Yes, I think it's too low if you do any amount of exercise! I've been on 1200cal for almost a yr... It's taken a toll on my health! I never asked and didn't realize I needed to take my exercise into account and adjust my calorie intake... Don't make the mistake I did and wait until you have physical symptoms of…

Thanks so much!! I've been sticking to diet foods so much it just feels automatically programmed into me now, I'll have to make it a point to switch to some normal things. I'm not sure what I did to you but I'm not a "troll". Not that I have to explain myself but I downloaded the mfp app a year ago(never decided to check…

The kayaking, SUP, and walking my dog I do for fun... The other 90mins on the elliptical is more of an obsession, but I'm slowly working on it... Couple days I only did 85-88mins.
-
I know I obsess over my exercise... It's kinda taken over my life, but I just can't stop. I'm hoping to fix the problem w/ finding ways of eating more
-
Awesome suggestions! Thanks so much everyone, I'll try them all! And I'll definitely check out that website too... I need all the help I can get! Lol
-
That's a relief! If it didn't count I think I'd never be able to leave the bathroom w/ all those liquids lol
-
I'll try adding things like nuts. I'm calling my dr tomorrow too so maybe she can offer some tips. I think my calorie deficit has caused some hair loss, cold hands all the time, hypertension, and easy bruising :/ so I definitely need to eat more whether I'm hungry or not..
-
Usually I just drink water so I'll try adding drinks with calories. If I drink other things, do I still need to drink 8cups of water a day? That's a lot of fluid! Lol
-
I usually stay full for a long time but I'll try adding more snacks in. I don't want to cut back on exercise so I definitely need to find a way to eat more. I can't just not eat when I'm not hungry, it's taking a toll on my health :(
-
Just in the last two days I've started drinking a protein shake and eating a protein bar but w/ that I'm still -2000
-
And I usually walk my dog for an hour a day but I don't enter that in as exercise. One of my probs is I get full really fast. I really really need to eat more.. I'm just not sure what to do
-
Normally I was getting about 1200cal a day... I do 90mins on the elliptical everyday(sometimes I change it up w/ 90mins of running), and then I usually do kayaking or SUP for 2hrs. I exercise everyday.. No days off. Maybe mfp is exaggerating about how many cal I need?
-
I'll have to give it a try... When I'm feeling ambitious lol Thanks for the tip! :)
-
I'm about 1500 daily on average... Normally 90mins on the elliptical everyday(sometimes I change it up and run instead) and 2hrs kayaking or SUP
-
Someone recommended Mindless Eating to me... I found it full of great info. Not an eating plan type book but still a great read
-
Yep, it could! Lol jk I thought you were suppose to do strength to the point of failure? With some of the exercises it takes forever to get to that point! The repetition bores me to death
-
Ahh.. You listed way too many strength exercises lol I wish they weren't so boring to do!
-
Thanks so much for the helpful replies! I only started kayaking a month ago, I've been out 8x, 2hrs each time so far and SUP 2x, total of 4hrs. So these two things don't replace doing curls? I think strength is soo boring so I was hoping it counted lol
-
I think it's important! I just realized I wasn't eating enough because of my exercise activity... Was eating 1200cal and not taking exercise into account. Right now I bruise really easily and I have a lot of hair damage... This is after like a yr, so if its just one day I wouldn't worry too much but don't make the mistake…
-
If I'm that deficient in calories each day, what will my body do after increasing my intake? Most of the time I'm not hungry and its easy to stay at 1200cal... How do I eat so much more if I'm not hungry?
-
Never paid attention to that before! I only really looked at the "goal" part... Wow, wish I had noticed sooner!! For almost the past yr that means I've been under what I've needed to eat by 2000-3000 calories!! All the times I said no to food when I could've/should've said yes! :(
-
If myfitnesspal is wrong by about 1000 calories for my daily goal, is there a way to change it in the app?
-
Thanks for all the replies! WOW... My daily calorie intake should be about 1000 more than what myfitnesspal told me! No wonder I'm probably malnurished!!
