Are you new to working out? You are probably building muscle which weighs more than fat. Don't give up, you will eventually see results. Also, if you haven't done so already, be sure to drink plenty of water. Water is one of the best tools in weight loss. When I first started this weight loss journey my body wouldn't shed…

I am 58 years old and started this weight loss journey last September....almost a year later and I'm down 54 lbs and am 3 lbs from my goal. I won't lie, it has been and continues to be hard work and dedication. For the most part I journalize every day. Exercise is an absolute must for my success. I usually will walk about…

I have an iphone and use an app called Endomondo - it's a free app and syncs with MFP. I do believe you can also use this app with an Android phone. I love it. It will tell you the distance you walked/run, the number of calories you burn, will show you a map of the route you took, can set it up to count steps (I don't use…

Why not take a measuring cup and see how much it takes to fill the thermos. If it takes 16 oz you know you've had 2 glasses of water, etc. Keep a tally of how many times you fill the thermos and multiply it by the number of cups the thermos holds. Pretty easy.

I am a walker......running is just not my thing. I try and walk 4+ miles on the days I walk. Use the sports tracker, Endomondo which will sync with MFP. Today's calorie burn was 883 calories - 1:00.13 (time) 4.17 miles....that's not a bad workout in my opinion. Keep up the walking it has GREAT results.

Great job - congrats!!

What an inspiring story......ironically I started MFP in September because I do am expecting the arrival of my first grandson. I want to be a healthy grandmother. Thanks for sharing your story.
-
Feel free to add me....I've been at this for a couple of months and love MFP....I still have about 40 lbs to lose as well.
-
Congratulations....job well done. Keep up the good work.

I'll be honest, I've worked out pretty faithfully for the last 18 years or so (yes I'm old...haha). I can't say that I love working out, but now that I'm incorporating healthy eating along with it I do feel much more motivated to do it. I love how I feel, both phyically and mentally, after a good workout. The big plus with…

My feeling is that this is for life.....are you never going to eat candy ever again....I think not. So go ahead and have a "small" indulgence....track it....enjoy it and move on. If guilt is getting to you plan a little extra cardio into your day. ENJOY!!!!

They are inconsiderate fools....my mother use to always say "What goes around, comes around".....let them eat crow when you're the skinny girl on the block. Keep running, keep your head held high and ignore these stupid jerks.

Thanks!! Looks great.

Fruit is an excellent snack. It also helps satisfy the need for something sweet.

I do a lot of walking. I use a free app on my Iphone called Endomondo. It has a built in GPS which will track the route you walk, the average speed and the fastest speed you've walked (or run) and it will calculate the number of calories you have burned. It also will tell you what elevation you have walked. I love it. I…

I have an open diary - please feel free to add me if you would like.

You can create your own exercise. I suggest wearing a heart rate monitor while doing your exercises that way the number of calories you burn will be figured out for you. I did exactly that today while I was doing over 3 hours of yard work - I sure as heck didn't want to not record that. Turned out that I burned over 1100…

Congratulations.......you look incredible!

I'm sending a friend request.....you'll do it - it's a tough road but with a lot of support you'll get there.

Good for you - you should feel very proud - job well done!!

I'm really trying to figure this net thing out. The recommended daily calories for me is 1200. I try and work out doing something 5-6 times a week averaging around a burn of approximately 600+ calories. I do not eat back my exercise calories figuring it will result in a faster weight loss. I'm I wrong. Is eating just the…
