  • I have a Fitbit One and I wear it all day. I have to be near my home laptop for it to sync to the web so I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but I like it.
  • This could work two ways. If I was naked with someone else then the other person would most likely be laughing. :) Good thing my wife is the only one that's going to be seeing me naked. And she's seen it enough it's no longer funny to her. :)
  • Welcome to MFP and Fitbit! I have the Fitbit One and have had it for about 11 months. I put mine on as soon as I get dressed and take it off before bed. I haven't used it to record sleep since the first few months I got it. I kind of got tired of the wrist sheath...especially in the warmer months. If you are doing an…
  • I think the rock climbers have an advantage later in the stages because so much of the course has to do with grip strength. But I do agree that you need to have some of those free runner skills too for the body control. And I would be one of those people falling on the quintuple step no doubt. :)
  • I've watched it pretty much since the first season. I've not watched it consistently on Monday nights but usually catch replays on G4. I've also watched the original Ninja Warrior on G4 from Japan. It's pretty amazing but being 6'2" and down to 230 from 318 I'm thinking I'd probably never make it thru the course in this…
  • They reduce fatigue by keeping the muscles from being bounced around so much...especially for the legs on long runs. But they also can help keep your arms and legs warm but allow you to remove them once it warms up later in the run.
  • Oh...and be prepared to spend some time picking them out from between your teeth. What fun! :)
  • They are crunchy in a salad. If you put them in some sort of liquid for a little bit they develop a gel coating on the outside...hence no need to grind them unlike flax seeds which need to be ground in order for your body to be able to get any benefit from them. I put them in protein shakes, on cereal, in yogurt and flat…
  • I read somewhere (which I can't find now of course) that as soon as you start timing yourself or training for a race then you are a runner. Personally though I feel it's just two words meaning the same thing. It really has nothing to do with the speed of the runner or the distance. I know there are people that run 100 mile…
  • I've had my Fitbit One since November. I love how it automatically syncs to the internet when I'm near my laptop. I log my steps on another site and the fact that it's all out on the Fitbit site makes it so much easier to log several days in a row if I miss a few days logging my steps. The fact that it syncs with MFP is…
  • I've only tried tofu a few times but last night I tried something simple. I cubed some firm tofu, put a little oil in a pan with some garlic salt and Bragg's Liquid Aminos (lower sodium than soy sauce). I just fried the tofu until it was nice and crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. It tasted great. I just ate it…
  • First thing you have to do to stop the yo-yo diets is to stop dieting. Diets don't work. This has to be a lifestyle change for it to last. Diets are only temporary weight loss solutions. Once you stop the diet you stop losing and start gaining again. I would suggest not doing anything too drastic. Make a small change in…
  • It got me juicing. I haven't done a juice fast yet though. Just using the juice as a supplement to my diet at this time.
  • Congrats on the wonderful victory! It's a great feeling isn't it. Enjoy each NSV as they come around.
  • Interesting. I'll have to try my Fila Skele-toes. I love them but don't run in them as I've still to heavy for that and need more cushioning.
  • Shoes definitely make a difference. Had some Saucony shoes and never experienced it unless I was on it for an hour or more. Then got some Mizunos and I would be hurting and eventually numb after about 10 minutes. Got new Sauconys and it's much better. Not picking on Mizuno...just think the ones I got had less cushioning…
  • I definitely agree on diet sodas being worse for you. I would argue that drinking sodas themselves may not put on weight as long as you stay under calories but I believe they do mess with your sugar levels (even diet sodas too) and can make cravings worse. And I never realized how bloated they made me. I used to drink a 3…
  • Giving yourself a treat once in a while...especially if it fits in your numbers is a good idea. As long as it's not a trigger food maybe. But if you always feel deprived of anything it's going to hinder your being able to stick with an eating plan. I say go for it!
  • These are the kinds of transformations that give people hope. You look amazing! Keep up the good work...don't ever go back.
  • You look great! Don't take this the wrong way but you don't even look like the same person. Wouldn't have recognized you. Keep up the good work.
  • This...add some cocoa for chocolate ice cream. Yummy! Definitely better when the banana's are a bit more brown.
  • My goal is actually 15 pounds below where I graduated high school. An ambitious goal for sure but I'd rather shoot for the stars and fall short than aim for nothing and hit it. I can always adjust my goal later if I see it's truly not reasonable.
  • Might consider taking a break from the killer workouts for a day or two. Overtraining can hinder weight loss too. Being too restrictive on calories can also send your body into starvation mode so it holds onto fat. Just thoughts...I'm certainly no expert. Just speaking from personal experience...I was stuck for a while and…
  • I'm not expert and I'm sure someone on here will correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know you can't spot reduce fat. You just have to burn more calories than your take in. I have the same problem although maybe to a greater extent that I carry the majority of my body fat in my belly. It's going down but slowly over…
  • I googled how to count the calories in fruits and vegetables that had been juiced. Basically, it said to just subtract the calories for the fiber in the fruit or vegetable juices. If it's got 4 grams of fiber then that's 4 grams X 4 calories. So just subtract 16 calories from the number of calories in the food being juiced.
  • If you check the database there are loads of fruits and vegetables already listed as "juiced". I usually just search for "fresh" or "extracted" and the fruit or veg and have yet to not be able to find one listed. Even things like sweet potato are listed as juiced in the database. You shouldn't have too much trouble. As for…
  • Welcome to MFP! I wish you all the best of luck in your new commitment to better health and feeling better about yourself. Feel free to add me if you want. I'm all about supporting my friends on here.
  • All right, Clanton... you called down the thunder, well now you've got it! Tell all the other curs the law's comin'! You tell 'em I'M coming... and hell's coming with me, you hear?...Hell's coming with me!
  • Don't forget the Oreos. Vegan or vegetarian doesn't equal healthy for sure.
  • Vegetarian since December 1st. Did a Daniel Fast for our church for 21 days before Xmas and felt so much better I decided to stick with it. I've been addicted to the gym since the summer and had lost 32 pounds from May 1st to Nov 30. I've lost 43 pounds since switching to a vegetarian lifestyle. I didn't give up meat for…
