webmd article on this one is fairly accurate if I'm…
  • Sounds like a good idea to me.
  • http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/ That one is nice if like me you don't have gym access.
  • Could keep some frozen veggies on hand several of those are cheaper than fresh and may even taste better when steamed or baked into a casserole. Plus beans, rice, and things are relatively cheap and good for ya.
  • Blood sugar drops can cause head rushes too.
  • I pick up individual frozen fish and some brown rice etc. Just enough for one but if the rest want some be my guest but that being said I have a good deal of will power and if I don't want to eat junk food then I don't eat it tho I miss my morning caffiene I need to find a seattles best near to my college, I can drink the…
  • Really doesn't sound healthy to me, maybe speak to your doc about all of this. That being said I have a window from about 1-9 where I eat. I use this because it works for me and honestly I'm easier to get along with on this plan. Something to consider.
  • Whole milk is fine. I still use it for cooking etc. Never really liked the taste of milk.
  • You can fluctuate up 4-5 lbs in a day. I ended up with doms the other days and was up 2 lbs.
