Sorry-had to add...roasted veggies are like crack. I've often made a whole meal of the roasted brussels sprouts and some hard boiled eggs. Nom.

If they're fresh, you really don't need a sauce-ROAST THEM  Seriously! 3 cups brussels sprouts (halved), toss with 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil. Throw on a sheet pan (foil covered to save dishes), season with salt and pepper (I like coarse salt) and roast in a 400 degree oven for 12 minutes. Stir. Roast for…

No denying she's gorgeous... She's also very...very wrong.

Nuts and nut butters are naturally high in fats...more mono/polyunsaturated but some saturated...cashew butter is delicious-one of my favorites. I believe almond butter is a little lower in saturated fat.

I'm not really trying to lose weight...it may be a pleasant side effect. I'm planning to do a half marathon by the end of winter. So maybe a 10 mile by Christmas?

Hooray! Next up, 10K annnnddd....GO!

More or less. Her boyfriend is a tool too.

Your poo waiting until you're on mile 5 before deciding "OH! It's time for you to go!"

Have come REALLY CLOSE...very uncomfortable feeling.

AMEN...horrible HORRIBLE idea...hung over and dehydrated usually go hand in hand.

Glacier National Park. Breathtaking... makes me homesick just looking at it.

Times I've come close to barfing while running: 1.) When I first started running. I had to stop and walk every 0.5 miles or so...and often felt like puking. 2.) When I'd eaten a heavy meal (eggs and pancakes) right before running...big mistake 3.) When I was constipated...I didn't puke but felt darn close. Never ended up…

I can do more moves and do them more easily (pole)...I can run faster...I can run longer...my blood sugars behave better. Nice side effect is dropping a few pounds that I gained when I moved out here and was lazy/not exercising. I feel more like myself when I don't have those pesky extra pounds hanging on.

The weekend staycation/getaway that's close by is also a great one. My husband and I went through a rough patch not long after we got married...we found a B&B about 1.5 hours away from us...stayed just one night, went to a romantic dinner...it was a little indulgence, but if you don't have the money for that maybe do a…

Wholeheartedly. Who wants to quit their jobs, move to glacier park and start a bakery with me...nobody? Any takers?

OP Said "I" 25 times in the first post...unless I miscounted. I didn't even start on "My" or "Me" or "myself..."... This should be a clue.

Good point. Also being open and having a conversation-allowing her to express her feelings and have a discussion about it...not just making her ok with how the situation is.

Nice! As someone who was new to running as of last summer (2013, that is), I know how frustrating, scary and difficult it can be to begin running...hated it all through high school and college...now I can't WAIT for my morning run in the crisp air with nothing but the trail and my music. I think it's TOTALLY do-able, but…

Then why are you telling us, dude? Go get her flowers, take her away for a romantic weekend and apologize for being so self centered. Tell her you want to look good for her....open up a dialogue. And not with us total strangers...

^ This. I mean "ideal weight" doesn't always mean anything-nor does BMI 100% of the time. By both of those standards, a gymnast (who are mostly muscle, very low BF%) is overweight... Go by fitness instead of getting stuck on the number.

We have one dozen hard boiled eggs in our fridge plus another 2 dozen not cooked at any given time. We love eggs at this house. And because we're both so physically active, it's not like our cholesterol is suffering at all. Love them. Just had one for breakfast/pre run meal!

Was going to ask this same question (even though it seems it's been asked a million times)...but mostly because I'm working on fueling DURING my run...my blood sugar drops (to dangerous levels-I'm a type I diabetic) during the middle-end of my run and then I can't accomplish the mileage I want... I consumed a LOT before…

That worked!!!! Fueling, baby...a lot of fueling the whole time.

Thanks so much, Lynn! I also spoke with my sister yesterday (she did the Boston marathon a few years back) and everything I've read also says fueling is really important for all athletes, but for a Diabetic, timing might be a little different. I bought some fun size snickers bars so I'm going to see if one of those 20…

Thank you so much for the great information-I'll be sure to go check it out. It really is helpful. I'd love to, by this time next year, do a marathon...it may be longer than that before I can do one...maybe a half triathlon. My goal this year was to do the tough mudder, but my entire team quit so I'm going to try to join…

Oh my gosh you rule...thanks so much for all the references! I'll look at them immediately!
