I got that too. They do mention thought that the loss is pretty negligible up to that point. Unfortunately they don't quantify negligible at all.

I don't log anything but my actual exercise but if you want to log it I would log it at lower than what you think it is if you intend to eat back your calories. JMO

I can't fill in the gap because I just listened to the pod cast. The study they discussed was 8 weeks and most of the subjects began losing LBM between 6 and 8 weeks. It was a military study conducted by Carl Friedl. I may look into it further but not tonight. Also it sounds like the study was not aimed at just finding out…

If you measure to find your BMI. Either by measuring your neck, waist, and hips or by using body calipers your breast fat will have zero impact.

You have to listen to the pod cast. The 8 weeks a what % they started losing ect... is in the podcast. I didn't actually read the page I just listened to them discussing the study. It does seem to to back him up though.

Forgive me if this seems a silly question but is it possible at all that there's something wrong with the scale? Barring that I don't have anything to offer the above posters haven't already said. Don't lose heart this is the beginning of a journey we're taking it together and we'll end up in a better place.

My vote is lack of activity combine with shortage of natural foods... ie a lot of processed food and hormone enhanced foods.

That 97/3 ground turkey is a life saver for calorie counting. If you put it in chilli or some type of casserole you really don't notice its turkey.

I frequently get bored with same ol same ol. I came across a recipe for a chicken black bean casserole I'm going to try this weekend. It serves 4 2 tablespoons butter (I do my frying in grapeseed oil or EVOO I prefer grapeseed because it has a lighter flavor) 1 medium onion, sliced 2 chicken breasts, cut into 2 inch pieces…

I looked a that and figured mine... it seemed way high to me it was almost 2000 calories per day if I didn't exercise at all? Can that be right? I think I may keep doing what I'm doing for now until/unless I plateau. The other thing is that won't that make my calculator off all the time? IE it looks like I've gone over my…

Great job Mellie!

I'm sure there will be slight variations to this but in it's most basic form it's eating little to no processed foods. Some people take it further going organic and perhaps even moving to unpasteurized dairy products (if they can get them).

I gained 30 pounds and developed a sugar intolerance just looking at those pictures.

A co worker knows that I'm keeping track of what I eat. My SO is the only one who really knows everything. I actually didn't tell him he came in on me exercising one morning and the jig was up! . He's been really great though. Occasionally he asks "you can eat that?". Then I remind him no specific foods are off…

Great thought provoking post. I am constantly reminding myself not to make this more difficult than it has to be and not to push myself so hard that I burn out (diet or exercise). I tend to jump into things with both feet and sometimes I fizzle out because of it.

WTG! we're having plank issues this week I guess.

I don't eat back all of mine. I usually leave half or more always at least 100.

It should be noted that each counselor is different. I've been to 3 and all were totally different.

It is not a bad idea to try to keep your levels close to whats suggested but I wouldn't break my neck to do it. Try to keep your processed and hidden sugars to a minimum (table sugar, the extra sugar they slipped into your yogurt). I also try to keep my carbs at or just below the level. I really don't worry too much about…

I'm the same way. I tried Stevia thinking it would be different.... it was. Tasted worse than any of them and the taste hung in my mouth for hours. I can tolerate Equal and Splenda if I must but to me they all have a bitter aspirin like aftertaste.

Frozen yogurt is a good one. check the recipes section too. Sugar free pudding made with low fat or non fat milk or maybe almond milk. I think they had a low cal peanut butter cookie recipe on there.
