THIS^ With a few German beers.

Fantastic work! Way to stay in it for the long term.

I didn't even notice that! Good detective work. I was only trying to provide an answer for the tree thing.

Swimming you probably sweat around .5 liter/hour and another, much smaller amount of water loss through respiration. You can check this yourself if there is an accurate scale at your pool just weigh before and after and do a little arithmetic. I'd try hydrating more before the swim and less after and just be sure to start…

@jopalis - Unless you really hate spinach, you might consider reconsidering. Raw baby spinach won't change the taste much but adds tons of good nutrition. But then, you might not want to listen to me because I drink spinach smoothies *all the time* :)

I've tried it but couldn't stick with it as it was too restrictive for me. Primal was a little more manageable for me because dairy/eggs/legumes are allowed. I would say now I try eating a ( not very strict) Mediterranean/Primal -inspired way as much as possible. But bread, pasta, and beer all make regular appearances.

The following help me keep anxiety manageable: avoid caffeine! get enough sleep eat regular meals- eating more protein and less carbs seems to keep me calmer maintain a regular schedule exercise every day meditation or breathing exercises Also, cognitive behavioral therapy can work wonders if you have specific anxieties.…

Yes, absolutely.

I've found it necessary to moderate alcohol. I limit drinks to weekends and, generally, not more than two per day. If going out, I alternate sparkling water. Finally, I do a couple cuts around 6-8 weeks each a year where I just eliminate entirely.

Fine for weight loss. Strength training is very important too and you can do a lot without a gym. Body weight exercises, dumbell work, kettlebells, etc.

You guys are really ruining this for me; I thought it would be an interesting discussion. I'm out.

Makes sense. Even with the app.. I've argued that it doesn't matter how accurate your calories in/calories out measurements are as long as you get repeatable results. Personally, I lost weight reliably with MFP by setting it up with my stats and goals, logging everything, cutting the calorie burns from exercise logged in…
-
Seems to me the point isn't so much whether it's possible to burn 1000 calories but whether it's likely that the people OP was referring to actually are.
-
@TrailNurse - to be fair though, MFP's calorie estimates can be unbelievable. For example, if I log either 64 minutes of fast/vigorous swimming or 71 minutes of elliptical they each show up as over 1000 calories. I'm not buying it and would edit either of those down quite a bit but I'd expect newbies to log it as is and…
-
I log mine but only because I put milk in. I don't usually log negligible calorie items like ketchup, mustard, breath mints/gum, etc. BUT, when I was actively trying to lose a lot of weight and really learning about portion sizes and my own metabolism I logged absolutely everything.

I like hard boiled to keep around as a convenient snack. Also like scrambled, sunny side up, or an omelet with whatever I have around. But I DO NOT LIKE green eggs and ham!

Why not eat dessert? Q: Should anyone else? A: I don't know. I don't care. Q: Should I? A: I eat what I want. Q: Under what conditions should I eat dessert? A: Whenever I want which for me is when I feel like it and it fits in my calorie goals for the day. And sometimes when it doesn't. I eat a wide range of foods and…

I would think the folks at the gym would be happy you're back.

Not crunchy, but not mushy. Just slightly firm. I like my pasta cooked about a minute less than I think it should be.

Wowza! Nice job :)
-
LOL, you're asking the wrong guy. There are very few thing's I'd eat that were in my fridge for 5 days because I'm uptight about that and tuna's not on that list anyhow :)
-
I haven't tried it but it sound like it would be good. I have used avocado as the fat instead of mayo and that works well but a little high on calories for some.
-
Wow! Congrats on all of it. You look happier, healthier and even younger too :)
-
Not unusual if you're overweight. Often, getting the weight down turns it around. Cutting carbs, as others have said, can help too.
-
Nice job!

Perfection isn't necessary but my tip: review the reasons you want to do what you want to do. Do you still have the same reasons?
-
If you're using the browser version rather than an app it's under My Home>Check-In. In the iPhone app it's under 'Progress' at bottom of screen. Defaults to 'Weight' but click on that to change to other measurements. Could be different for other versions of app.

There's not enough information here for people to help you. If there are nutrients you feel you're not getting enough of, you should track those in MFP (Food>Settings) for at least a few days and that will tell you -if you're logging everything you eat, that is. Otherwise, good general advice would be to mix things up i.e.…
