That's a matter of opinion. The food issue is a matter of fact.

BTW, humans were designed to find food using our brains. It makes a lot more sense to use an animal for food without killing it. Humans have been drinking blood and milk loooong before you and I were put on this earth. To say we weren't designed for milk is just plain ignorant to the facts.

I studied animal science and had an internship at a dairy. Those cows were always very happy. They roamed free, only had to "work" 2 times per day during milking and that was just walking in to get it done. We sold the bulls for $20 and never had a problem getting rid of them. All cows at major dairies are artificially…

The kids with 40+ BMIs might be relieved that they don't have to do it.

Go to Amazon and type in "Prostate bike seat" and you'll get a lot of options. The key is to have a deep channel down the center of your seat. It eliminates all the problems, but still supports you.
-
What's shameful is parents who let their kids get to 40+ bmi. I really do feel sorry for the kids. I can't imagine being excluded from something that's important in my life, but I also understand why it's happening. I just blame the parents instead of the Boy Scouts.

The problem is people overestimate their calorie burn and underestimate the calories in the food they eat. So if you run and think you burn 300 and eat back 300, but you really only burned 250 and ate back 350, that's going to be a problem. Pair that with the fact that most prepackaged foods estimate servings to look lower…

Have you gone through menopause?

Ankle. Make it where if you put on a sock, It doesn't show.

Again, sorry you took it that way, but I wasn't outlining a weight loss philosophy or diet here.
-
I think you quoted the wrong post. I wasn't laying out a diet or exercise plan.
-
If a kid has a BMI of 40+, the parents need to be taking the blame instead of putting it on the boy scouts.

Keep in mind that a lot of what goes around on this website was started a long time ago and passed on as gospel truth. When in doubt, past threads are brought up, and the word spreads until there are a lot of people saying that same thing and it tricks us in to thinking it's true. Here are some things, you need to…

That's the crux of the matter.

Since when has obesity been a disease? I know it can cause disease, but by calling it a disease, does it not make it an excuse for people staying that way?

Run slower. Most people that have a hard time getting started with it are running (and walking) too fast. Slow down and enjoy the process.

Our church offers Crossfit for free. Certified instructors and all the equipment. They also offer Zumba and Kettlebell classes with certified instructors.

There is also no doubt that at the end of a show like Biggest Loser, that there are some overweight people in better cardiovascular shape and with more strength than people that are much thinner. It just sends the wrong message to make it sound like there's no reason to try to lose weight because it's "ok".
-
Someone being fat doesn't bother me. Telling others that it's OK does. It send the wrong message to people that are out looking for answers. On a separate but somewhat unrelated note, it also bothers me when people complain about being fat but then come up with excuses like this to not do anything about it. I don't think…

The chance of you reading something on the 9th page is slim (and it's probably been said before) but I'm going to put this anyway. When you eat less than your body wants/needs, it will get energy (calories) from your body. The problem is that your body isn't dumb. Will it take the fat that burns a few calories a day, or…

I did c25k and lost 30 pounds. It probably took me around 12 weeks to finish because of scheduling and laziness, and I did cut back a little on the food, but that's the main reason I lost it. There's just something about seeing how many calories you burn during a run that makes you look more carefully at what you're…

SKYPE! Video might make all the difference. It would also be easier to "read" him and see if there's a depression problem developing.

Intervals work wonders. C25K is an interval program and it got you up to running 30 minutes straight. Instead of using the jog/walk intervals, why not change it to jog/run intervals. Do the same program from week one but jog instead of walking and run instead of jogging. By the end of the 9 weeks you will be running 30…

It is contributing. You're giving incomplete information that leads people to believe something that isn't normally true. The deductible isn't the only deciding factor, and your limits are from last year, not this one. Googling information and passing it off as financial planning is dangerous to people that take your…

Start with week 1 and jog the walking part and run the jogging part. Go through the whole program that way.

Group health plans are almost exclusively NOT high deductible health plans.

You can't just open an HSA because you want to.

Wow...I just read the last page of this post (page 5) and almost every answer on here is wrong or misguided. PLEASE don't follow advice on here. Most of it has been form bad internet sources with a complete misunderstanding of reality.
