Thank you!!!

Not gaining it back! It takes constant hawking. And, yes, working around my husband's full-fat, full-meat, heart attack waiting to happen diet.

California. I pay a monthly fee for a place that has classes 3x a week, so since it's so #@&!*(%^ expensive (relatively speaking), I treat it like an academic class. That, and I go before I fully wake up. Motivation comes from liking to not look like a chunk. Plus, running is a lot easier without a massive jiggle factor....

Ha, nope - like the others say, walk away. There are plenty of other guys who are good looking and make money and who won't run your life. Watch for those warning signs right away -- prying into places they don't need to is bad news. Unless you are somebody who wants a codependent relationship.........

Hi, nice to meet you all. I've been on MFP off and on for a few years, but decided in June this year to get serious about that "last 10" (which always seems to slide) and I did the Phormula-1 supplements with MFP tracking and got 10 off but, am bummed to STILL see the "back fat" for cryin' out loud, what is it with that…

Wow! This is fascinating! My mom always said "shop the perimeter because that's what gets replaced most often". But just seeing what is around the perimeter around the country - it's really interesting! So is there like a marketing/grocery organization class or something, or how do stores decide their layouts?

Simple question. What do you eat when you are on those sugar binges? Do you just spoon sugar into your mouth? I've been known to eat brown sugar by spoon in my worst cases. But - I won't say that sugar is not an addiction for ME - and I do pay attention to it after seeing those movies! But I refuse to not have ANY -…

Ha ha ha! This is good entertainment! All I know is that when I'm on a sugar binge, nothing else substitutes, and when I eat a lot of sugar (and I mean a lot), I get fat. However, when I'm out running/hiking/skiing/whatever for 4+ hours and start to fade, sugar brings me right back. "Quick energy" as my mom used to say.…

Isn't there something that says you have to eat "up" at least one day a week to spark the weight loss? I usually end up doing that naturally because I just am not a disciplined dieter - but even when I did weight watchers, doing that seemed to keep me losing. Also, a day of watermelon tends to shake things loose. Ha - but…

What is reverse dieting??? @StevieFishwick and IIFYM? (ha - reverse dieting! I know what it SOUNDS like!!!) :)
-
I've lost around 8 and would love to lose 6 more - body has a set point going with 0-2 pounds down from here (that I've had most of my life)... so being able to get below that would be cool.

I'm late, too. But, close to quadruplets!?! with @SanfordRoberts and @mousemom18 and @fastgirlnyc ! I'm 5' 6.5" HW 145 CW 132 Goal 125-128 I've done some long runs but have found that with slowing metabolism (I'm 56) that running alone wasn't getting the love handles off... so now I'm doing a fit class and religiously…

Well - I work out a lot (run 3-4 miles 2x a week, 10 miles Saturdays, then a fit class 3x/week) -- so you'd think, no PROBLEM, right? Those last 10 pounds thought my waist was "no place like home". So I've really had to deal with diet. Tracking it I found that my love of milk is a big calorie hog, and 12 almonds here and…

Hi! I've been working on that last 10 pounds for the last 10 years! Ok, well, maybe not but it FEELS like it! So, I have been reading about IF, and all the nontruths that I believed ("if you don't eat breakfast your metabolism slows") - and I've been skipping breakfast (but not coffee!!!) a bunch, and slowly it's coming…

My MIL just steams (I nuke it) it, and then melts butter until it is browned (that is the trick - has to be browned but not burnt) - and then pours it over the top. That taste is NOT like melted butter - it's some exotic kind of taste that is super yummy. And I'm not talking like a whole stick of butter. :)

He was a really bad driver.

Clean eating does seem to be the "in" thing to do at the moment - far from a new idea, though. As I try to simplify and detach from processed foods it takes a bit more planning and getting out of the "easy rut". I know so very little about biochemistry -- I mean, sure - read a label, know that XYZ is in it. Or, shake the…

Yeah girl. You can do this! I started 5 weeks ago. Down 7 pounds (give or take -- seen nearly 10, but then it bounces)... Lost 2 inches on shoulders (!) and some tiny bit on my waist (I have a thick waist - always have) (hate it!). After 5 weeks I am seeing kind of a plateauish thing, my motivation is wavering more than it…

research the Venus Factor. If you're healthy, it's a great option - I had been struggling for years with the last 10 pounds, doing lots of cardio, religiously working out, and not making any progress - and this has helped immensely (6# in 4 weeks). Also the book "Eat Stop Eat" is REALLY interesting reading. A lot of what…

My biggest obstacle is somehow, unbelievably, the fear of being thin. I get to the last 10 pounds, and then, somehow, it's "close enough". And then that's it, that's the excuse. I'm 4 weeks into those 10 pounds and have 4 to go, and I can FEEL myself wavering on the determination/motivation. Discipline. I like what Moxie42…

What I've learned is that even if you're active a LOT - if you ignore sugar (because nowadays it is in EVERYTHING) - and you don't pay attention to what you eat -- you'll stay the same. The sugar thing has blown my mind. When did tomato sauce get sugar added in?! Most stuff you wouldn't think sugar would be in - it is. So…

The evil scale! It does make me crazy, too! A necessary evil, though. I try to think longer term than the weekly fluctuations (as long as I don't go over XXX number, I'm still OK - kind of thinking)... because they ARE fluctuations. Besides, I can step on my scale 5 times and get 3 different readings.... :\
-
I'm glad to see somebody else ask this question! I was putting in each piece of the workout - except there aren't entries (are there?) for burpies, jump squats or things like that... uuuugh!
-
Yep, I'm there with you guys. I kind of do the same thing (forever) - I'm active, but my eating habits are frightful. And I'll start out tracking and being fairly good and then BOOM - go crazy eating, don't want to track it, and just stay forever at the same weight. So it isn't exercise that I need motivation on - it's…

Well, if we DID have to walk everywhere, life would be quite a bit different, wouldn't it? Eating local stuff would be the norm, we wouldn't have to "go" someplace to get exercise, and it would be (in some cases) easier to grow/can/make your own food than have to walk X miles to get something to eat. !!! But right,…

Goal to keep momentum when I go home from work... so easy to "be good" when I'm at work, but something about walking through that front door turns me into the food zombie and ... today I don't want to be zombiefied.

I thought San Pelligrino flavored soda-waters were - waters -- drank freely over the holidays until I stopped to look at the side of the can... 150 calories per can?!!! WHAT?!!!!
-
Do we have to admit we're over 50? !!!! I guess when it comes to weight loss, we do... it seems so much harder than even 5 years ago to lose those "few pounds" that keep inching the numbers up... I'm finding for myself it is much more what I eat, not so much the exercise that I do... Darn it! But, glad to be here amongst…
-
Oh boy! Motivation and support all in one! Goals for June - get back off sugar as much as possible (not too hard core, but skip the sugary things and chocolate and cookie dough).. Up the weekend mileage to prepare for half marathon in the local "mountains".. Get more disciplined on tracking, and saying no to junk food.…

Happy Tuesday, everybody! It's a sunny cold day here (well - cold for here - it was 44 this morning!). Had to make that transition from running shorts to running capris... "winter" gloves... but really, guys, it was cold! I think living at 72 degrees makes a person's thermostat stuck so that 50 feels like 20... I'm having…
