Unfortunately no... Not even "Sorter of the Stool" or "Squisher of the *kitten*" It was simply "Nurse" :drinker:

We only use gloves for contact sparring - bag and focus pad is bare. But then our focus is being able to punch a real person without gloves so it's pointless using gloves which actually teach bad habits (ever tried to make a proper tight fist in boxing gloves?)

Weighing? That's easy! I used to work in a toxicology unit and we had a drug packer in - for a week I had to get this guy to cr*p in a pan then glove up and break it all apart looking for "residue"

I think the watch unit is water resistant (there is no such thing as water "proof" - even my dive computers are described as water resistant). I don't think the HRM side will function in water as the conduction properties will change and you won't get a stable reading - that said my FT7 is badly behaved now anyway :-(

A lot of it is just the "vibe" - how comfortable do you feel? Is safety a concern in the class? - we have safety in training emphasised regularly and causing a serious injury (such as broken bone) on your partner will cause you to fail a grading - immediately Is it a group who seem to want to learn and enjoy what they are…

Krav Maga here. I started last May to give me a form of exercise I could stick with (I get bored easily at the gym). I have done other styles on and off, but I am now 39 so this would be a "late start" I found even the warm-ups challenging when I began but now I can complete even a double session :-) Be prepared to push…

Just outside Birmingham. Started at 104kg last May, now maintaining at mid 70s kg thanks to MFP and Krav Maga :-) Feel free to add me

West Midlands, now maintaining after losing over 30kg with MFP :)

Most grains and pulses are dried weight. My normal rice portion is 50g dry (less than recommended 75g) and that comes to 178 calories Edit - the problem with weighing it cooked is rice is absorbent; so rice cooked for 12 min, weighs less than rice cooked for 14min or 16 min and so on!

It was easy for me - I work in front-line Emergency Room, my work shoes are high leg Magnum Protector public order boots. Very comfy walking around for a 13h shift, still comfy when you have to drop you car off at a garage for service and walk home 6 miles after said 13 hour shift! :-) Not really office shoes though...

Krav Maga I started purely to get into an activity I could enjoy and continue with (I find the gym mind-numbingly boring). When I started last may I was 104kg (229lb) at 5'10 with a 39" waist. I could't complete 2 push-ups. As I got into it, I got more and more hooked (meaning I now go training with a huge bag full of…

Made a lovely spicy chicken slop in mine today whilst I was out training! Half remembered recipe from one of the MFP posts... 2 large chicken breasts 1 Pot of salsa 1 Pack of taco seasoning All thrown in together and cooked on Low for about 6-7 hours. Then shredded the chicken and served in tortillas. Nice but the taco…

By Sam Sheridan? I'll have to check it out - thanks.

There are drills in Krav that aim to help with this, but you never really know how you'll react until crunch time. For an insight into it it's well worth reading Meditations on Violence by Rory Miller.

I train in Krav Maga and the level of workout you get depends on the class and the instructor. Some classes I don't break a sweat (generally more technical sessions) others I feel like I'm going to die by the end of the warm-up! I did a few sessions with a HRM on and got an average calorie burn of about 550 cal/hr (which…

I'm in Birmingham, but my dad was from St. Helier

Cool-down cake, is that like an ice cream cake?

I have found I have gone from one to the other - I used to be an emotional eater (and drinker) but have now gone the opposite way and although I still sometimes think "miserable -- eat" I tend to avoid eating instead. Still working on finding a happy balance Hope you're OK

Another representative for Brummagem here :-)

+1 to this, I'm on week 8 of the basic workout plan.
-
I'm following the Basic plan from You Are Your Own Gym at present.

Well said - if *YOU* want implants, for your own reasons - why not? However, if you think they'll make you more attractive - or some other external reason, think carefully...
-
Two thoughts, one facetious one genuine... The facetious one - more than a handful is a waste! The genuine - I've looked at your profile pics and you have a great figure, from what I can see your breasts are in proportion with your waist/hips. You have a great body so why go under the knife?

Wrap it in foil with some lemon slices

Enjoy, I'm going to Israel for Krav Maga training and some sightseeing in May 2013 - can't wait!

Mondays here, unless I work Sunday night then I do it on Tuesday

I've done 30DS level 1 and it kicked my *kitten*!

That's because we're used to "plugging things in"!
