"My response to that would be "Please get your hands off me NOW. Thank you." Repeat as often as necessary. You don't have to let them treat your body as public property" That would be my response as well. In most jurisdictions, that would be considered assault. On any level that is incredibly rude. Slap their hand away…

Please go over there. Everybody there is focused on their own fitness regimen, but will be more than glad to help you with form and exercises if you ask them.

Find another trainer. You need to start lifting, and you need someone to help you with proper form, to keep it interesting, and to push your limits without injuring yourself. The days of 5 lb weights and lots of reps are long gone.

I lost 38 pounds on WW back in the Eighties through an at-work class, but ended up putting all that on plus more. I am now working with a registered dietician and an exercise physiologist, and have lost 55 pounds since working with them. I found WW classes outside of the small group to be too big and too frustrating…

I did WW a little over 20 years ago, and hit goal weight. Due to a chronic illness, I gained all my weight back and more. I had been doing WW at work when I hit goal, and started going to WW meetings elsewhere, but I found it very frustrating. The meetings were crowded, and if you weren't first in line to get weighed in,…

When I initially started on this weight loss journey, I lost 10 pounds the first week by eating meals only, and cutting out any candy, chips, and fast food. I would say that maybe two pounds of that was actual loss, the rest, water weight. I was cautioned by my nutritionist not to expect more than 1.5 to 2 pounds a week. I…

Bravo! It's hard coming back from such a profound injury. Best of luck!

I log as I go. I log my breakfast first thing in the morning at my desktop, log on my cell phone while I am out for the day, and finish logging before I go to bed. I sync all devices.

This...so this. I love my breakfast, and it keeps me full for hours. Depending on the size of the banana and the amount of fresh berries, it usually runs about 320-360 calories. I fit my other meals around this: 3/4 cup plain nonfat yogurt (170 g) 3/4 cup Nature's Path Flax Plus cereal (30 g) 1 small banana Hand full of…

Save your money and learn how to normalize your eating and exercise. If you don't solve the head game, you will always lose the weight game.

Make mash out of cauliflower and parsnips. Cut cauliflower into large florets and steam the cauliflower until you can stick a fork into them easily. Peel and cut parsnips into large chunks and put into boiling water until tender. Mash the two together (I use a stick blender), adding salt, cracked black pepper and nutmeg to…

I made a hash for my husband and I by offsetting the amount of potatoes with equal amounts of diced zucchini and yellow summer squash. 1 T olive oil 1/2 medium zucchini, small dice (about 1 1/2 cup) 1/2 Yellow summer squash, small dice (about 1 1/2 cup) 1/2 large yellow onion, diced 1/2 large bell pepper, diced 5 baby new…

First of all, if you are taking meds, work with your doctor on a plan to wean yourself off. It will involve making changes in your diet and exercise. You cannot do this on diet alone. Exercise will help to lower your A1c levels dramatically. I dropped mine by nine points after I was told that my A1c levels were high normal…

Congratulations, and best of luck on your journey to a new way of life! Set an immediate goal, such as logging your food and exercise for today. Repeat. Once a week, add something new, such as adding a new healthy food, a new addition to your exercise regimen, or learning how to prepare healthier meals. You did not gain…

Strength training will get you there. If you are concerned about the waist, do exercises that target the obliques.

Emilia, when eating becomes a mental struggle, it's time you reach out for help. It was brave of you to post your concerns. Good start. Find yourself a registered dietician that works with athletes.

Thank you!

I do a green bean side dish that my husband loves. I sauté 1/2 c of diced onions in some olive oil, and add crushed garlic and tomatoes, along with some oregano and basil, with salt and pepper to taste. Steam the green beans until crisp-tender, then add the beans to the tomato mixture. I also microwave spaghetti squash,…

There is a good reason why WW is in trouble. It's expensive, for starters. Secondly, they are always reinventing the wheel and changing the weight loss matrix. Thirdly, there were always long lines to weigh in, and the "weighers" always had to chit chat. The lecture usually started shortly after folks started weighing in,…

That was my ins Thanks! My instinct as well. It will be a little bit of time before I am swimming like Michael Phelps, but I generally don't eat back all my exercise calories, anyway. My nutritionist and I have talked about how MFP inflates exercise calories, so while I am still in weight loss mode, I keep that to a…

Count everything, especially if you are calculating recipes. I made a hash a couple of nights ago that was made more filling due to the addition of chopped onions, zucchini, summer squash, mushrooms, and bell peppers that supplemented the reduced amount of diced potatoes and low fat sausage that I was using. Came out to…

I second this. MFP has an awesome recipe calculator that I use all the time. I can tweak my recipes to eliminate unneccesary fat, sugar, and salt, but still maintain flavor. Instead of that protein bar, which is really nothing more than a dressed up candy bar, have a piece of fresh fruit and a small piece of cheese, or…

Try woodchops with a kettle bell or Russian twists with weights. Save your money.

"I'm not ready to give up yet. Today I ate more fat in the morning meal to stave off hunger (MCT oil, olive oil), but that also means it is 10:30am and I have 350 calories left for the entire day!" What IS your daily calorie goal? My breakfast consists of yogurt, a banana, cereal, a handful of blackberries, and a handful…

I would suggest that you see an endocrinologist.

Try what my dietician suggested: Take 100 calories per day off your suggested daily amount, exercise, and don't eat back exercise calories. Worked for me.

"One thing to keep in mind is that 1200 kcal per day IS starvation. In the Minnesota Starvation Experiment in WWII the participants were fed 1,560 kcal, and they lost about 25% of their body weight in 24 weeks. Because that is what happens when you put people in a famine situation. Famine. And that was with 360 kcal more…
