No I was really skinny in HS, played soccer and was a bit of a geek.

Ran one last year and am running again in the Pocono (PA) event in June. They are a blast. The important thing is have fun with it, it's huge party. If you want to train, to some trail running and add in some basic body weight exercises, push ups, pull ups, squats, burpees / squat thrusts. That should get you through it.

Glad this is finally back. Favorites are Tyrion, the Wolves, and Commander of the wall, hated to see Ned get killed Hate Joffrey, Littlefinger and a host of others. Last nights episode was a good one to get back into the story, guess I shoudl read the books.

Yep, 48 will be 49 in May. A young lady (24) told me today during Boot camp class I'm not old I'm just experienced. That's now my new favorite description.

Cardio - 5 mile run @ 4:45 AM

Yep this, I like how I feel when I'm done, but necessarily always like every mile I run.

Don't give up on the push up, it is a great exercise. Check out the link below that gives you a progression for push ups, start against a wall, then go to stairs, etc. There's no rush to get to "regular" push ups just take it one step at a time. http://www.scribd.com/doc/31798365/Convict-Conditioning-Charts

About 30 degrees when I ran this morning. It's all about attitude and layering. If you absolutely just can't make it out the exercise bike is a great idea, if you have the ceiling jumping rope is good as well.

Usually 1st of the month in the morning.

Burpees but I still do them as they are a great exercise.

I'm in the same boat and hope to see some answers / ideas. I don't want to lose anymore weight but would like to burn fat and increase muscle size / strength at the same time, if that's even possible. I do a boot camp class 3 and lift 3 days a week, and run 3 days a week . 48 Male 6'1" 202

When it gets tough I just start repeating, "finish the race".

I agree with RJT, if you have a smartphone there are number of apps you can download for free, I use jog tracker. You can generally have the app announce time, distance, pace every 5 minutes so you know where you stand with all three. With jog tracker even if you listen to music while running the announcements are loud…
