Very interesting article on triathletes gaining weight on 900 calories a day and from protein shakes. It is becoming a common occurrence. Typically the average professional athlete eats a lot. http://www.outsideonline.com/fitness/bodywork/performance-plate/If-Youre-Not-Eating-Enough-You-Might-Gain-Weight.html

I think she should listen to her body. If it doesn't agree with her, don't eat it. Some people can not eat upwards of 12-20 foods. They then show research and studies to others to show them what to eat. Another person will give a contradictory opinion and tout studies. Glycemic index also changes when combining foods but…

I had high cortisol level for close to a year. Got blood work tested 3 times in a day. It was from consuming under 2000 calories with all the exercise I did. Also from stress in general and over analyzing lots of situations. I did a complete 180. Lowered exercise and went to the gym three times a week instead of 6. Took a…

I just get in my lbm in protein and fill in the rest. Otherwise I get to OCD lol.

Yes go and check a Doctor. Even if you were to make a mistake of 500 calories while estimating, you should lose something while being 300 pounds.

Ok thanks, makes sense. Hope Durianrider doesn't get this:laugh:

Can I hear your answer about the African Children. Would like to seriously know. I know Cushings causes a similar condition on under 1200 calories a day.

Can anyone explain to me why when I watch the charity programs about African Children, they have protruding stomach, while Holocaust victims do not? Both are in starvation mode but look different. Here is a url, I don't know how to add a image in on this website.…

Trueray, you use the words "I guess" and "hopefully". You have to be decisive in your action. The word motivation means the general desire or willingness of someone to do something. Find the root cause of why you want to be healthy and workout. There must have been a trigger that caused you to begin and keep going for a…

Well I think first you have to make the choice to be happy. No one can make you happy unless you change your mindset to get that out of yourself. Find something you love outside of working out. Maybe it is a hobby, a movie, meditation, playing certain sports that you wanted to do as a kid. When you make the choice to be…

The more you know, the more you realize how much you really don't know. Relax and enjoy the food! Typically a healthy body will tell you how much to consume based on activity level.

You could add them to your regular pancake recipe. The addition usually adds some good flavor depending on your protein powder.

I tend to think of metabolism being like a furnace. The key is to keep calories just high enough to get the maximum fat loss, but not to low that fuel will not wan't to be burned. It takes energy to burn energy lol, seems ironic but it;s true.

Yes check for a gym in your university. I know most schools have sports clubs and drop in, and some even have scales in the change room.

I was in the same situation as you about 2 years ago. I was eating 2500 calories and spent about 1 hour a day running. On top of that I was lifting weights. I decided to go to the doctor and check my cortisol level which is the stress hormones level and they were three times as high as they should be, both morning and…
