  • It is a journey, my initial large weight loss with WW in 2004 I lost 55 pounds in 7 months (193 to 138). Maintained that for about a year and 30 pounds slowly came back. I did not learn with WW that this is a lifestyle. It is forever. After kids I was able to lose 10 pounds with just running, and eating whatever I wanted…
  • I love the arguing, everyone has an opinion. Calorie deficit = weight loss. In this respect a calorie is a calorie. However, a higher protein diet can lead to higher muscle retension and increased FAT loss... and isn't that ultimately the goal? Also, eating clean and eating higher protein/ low carb may not change numbers…
  • I eat back my exercise calories. I work out about 6 days a week and am training for a half marathon. Some days I burn over 1200 calories and I need the extra energy from more food!! I started about 170 and now am at goal, about 137... and I have always ate back my calories:) That said, I eat if I am hungry... if I am not…
  • I cut out simple sugars and grains completely from week 24 on. Fruit has sugar and is a fine carb source. Veggies even have some sugar. Your body can break down just about anything into an energy source. I do not advise eating considerably less than your daily needs, but cutting out sugar and grains is just fine!! If…
  • When I was pregnant I had gained 24 pound at 24 weeks of pregnancy. I was 176 at 24 weeks. I started eating a Paleo diet, but did include dairy. It is similar to eating clean. Lots of protein, eggs, meat, nuts, fruit and veggies. I ate as much as I needed to be satisfied. I only tracked a few days for the sake of knowing…
  • I usually eat over 100 grams of protein a day!! It keeps you fuller longer and feeling more satisfied. It does take more energy for your body to digest proteins, and you will gain more muscle by eating protein especially if you are lifting...and more muscle will burn more calories and fat in the long run.
  • I did start to plateau and I cut my calories in October from 1940 to 1600 (baby was 8 weeks old) and then it started to drop again. I have started to avoid the scale though. I jump up and down up to 2 pounds every day and I get so frustrated. Really, the goal is to look and feel better. If that is happening, who cares what…
  • My baby is a belly sleeper. Third time around I am a lot less paranoid. When I was a baby we all slept on our tummies!! He is almost 4 months now and can roll over, but he has been on his belly since about 8 weeks.
  • 170 149 Goal 140-145 5'4 Eat 1200+ 400 for bf+ workout cals
  • Last half was last March, did a 10 mile in October, and after recently having a baby I want to get back to my previous speeds with some 5 and 10ks. Next half is in March!! You can see my races and times on my profile!! I might consider a full when a half isn't challenging any more, but currently that is enough for me:)
  • I did cheerleading in high school and 2 colleges, dance team in high school and then for a semi-pro football team. I did tumbling from ages 3-9 and then gymnastics from 10-13. I miss it a ton, but take my daughters to classes now. They looked at starting an adult class then had the instructor back out that was going to…
  • I am in!! 5'4 female, 31 Starting weight: 178 pregnant, 171 right after baby, 153 prepregnancy Current weight 148.8 12 weeks PP Goal weight: 140ish December goal: 143.8 would be 5 pounds and I will take that!!
  • I just started lifting about 6 weeks ago and have been running half marathons for about 2 years. It seems nearly impossible to get in a minumum of 3 days of lifting and 3 runs a week. Right now, since I don't have a half until March it is managable, but when I need to start increasing my distance I am sure something will…
  • Agreed with all that you have to say. I recently had about a 10 day plateau, probably not a big deal, but made me frustrated. Dropped my daily goal from 1540 to 1200 (plus 400 cals for BF) and started to see the scale move much faster!! It is a bit of a numbers game. I often see little gains which are frustrating on days…
  • Just did the Monster Dash 10 mile last month (7 weeks post-partum), and then was able to do a turkey trot 5K last weekend in 26:23, which was only 30 seconds a mile slower than my PR for a 5k, so happy with this come back after baby. My half PR is a 2:05:47, so I hope to beat that and maybe even aim for a sub 2:00 half…
  • 5'4 and goal is 145 (size 8 and solid) . I have been down to 138 in my adult life, but this is almost impossible for me to maintain (eating <1600 cals and exercising daily just to maintain). I averaged in the 150s even in high school. I would say I have a medium to large frame and decent muscle mass.
  • Pre-pregnancy weight 154 Weight day baby was born 178 Day after 171 6 days PP 164 (and in my pre-preg jeans) 10 weeks post-partum 152 I have been tracking calories and did run a 10 mile race at 7 weeks PP, started running regularly 2 weeks PP, and at 6 weeks PP started a lifting routine. A bit crazy, but it seems to be…
  • I am not seeing anyone with a goal weight as high as mine... however, I would be pretty solid at 140!! Mom of 3 including a 10 week old baby, Working full-time and breastfeeding. I run about 4 half marathons a year and started lifting about a month ago 3+ times a week. Highest weight: 192 (in 2004) Current weight: 152 Goal…
  • I am 10 weeks post-partum and back to pre-pregnancy weight. I gained about 25 lbs during the pregnancy. I have been tracking everything I eat. Initially I aimed for 1900 calories but then added in exercise. I plateaued a few weeks ago for about 2 weeks and decreased my calories to 1600 plus exercise. I have not had any…
