Yep, I discovered the Reports tool for the PC version a few days ago. Awesome.

Thanks for this. I want it to note the cals earned through steps taken throughout an entire day. The majority of these are treadmill steps, some outside of the house, some inside general walking about. I don't want to change my activity level, as the number of steps per day will probably vary quite a bit, so I'd rather add…
-
I'll do that. Thank you everyone for your help :)

I'd simply like to log the exercise, have the calories burnt show up on my food diary, whether or not I eat any/all of them back - in the way that other exercise is logged for other people. I can log walking by the time spent, but not walking by distance. I'm just a little surprised that there doesn't appear to be an…
-
I can do that, but it doesn't then add cals to my food diary. I don't want to eat them all, but I'd like to see them there.
-
Thanks for this, but I don't get how I can alter measurements to log 10/12km of walking? I'm probably being dim, but does what you've linked to make it possible?
-
This is the same as me. I'm at home all day too, and walk 2-3k during a normal, non exercise day. The treadmill steps are a (cool) new thing for me that I'm really enjoying, but I may not want to do this every day, so prefer to work out cals burnt myself, rather than allowing MFP to do it for me. I'm not sure I trust my…
-
Thanks. I'm doing it manually for now, until I'm sure what will become the norm.
-
Yes, now, but only as of a week ago. I'm aware of the irony :)
-
Thanks for your input, everyone. I'll take a look at all these suggestions and see what feels like the best fit for now.
-
My activity level is set to sedentary, because it was until I started all this extra walking. I prefer to keep it this way and track my steps on a daily basis, rather than allowing MFP to do it for me. That way I can account for days when I do fewer steps etc. I do have an activity tracker, but it's not one that I can sync…

Thank you very much. The exercise recommendations are exactly what I need. There are too many variables for a beginner to guess at, so specific suggestions are very valuable. :)
-
Okay, will do. The treadmill walks I do are at 5.5kph. General round the house steps will be slower I expect. I'm not intending to eat them all back anyway, so even applying that equation to treadmill walks only should give me plenty to work on. Thanks again.
-
Thanks for this equation, it'll help. I do have an activity tracker, (not a Fitbit, but a cheaper one that does a similar job) and a calorie tracking pedometer, but I'm pretty sure both wildly overestimate calories burnt and I know they underestimate the number of steps I take by 20%. For this reason, I didn't want to rely…

Thank you! Glad to have an endorsement of my plan. Re the protein, the things I particularly like happen to be high in protein anyway (quark, chicken, turkey, pork etc), so it won't be hard to increase these. I won't stress it though, as you suggest. Heading to Amazon for some fitness bands now :)
-
I've doubled my daily protein goals (120g), upped fat goals and will increase my calories. I'll also purchase some resistance bands (if you think that's a good way to go). I think I'd prefer these over dumbbells but would rather do whichever yields the best results. I need to have a strong word with myself about increasing…
-
I do take your word for it, I take it very seriously. As I've written above, I'm going to start looking at some sort of strength/resistance exercise (I'm inherently lazy and prefer to do this at home, so not sure what would be best), I'm going to increase my calories/monitor the scale and also going to up my protein intake…
-
Thank you. I've been reading a lot this morning, after reading these posts and see that some form of resistance training is pretty much necessary, despite not being keen. Do you know of anything that's relatively easy to do at home (resistance bands?) that might make a difference. I don't want to join a gym. I know myself…
-
I'll also look to increase my protein intake. It's already pretty good, but I'll make a concerted effort to eat higher protein foods to help discourage muscle mass wastage. I'm on medication (for at least the next 10 years) which removes estrogen from my body, so I do need to take extra care over this.…

Thank you to all who responded so knowledgeably. This insight from people who have been there and 'walked the walk' is exactly what I was hoping for. I think I'm going to eat back some of the cals earned (maybe 100 or so to start with) and continue to monitor the scale for this first month of extra exercise. If it moves…

@PAV8888 Thank you very much for the info above, this is what I needed to know. I'm going to re-read what you've written tomorrow and look through the info on your links (it's late here now) to fully grasp what you're saying. I also understand the point in your second post - if effectively undereating now, where do I go as…
-
Solieco1: Nope - you are doing great. Just keep doing what you're doing if its working well. At that calorie rate you should be getting plenty of the nutrients you need Thanks, this is what I needed to know. If somehow the calories burnt through exercise partly negate the 1200kcals of nutrients obtained through my daily…

Height?
I'm 5ft 1". I've always somehow managed to look smaller than my weight would make it seem though, so I'm currently a UK size 14. ETA: I'm really rubbish at using the 'quote' feature, haha. I'll get the hang of it.
-
double post, sorry
-
How much do you weigh? How fast are you losing?
I'm 168lbs, losing around 3-6lbs a month.
-
I don't have a problem not eating them back - I don't feel the need. I log every mouthful, and am successfully losing weight at a rate I'm happy with. I just need to know if because of the kcals I must be burning through walking whilst sticking to my 1200kcals, if I'm endangering myself in any way.
-
I'm on Anastrazole and have been for over a year. I've lost 68lbs now since the end of March without exercise on 1200cals, so it's doable for sure :) Best of luck.

Searching for salad dressings and this thread came up. We can't get many of the delicious sounding dressings you have in the US, but I'm happy to make my own. This evening, I'm gonna try 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar mixed with 25g caramalised onion houmous and a good dash of my newest love, sriracha sauce. Can't wait!
-
Is this available on the PC/website version?
-
You know you've got it bad when you're lying in bed dreaming of new ways of using sriracha to pep up old favourites. Next is hunters chicken with sriracha reinforced bbq sauce. I'll be having it on my porridge next!
