  • Keep at it. You hit it right, it is a "Lifestyle Change". It takes a while to convince your spouse to eat similar things when they are healthy. Seems like the bad stuff is easy to give in to.
  • Don't go off your diet. Enjoy your occasional piece of cake, pie, or ice cream just don't let it completely ruin your day or week. I find the moderation works if you learn to do it. I look at this as a lifetime journey and find that teaching myself to break the habits that really throw you off track are the best things you…
  • Always willing to help if I can. Been on MFP for over a year now and log everyday.
  • Be patient, you've done an amazing job. Go get the girl and be proud of who you are and where you are going. The skin is so difficult to get rid of but you can get there. Don't give up.
  • What's wrong with keeping track. You can have your once in a while binge/bad day when you know you've been completely on track for most others.
  • Maintenance is definitely harder, especially if the loss was extremely quick. Be patient, and you can change your metabolism to help deal with it. You also should consider a regular exercise schedule that you can stick to. As you develop better fitness levels you will also burn calories more easily. Remember this is a long…
  • If you are referring to the cardio abs after pure cardio or max cardio, I do them one after the other. I feel I am already warmed up and the extra 16 minute ab workout flys by.
  • Nice work! I've been doing a lot of running myself and know exactly how you feel about starting out at the 12 min pace initially. I just clock over 75 miles this month by running a 5k I mapped out around the neighborhood and I hit it about 3-5 times a week now.

  • Eat better foods to supplement your workouts. Add more protein. Lean meats, chicken breast, turkey breast. You should bump your macros to something like 40-45carbs/30-35 protein/20-25 fats.
  • you are not eating enough to support your workouts. Plus when you first begin working out, often your body will retain fluid to supply the muscles.
  • If you're craving chocolate, do you have any lean chocolate protein powder. I mix mine with half water and half skim milk and then it goes in the freezer for an hour. In a hurry, you can blend with ice instead of water.
  • You probably haven't been eating enough. I have up my calories 3x since I started and each time has result in a loss or at least no gain this time. Always willing to help motivate others. I've logged on MFP for 340 days straight so i'm always here trying to lead by example.

  • Always willing to help motivate others. I've logged on MFP for 340 days straight so i'm always here trying to lead by example. Your starting results are outstanding and maybe you just went into too hard at first and burned out. This is something you want to learn to deal with for a lifetime. There will be bumps but you…

  • Always willing to help. I motivate by doing it myself and hope others will see that it works. I know everyone is a little different but we're all also very much the same.
  • Always looking to help and motivate others. I have a FB group also if you're committed. https://www.facebook.com/groups/destinationfit4life/
  • 2x through Insanity so far. 1x through Asylum1 and 1x through Asylum2 as well as a P90x/Insanity hybrid and an Asylum1/Insanity Hybrid. Willing to give any advice and motivation if you want. Also have a FB group for accountability and daily posting. Some come and some go but i'm always there.…
  • Always willing to help. Totally agree with you as far as so many who thing the key is just to severely under eat. I look at it more as a life long commitment to being healthier but also being able to enjoy life by still being able to have some of those little things and being able to go out to eat with your spouse and…
  • always willing to lend any advice from what I learned.
  • It didn't get there overnight and it takes longer to get rid of it but you can do it with a commitment to your diet and exercise. I see your diary entries for today puts you well below your target calories. If you continue well under for too long your metabolism will be slowed down and more fat will store. Be careful. You…
  • I started at 48 myself. I have committed myself to being in the best shape of my life by 50. Through daily workouts and logging everything I eat I have pretty much hit that early. Still have 7 months to go but I have lost up to 48lbs and have settled in at about 42lbs lost do to weight training now. I run a 5k in the…
  • As long as you're getting a workout in there as well 2000 is very reasonable. I'm 5'6" and about 154-155lbs. I'm pretty much maintaining that weight on 2030 cals per day. Workouts are 6 days a week and I almost always eat back the workout calories. Normal days I'm consuming roughly 2500 - 2600 calories. I did start my…
  • 1. The radical change and lifting will cause the body to retain fluids initially. Common for you to see a gain. 2. Not likely yet, but you are eating too few calories for your change in activity.
  • C'mon, Does anyone understand that if you want to be physically fit you need to eat to support your workouts? If you maintain a calorie deficit you WILL lose weight initially. BUT, you will eventually start burning muscle mass and you don't want to do that. You must keep your metabolism revved up by doing a combination of…
  • Stick to it and you will reap the rewards. I actually gained about 3lbs in the first 3-4 weeks the first time I did Insanity. It wasn't until the 5th week that I actually saw a loss. After the 9 weeks was up I lost about 14lbs. and kept going from there. With Insanity and diet I lost a total of 5" off the waist and have…
  • First off, make sure you are logging everything. If you are, then you need to eat enough. The 1500 should probably be your base caloric intake without the exercise. Then if you burn say 500 calories, you probably should be eating back at least 80%. It's easy to lose the first 2-3 weeks of excercising, then your body starts…
  • I've got a facebook group for to help with accountability and motivation. I have been posting on MFP for 285 days straight and the FB group is coming together very well.
