Agreed! For me, I wouldn't want my SO to say "Hey, you're gaining weight and that's unhealthy" because DUH, how could I not already know that? All that would do is hurt my feelings. I knew I was unhealthy for years, so my SO telling me that would be no big revelation or motivation. Not only that, but it would probably make…

Amy, you just made me lol with "I have decided that my body hates me and hates weight loss so it's just gonna be a huge PIA no matter what." Ha! I'm so glad it's not just me. :) Thanks for the encouragement!!

You SHOULD feel good about your NSV! I don't think anyone was disputing that. I guess in the end whether or not you're with a guy who gets upset when you gain weight or one who loves you at 240 and unhealthy doesn't really matter as far as your heath goes, because when it comes down to it YOU are the one who needs to…

Ok ladies, it's official...I hate the scale. I ate more yesterday in the quest to find the perfect amount of calories to help me lose weight, and this morning the scale said that I GAINED .8. I know what you're thinking; "Stop weighing yourself every morning!" I know, I know. Something else annoyed me too. I realized that…

I dated a guy who would say things in a totally blunt way just like that....if we were still dating, I could definitely see him saying the same thing. That personality grated on me, and after 2 years of dating I dumped him and am now dating a nice guy who makes me much happier. :) Still, even though he was blunt and often…

Like they said, believe it or not, you need to eat more! Check out this calorie calculator: http://www.healthyweightforum.org/eng/calculators/calories-required/ I'm not sure how tall you are, but I used your weight and a height of 5'7 and said you were moderately active and it said you should be eating about 1900 calories…

I just bought Turbo Jam yesterday...can't wait to try it!!

Mmm, red wine! I'm starting to think that I should up my daily calories again. They were set at 1400 and I was barely losing, then I put them at 1580 and got a little bit of a jolt, now I seem to be stalling again (I know this because I've gotten into the bad habit of weighing myself every morning). Some ladies on…

Thanks, Kendal and Lacey! Looks like I might have to up my calories. I changed my setting to 1800 and just worked out...now it says I still have over 500 calories left at 9pm! Yikes. Better luck tomorrow, I guess...

Hi all, I know I've been bad about catching up, and I do promise to do it soon! I have a quick question for you all though -- any advice on a number suggestion for my daily calories? I know that everyone is different and there are a lot of factors to consider, but I'm not consistantly losing weight and I'm thinking that…

HOLY COW, Sarah (wiggle) and Kerry, you guys kicked some serious butt!! This will sound cheesy, but thank you for being so awesome. Seeing your status updates and your progress is so motivational. You guys rock! And the same to everyone else in this group! You all have motivated me like crazy! For this next…

Well, we were out of town all weekend so I was without a scale, but I weighed in this morning. Here are the numbers: Starting weight: 225.8 07/23/11: 221.8 08/01/11: 221.2 Only down a little bit this week...I can't complain much after last week's loss though. One goal I have for August is to keep drinking water and try to…

Pammy, I weighed in already...my weigh-in days are Saturdays. Here's are my weights so far: Starting weight: 225.8 Weigh-in on 7/23: 221.8 My next weigh-in day should be tomorrow, but I may have to weigh in Monday...we might be going somewhere this weekend where I won't have a scale, but I'll let you know. That water…

I hadn't heard about the OJ trick either...I'm going to have to try that one!!

How is everyone doing on the water challenge so far? I need to step it up; I've only done 5 cups as of right now! Digitalsinner, I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you. I've had days when I go WAY over my calories and somehow the next day the scale actually tells me that I've lost weight. Go figure. I know what…

I agree with the people who said that 5 1/2 pounds in a month isn't bad at all. I'm not sure how much you weigh but you might find 1200 calories to be too little for you. I originally set mine to 1400 and didn't eat my exercise calories but I was losing very slowly (if at all), then last week I bumped it up to 1580 and…

Wow, half my body weight in water sounds like a good challenge to me! I've just started in the last two weeks trying to really make sure I get plenty of water in; before that I was only getting maybe 4-5 cups a day. Getting more water really does seem to help my weight loss though! I'm up for the challenge tomorrow!

You might be surprised, Amber! I let myself eat whatever I want (within reason) on Saturdays -- I still log it, I just don't stress about the calories -- and it works for me. This past weekend the scale actually said I'd lost another 1/2 pound after my day off! Crazy! That seems to happen to me a lot too. Just be sure to…

Amber, I feel the same way when I make the decision to go a day without exercising. I usually wind up doing SOMETHING anyway to appease my guilt, even though logically I know that it's okay to take a day off. Last week I took 3 days off from my run/walk because my ankle had been bothering me, but I still did 30 Day Shred.…

I have been overweight almost my entire life (I was nearly 10 pounds when I was born!), and I was always the fat kid. If I was lucky there were 1 or 2 other fat kids in my grade to take some of the heat off of me, but that's about it. I was always singled out and picked on because there weren't many others. That wasn't so…

I use it, but more for the health benefits than the weight loss. I follow the "recipe" on the Bragg's bottle and do 8 oz of water with 2 teaspoons of vinegar and 1 teaspoon of honey. I actually really like the taste! I'm a fan of sour/bitter stuff though (I like to eat pickled garlic, just as an example), so I'm probably…

Congrats on everyone's losses so far! I like all of your tattoos...pretty! I've always thought about getting one, but I never could decide on something I'd want forever so I still don't have one. Amber, my calories were initially set at 1400, but I was losing weight slooooooowly and some weeks not at all. I'd heard people…

I used the worst pictures I could find of myself so that my after picture might look even better. Here's some great news: My weigh-in day is today and I weighed in at 221.8. My starting weight was 225.8 so I'm down 4 pounds this week!! What?! I'm crazy excited! My weight loss had been going slow so I started eating…

Hi all, I've never put pictures up before so this might not work, but here goes... Me and my adorable boyfriend...he's definitely motivation to lose weight.
-
I've logged my breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack and I still have over 1,000 left to eat! I worked out this morning but still, that almost never happens to me. I wasn't sure what I wanted for dinner but the bf said he'd like to go to a restaurant we like...I have a lot of calories left, so it's a good night to do it.…

Wow, you look FANTASTIC!! Your hard work has definitely paid off!

Hey all, Just a quick introduction -- My name is Pam, and I hope to be in onederland by the winter (the fall would be even better, but I'll take the winter!). I have the best boyfriend in the world; we've been together for 2 years and own a house together. Not married yet, but it's in our future. I committed to…

Ooo, count me in too! I definitely want to be in onederland by winter!

Fantastic! I started at almost the exact same weight you did...I can't wait for my first 30! Very inspiring, thanks for posting! And feel free to add me if you could use another friend to cheer you on.

I logged it under circuit training until I got a HRM, then I created my own "30 Day Shred" title to log it under. :)
