  • I finished my one challenge and doing more stretching and yoga and know I need to get walking again. Doing something every day, but have to get more intense. Plans are to step it up after doctor appointments next week. I keep telling myself to follow my plan, but it is so hard at the moment. Thanks for the push.

  • I had such an awful time finding a sports bra, but I did! Essential Bodywear (http://www.essentialbodywear.com/) has representatives that work with you to help you find a bra. I still have to customize it a bit, but since I'm an odd size (38N), I was just glad to find one to fit.
  • Josstuff had some great tips. I began on the elliptical at the slowest speed. Went for 5 minutes and coughed for the next 10. Do what you can. To build speed, work on intervals. I have had some friends rave about C25K apps for their training. I'm slowly getting there. Last summer walking 5K was hard. This year, I want to…
  • Ok, I'm in for this one! I've got 3 miles from Feb 1. I'm working to transition from walking to running. This will help get me moving more. Thanks!
  • Good for you! I am hoping to transition from walking to running and will be participating in my second sprint triathlon in August. I have 2 pairs of running shoes so I will always have a decent pair for running and can alternate the shoes so they last longer. I started with one pair and have my second pair getting broken…
  • My proud moment was going to the gym (not blowing it off) and riding the bike for 15 miles rather than stopping at 10 miles (initial goal for today).
  • There are some really good suggestions for exercising from everyone. Think about what type of activities you enjoy and how you can incorporate movement into your day. I don't think of it as working out, exercising...but as getting healthy. I'm on a journey to wellness, so it is more than just exercising. I began working…
  • Hey Girl, Do not beat up on yourself after hospitalization AND receiving blood. Your body does need time and nutrients to heal properly. Low level activity such as walking, or Wii at a slower speed, will help slowly get you back where you wanted to be. Galprincess had some great suggestions with swimming. I started with…
  • Lizthees, I began walking a loop around my kitchen to get steps in while watching tv. It takes small steps, but each step is better than sitting and getting fatter. If nothing else, put on some music and dance. Get endorphins flowing. If you don't want to walk outside, consider a mall (indoor covered one...I know they're…
  • First of all, you're not alone. Recognizing and asking for help is a huge step. Good for you for that! "Maybe take a few minutes to sit down and write your goals out, things you want to accomplish and let those be the focus that drives you. All the best." by Stareyeyedcar is good along with talking to a professional. This…
  • rosieannaxo, just checking to see how you are doing. It can be so discouraging when family members aren't willing to help. Luckily, as a mom, I was able to say "No food except in the kitchen!" I understand that you would really like their support to eating better, or at least not leaving their food out. If you ask them to…
  • Hang in there. I have the same trouble with sweets. As for your family, recognize their efforts as a control issue. They are trying to control you and sabotage your efforts to live a cleaner, healthier lifestyle because they may feel threatened by a new you. I want to encourage you to do what you can to continue with your…
