I still do not understand how the differences can be so varied. How she can be more far more active according to her Fitbit, yet MFP gives me more than twice the adjustment. For instance, today she has about 5000 more steps than me, and some of that was while working out, so her activity level was high for about an hour,…

Never mind. For some odd reason it just finally made an adjustment of a bunch of calories.

Odd, my fitbit adjustments still are not showing up. The only thing I am seeing is if I manually enter in an exercise. I know from how it worked in the past that I should have an adjustment showing up today for as active as I have been, but there is nothing. I still show the fitbit app as installed, and on fitbit it still…

I do now. Thanks for that.

The idea is that if you eat those calories back, and do not go over, you will still lose 1 pound a week (or whatever your goal is). The idea is that you should reach a calorie deficit needed to see your weight loss goals for that week. Now, if you do not eat up those calories, you will reach your goal faster due to a…

If you figure in some assumptions, it takes on average 10 calories per pound to maintain a weight. So, it would take 2480 calories per day to maintain your weight, or 17,360 per week . Now, consider that you need a calorie deficit of 3500 to lose a single pound of fat. IN 7 days, you take in a max of 10,150 in calories. In…

What others have said, you may be too low on calories. Another suggestion may be to eat for your goal weight, and not eat to lose weight. Figure approx. 10 calories per pound * your goal weight, and start there. A possible upside to this would be that once you hit your goal, you do not have any adjustments to make. Well,…

For now, my warm-up song for the elliptical is Walk by Pantera. At the moment, I am using anything around 120-130 BPM. For me, I do much better if I can be in rhythm with the music. I feel I will be moving up to 130-140 soon, so I will have to redo my list, again.

What I have read is that your skin is an organ. It will expand and shrink as needed. If you gradually lose weight, the skin should do a pretty good job of getting back into place, without having to deal too much with a lot of hanging skin. Lose it fast, and it should snap back into place, but there will be a time you have…

Not to call it a cheat day, but counting calories is really not a daily total. It should be considered an overall total in your life. If you are cutting 500-1000 calories a day for a week, consider you have a deficit of 3500-7000 calories over that period. Consider what dining out is going to do to that total. Not too much…

I know what you mean. When I first did the math, I could not believe it. Then I considered that what I was doing was working, and I was losing weight, so all is good. I just needed to adjust my perception of how my body of burning calories.

I agree. Take a day and go to 1500 or 1800 calories. Change up your exercises a bit.

I think that people are becoming too sensitive anymore. If you decline, no one should be offended, unless you specifically requested it, and they then went to the trouble to provide it. The same thing goes for invites to about anything. When I got married, I sent invites to people that I would like to have had there. If…

Sometimes I think that is the best way to start. There can be so much info thrown at you that you just get confused. While just considering calories in vs calories out can work for weight loss, that does not mean it is healthy. Generally, it should be healthier than not. For instance, if you eat one big cheeseburger and…

Dehydration is one cause. I think it is more of the sickly yellow. Bright yellow is the body passing out Vitamin B and carotene that did not get absorbed. Foamy urine is proteins being released. This could be bad, but for men, they find it is common due to standing, and the force of the stream. (I actually read that on…

You know, eating that burger is not a big deal, unless your calorie limit is 870 calories a day. =) Seriously, do not get down for a day of temptation. Do not worry if you go over for a day. I mentioned this in another post, and I offer it here for consideration. It is the excess calories eating over the years that cause…

I had that earlier this year, and am getting it again. I did find that when I worked out, I actually did not cough as much. That said, when I went to the Dr. the first time, it was strep. Ten days of antibiotics to clear it up. I think this time is just a cold, but it is acting like the other time. Sore throat, coughing…

Yes, as long as you do not get down on yourself. Just like how excessive calories over years lead to weight gain, a deficit over years will lead to weight loss. Maybe just look at the day to day as a guide. If you go over, or under, no big deal, at least you are keeping track. Extend the time out to a week or a month etc…

One thing I have found with my wife and I doing this is that the last thing you want to do is to cut more calories. My wife has a habit of not eating much during the day, and this will cause her to plateau. Once she ups her calories a bit, she starts losing again. For me, I find my weight loss is springy. What I mean is…
