I don't see why you shouldn't. Would you say that a muffin is 400 calories but if you counted it you would have to starve? When you want to lose weight you have to be honest with yourself. Alcohol is second only to fat when it comes to calories. How difficult is it to drink water instead of beer?

5'9, goal weight is 176, ideal weight is 154 154 is based on the BMI charts for ideal weight for my height. 176 was based on me thinking that's a good weight, but that's probably the weight I should be once I trim down then put on more muscle.

According to American studies you should drink 2 litres/8 cups of water a day. So 250ml.

My aim is to drop about 3lbs a week. So far my weight lost per week has been from 0.5lb up to 9lbs. So saying it's what I expected would be to lie. But so far my losses have been very good to me. I'm about 1.5months - 2months ahead of where I planned. I'm not sure if there's been any difficulties, apart from maybe me being…

mankit2k5, mankit is my first name, and 2k5 as in 2005, is the happiest year of my life.

If the majority of your customers aren't gluttons then yes, you could do well. How come bars that tell customers to call it a day because they had too much can stay in business? Because only a handful go way past their limit.
-
No, but in Britain if someone's had a few too many to drink then the barman can refuse to sell them anymore drink. So instead of letting one man by himself order 4 lbs of steak and two sides of fries, that's also washed down by a 64 oz soda, you could use some common sense and tell the guy to chill out a bit.
-
I think if it's less of the forced approach and more education then it would be better. If the customers had more of an idea of what they're eating and what they're doing to themselves then it would help.

These are actually the tactics that bigger companies use to make more money. To be honest they don't care if everyone turns 50 stones because of them.
-
Seem right ethically, but left to their own devices some people will eat themselves to the grave.
-
Wow, this is misguided. Too much fat makes you fat, too much carbs make you fat, etc The whole calorie count part of the website and app is there for a reason. Too many CALORIES make you fat. What's important is to get enough of each macro nutrient. Also try and get enough vitamins and minerals from your food.

When you're cooking "healthily", you're not trying to remove calories. It's more about not adding calories. Grilling is healthier because it doesn't need much oil, just a brushing will do. For meat, cut off any visible fat. Make substitutes, such as edam instead of cheddar.

I don't see the point in weighing myself to track my progress any time other than first thing in the morning, probably after the morning poo. Why? Because then you'll be weighing the water you drink or the food that you eat.

I tend to have/make dinner at about 6pm. Don't know if it's like a rule to me or just something I do. Each to their own I say.

Forgot to mention, strength training preserves muscles.
-
If you only get your deficit from what you're eating (or not eating) you could very likely end up eating your muscles too. So instead of being slim and fit looking you could look like someone who is ill. I'm not completely sure about this part but, I believe exercising is the only way you can lose your visceral fat, this…

Yeah, I just found out how earlier

Can't be forgetting the water bottle now can we?

How come my weight chart thingy doesn't show up? I've checked on privacy in settings. Help?

I thought I was the only one that used labels on containers of food lol The cafeteria problem with temptation doesn't really work on me. My house is filled with junk like crisps, sweets and biscuits. My only problem would be KFC, I actually crave those hot wings :'-( but you've got some good suggestions there. Thanks

I'm not sure actually. I've not been there yet. Umm I think they would. I'll see if they do and see what they have on offer. Eating one vegetarian meal a day shouldn't be that bad.

I guesstimate the weight of the bone, but always make the value a bit lower. If you're trying to lose weight then the aim is to consume less calories. You might be cheating yourself out of say 50 calories, but it will help you reach your goal just that tiny bit quicker.

Turkey's the best I think

Totally agree, Morrisons sell "snack portions" of almonds. When I read the nutrition info in the back I found out it was just over 450 calories. Seems like quite a few calories for a "snack" :noway:

Brown rice and grilled chicken with a tonne of veg. Probably one of my favourite meals.

Swam an hour this morning at half 7. Might put in a bit of weights later on.

Salt and chilli chicken wings. I've been a good boy and not touch any junk food or takeouts for a month now.
