Thanks for that. I weigh every day cos it helps to keep me on track if I've gone up one day from the next. I don't freak out about it though. I've also found that if I've stuck to calorie count for the day, and exercised, it doesn't go up the next day....

Thanks - you've got me 10 years younger - you're wonderful.

The best thing I've found - particularly for digestion - is to eat an amount at each meal that leaves you feeling you could eat more and doesn't make your stomach feel stretched or uncomfortable. I like to feel that I could get up and run quite hard for a bus after a meal - not that I'm stuffed and need to lie down. For…

Had no idea Vin Diesel liked to play D&D - so many strings to his muscular bow....

Sorry I only looked at photo on post. I'm 49 so you were close. x

That looks amazing! I saw a vegan make one for Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall on his TV show River Cottage (UK) and thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

30 - but I'm useless at ages and photo is a little blurry - or is that my eyes?

5'2 and my goal weight is 8 stone and 11 pounds and no lower then 8 stone and 8 pounds - or a range of 120-123 lb. That puts me smack bang in the middle of the weight I should be for my height according to charts I've looked at. I think your build is important. I have an athletic frame so I don't think it would do me any…

I was 149lb the other day (which depressed me because it's the heaviest I've been for a while), but the next day I weighed myself first thing in the morning as usual and I was 145lb - always use the same scales by the way. 4lb had gone from nowhere. It's a bit disconcerting to be on a goal to lose 2lb per week and then…

Thanks. Think you are right - you have to be ready, so here's to being ready now.

Yep, I don't get what you mean. Everyone is going to be naked at certan times. Is this lady walking down the street naked, or going to work naked, or climbing a mountain naked or delivering a sermon naked, or running for President naked, or out for dinner naked, or in the library naked, or running in the park naked, down…

Buy the book Running Made Easy written by 2 female long-distance runners. It's got training plans for 5K, 10K, half and full marathons and loads of contributions from other runners. Very supportive and inspirational, with tips on nutrition, injuries, clothing, safety while out running - the whole caboodle. One of the best…

Hi, the only reason I managed to carry on drinking my beloved wine and still lose weight was to take the calories from my food quota, which probably tells you how much I like wine. Clearly this is not the answer long-term. You could work out like a demon but you need to be a certain type to do that - i.e. control /…

Lol. I admit to being a bit of a hand-cleaner, esp when there are lots of coughs and colds around. Quite like the odd shower too.

Give it a go. Would love to know what you think. Fans are devastated that the Network closed it after only one series, but the fan base was so strong they made the film Serenity with all the old cast. It should have run for much longer.

'You used to have such a beautiful body' - said by a well-meaing person who's the size of a truck.

Cannot agree more. Love Star Trek, but Firefly is pure genius. It has an edge and a suspense and really gets to the heart of what people are about, and Malcolm Reynolds isn't all holier than thou and full of moral messages - he's a renegade cavorting around with totally compromised characters - just like real life. Star…

Yes, I know what you mean about 1200 cals maybe not being enough. What's it's done for me is made me exercise every day. A game of squash is about 500 cals. I've always wanted it in my life plan to exercise every day for a least an hour. That's my goal for life. If you look at it like that, 1200 cals becomes a irrelevant…

I couldn't get the hang of Caption Archer or T'pol at first - but they grew on me. My husband introduced me to Firefly (the series) and was totally hooked on that.

Voyager's my favourite. My favourite episode is from DSN 'Under the Pale Moonlight'. Wasn't sure about the new Enterprise but took to it after a while.

Yep is does make sense. If you keep stripping the body of bacteria, if doesn't fight invading bacteria very well - because it doesn't have a chance to build up resistance by producing antibodies. Doctors have been saying for a long time now that it's because children are over-clean and over sanitised that their immune…

I never choose caloires over dinner/drinks/friends. I look at my calorie intake over the week. If I know I'm going to meet friends and probably sink a bottle of wine, I just adjust my calories for that week and I'm more likely to up my exercise to give me extra calories. A game of squash is a bottle of wine. As for food, I…

Wash the socks and underwear, but the shorts can last a few times, as can a sleeveless vest on the basis it's not covered in underarm sweat. Don't agree with too much washing full stop - strips the body of essential oils and buggers up the immune system.

If some of your friends and family are already interested in losing weight, they will be probably be up for it, or at least keen to know what's involved. I would leave the ones alone who need to lose weight but aren't interested in doing it. If they see you and your friends doing it, with no pressure from you, they might…
