  • I am on my second Mirena and I only gained weight for the first couple of weeks, Probably from inflamation/swelling, I have lost that weight but it is really hard to lose more. I wasn't so lucky, I got a period every month, here's to hoping I don't get it this go around.
  • there is a group for all weightloss surgery people in general but many are banded!
  • You are looking awesome!!! Congrats!
  • Again, I am not looking for anything, I was just ordering my protein powder off of my website and I saw them. I didn't know anything about it so I wanted to learn something new. Thank you for the information ninerbuff.
  • I would think so, lol, but there are peolpe out there that need a "miracle drug" rather than put in the hard work and effort, and I just wanted to hear people's knowledge on it.
  • My goals for this week include: *70-80 g of protein *70+ oz of water *Join gym and go 3x a week *Spend quality time with my husband, not just watching tv
  • I am almost 4 months out and intake about 1100 a day with about 80g of protein
  • Soooo awesome, We are very similar in weight and weight loss! I stepped on the scale last week and when I saw 198.5 I almost cried from over joy. Haven't seen that since 1999 as well. Congratulations!!!! Wishing you tons more success in this journey!
  • HI! I decided to go with the sleeve for several reasons. I work in the health care field and see tons of patients who had the bypass come in for injections, such as iron or vit B. I also was grossed out thinking I have most of my stomach just hanging out not really doing much, still produces stomach acid but not much…
  • Update: COme to find out it was not acid reflux at all. I just had horrible post nasal drip that caused my sore throat. Thank you everyone that responded to me. Have a good day!
  • Hello Dustin! I had my sleeve Feb 9th....seems so far away, lol. I still have a hard time eating. I tend to eat too fast and then I get sick easily, that eating slow is tough when I only have 5 mins to down food. I stick mainly to soups, I can get about 6-8 oz of soup, depending on how much content is in it. I wish you…
  • I have experienced it and I have no clue why it does that. Make sure you talk to your doctor about getting your A1C done 3 months out, I bet the numbers will creep down as time goes on. Good Luck!!
  • Thanks everyone! I have a theory that it may be the caffiene I just started recently drinking. I bought the energy MIO flavoring for the water and I didn't realize that it had caffiene in it. I stopped taking using it and I will now see how I am affected by it. I will call my doctor tomorrow if it is not better tonight.…
  • I would just look up each individual item and document them that way, instead of crumbed, we used battered......good luck
  • I think I would die if I even smelled all of that greese. I am only 6 weeks out and I still cannot handle fried foods or even some high in fat foods. Wow, some people amaze me how they just think you can continue to eat the same foods. I know my food addiction does guilt me into eating some things I shouldn't but all in…
  • I had off for a month but I think I could have gone back the 3rd week. I was going stir crazy that 4th week, lol.
  • I am 5 weeks out and I am still not my full self. I wouldn't push it becuase you just had major surgery. My doctor didn't clear me for a month to fully exercise with out any limits. Take it easy, don't want to cause any damage while you heal. If you really want to exercise, talk to your doctor before going ahead with…
  • If you have pinterest they give many many low carb meal ideas, if you are only cooking for you freezing meals are great!
  • I totally get how you feel. I am 4weeks out and only lost 16lbs. The first week I lost 13, I thought that was amazing and awesome. Then, I didn't lose anything for the next 2 weeks, I just finally started moving the scale again this past week with 3lb loss. If you think about it, over a term of a yr most of the VSG…
  • Thank you ladies.....i have been eating sf popsicles but for 1,5 oz...i will never get enough fluids haha
  • Pure Protein- Chocolate.... just like a chocolate milkshake!- 160 calories, 25g protein, and only 8 carbs Visalus Shake, Vanilla...tastes like a vanilla cupcake!!- 90calories, 12g protein, 2 net carbs
  • Hmmm...have never heard of that regimen. I am soo excited for you! Last yr at this time I wasn't thinking this at all, I was just getting health insurance and my A1C was 12.6!! Isn't it sooo surreal how much can change in one yr!
  • thankfully you only have to do a couple of medicine cups full, I am kind of nervous myself for that disgusting stuff
  • The "chaulky" stuff is called barium, the hospital should NEVER use this stuff right after surgery because it is not obsorbed into the body and will cause complications if there were a leak in your stomach. The clear liquid is mostly called omnipaque, it is iodine based, easily obsorbed by the body and will not harm you if…
  • Thank you for all of your input everyone!!
  • Thank you everyone, your feedback is much appreciated!
  • Greek yogurt, I keep trying to eat it but to me it is soo thick and bitter/sour.
  • Thank you everyone for the advice, it has helped me a lot!!
  • I just had 2 co-workers put down weight loss surgery in front of me like I wasn't there. They are very aware that I am getting my surgery. They were saying how many complications one can have and there are many other options. I just smiled and acted like I didn't hear them. I have my reasons as to why I am getting my…
