Yep, it definitely can. Happened to me too a few times. I'd personally recommend you ignore the doctor this time. Increase your exercise intensity. If you're going to the gym that often and nothing happens then it probably means your body is too used to the routine now.

Unfortunately some people are just like that. Some of my relatives are kind of like that. When someone seen my progress picture and commented on it, one of them would interject and tell them it was done on photoshop. Another time, when they were watching an MTV programme about obese teens turning fitter, they would keep on…

I'd say lower the weight to one that you can do properly right now, then build up from there, but don't stop what you're doing
-
Yeah, I'd recommend using lighter weights until you have the form correct. This'll have two effects: 1. to get your body used to the form 2. so your stabiliser muscles can get stronger That's why when you squat or bench press with a smith machine your weight can be higher than without any assistance.

Not sure if this is only for girls, but 22yo, and a half if I'm pushing it :-P

Your tanlines are going to be quite funky. Personally I wouldn't wearing it

My stats are almost bang on the same as your ones. I'm 22 years old, 211lbs and 5' 9

Yeah, I keep thinking that's only RMR. Technically makes it worse for me, It puts at 2560 maintaining. Which would mean I'm destined to be this weight :'-( :)) Gym every other day by the look of thing, for ever.
-
I question this equation a bit. It's said that the average male should be living on 2500 calories per day (UK, not sure about US and rest of the world). It says I maintain on 2136. Can that be right? I mean, obviously these equations are never 100% right, I know that. But I'd assume it would be a much higher number.

Yeah, so there's a poster above that said "blah blah blah, I have someone on my list that's logged this, they're so overweight so it's not possible, therefore I call bull****", this isn't the direct quote by the way. Ever heard of willpower or perseverance? I was round about 280lbs when I did this. Just because you can't,…

I've only got one thing to say, fresh turkey meat will be your new best friend

you can barely walk properly because your leges hurt so much, and you have to hold on to things to sit down.

I swim first thing in the morning before lectures. I tend to eat AFTER I've finished. But even eating before the swim I've not noticed any difference to my performance at all. I base this on the records I keep. I take note of the number of length in an hour, my quickest length time and highest number of continuous lengths.

I don't know much about this stuff, but I'd assume you shouldn't diet yet. After giving birth you should be letting your body rest.

Most/all of the responses so far are kind of misinterpreting the question. She's asking how can people burn so many calories per day via exercising. That's not got anything to do with the calories you need during the day to live. Basically, when you start exercising from a long period of doing nothing it starts off…

Well I've not been to the gym for a month of uni work, plan to go back again. Not sure that really counts.

I thought you looked great/hot in the original picture. But well done, amazing work on getting to your goal.

Fried chicken wings I'd say. But there's also lamb and duck too. Generally high fat content foods.

I like to stir fry it with some kinda meat then mix it with udon noodles. Works in soup too. To be honest it works the same way as broccoli or spinach, treat it how you would them.

I've read that to lose weight 3500 kcals are equal to a pound, but to gain it it takes about 4200 kcals or so. So that's a large percentage gone. Also, a ridiculous amount of energy is used up to heat up the human body. In physics it's said that it takes 1 kcal(or kjoule, can't quite remember) to raise 1kg of water by 1°C.…

Sorry, thought you meant abs, as in muscle. Emm, for a guy I think 2-5% is the essential limit.
-
Think the question should be what's the max fat % allowed. I've heard it to be 7%. But that's for someone with very little muscle mass in that area. You can build up you abs and make them visible at maybe 10%, but that's at a big push I think.

Thanks. I'm thinking of getting one and using it for breakfast and as "snacks" kinda thing. Just something to keep me occupied during the day between meals.

Yeah, I tend to be expressionless in most pictures, or worse, frowning.
