I can't say I deal with emotional eating because I often am swept away by it .... But I can say this much... planning in advance is helpful. Protein, veggies and fruits.... and keeping crap out of work and home spaces.. Those things help to insulate me somewhat from making bad choices. Also, dealing with stress by doing…

I am a compulsive eater... my issues are different. But I can say this...over the past ten years, I've leaned into a cleaner eating lifestyle... I've always been active and healthy...but in my vain attempts to lose weight because I can't seem to let go of the compulsive eating cycle, I've implemented many positive…

Listen, you are fit, and look terrific.. Please do not berate yourself.... enjoy your youthful, fit and womanly physique and respect yourself... the day will come when age will set in and things will shift....then, you'll have to contend with the facts of life--aging changes the body.. Believing what the media and society…

Profile pic is from snowshoeing yesterday.....everything was covered in delicate snowflakes.... got out early enough to enjoy it before the sun melted it away yesterday... Today, it's skate skiing.... I haven't done this for a couple years. It's the most aerobic form of exercise I have ever done..... SUPER INTENSE.... I'll…

I'm bringing my laptop along with me!!! But I certainly am not going to log my calories!!

Heading out to snow shoe this morning.... we've got 18" of the white stuff--just dropped this week!! Major snow event is over... I'm gonna get out and burn some serious calories this morning!! Into the woods I go!!!! Gotta try and at least stay on top of all these calories this time of year!!! And I need to drink more…

Greetings MFP Peeps! I wrestled with signing up for the group since receiving the invite, as I'm fearful of failure! Today, I finally had the courage to dive in! I've been active my entire adult life. My favorite forms of exercise at this time are hot yoga, running, and swimming laps in the pool during the winter months.…

I enjoy swimming in the winter (then a nice sauna!) I usually do hot yoga at a studio...I tried it a home in my spare bedroom this morning- but it only got to 80 degrees...and 90 minutes of it at home just isn't the same....plus, I'd need a space heater in addition to my electric fireplace in there! I'm also a runner-- but…
-
I enjoy running outside- but we just had a MAJOR BLIZZARD yesterday--- so I'm gonna need to do other forms of activity until things clear up a bit... snowshoeing.....swimming and hot yoga will suffice...

lordy, lordy-- I need to get my brain around the whole measurement thing....that's not gonna happen today!! I will post everything once I'm there... it took me awhile to commit upon receipt of the invitation because I think I'm scared of failing again... I've been at this for tooooo long... I took a bath yesterday and saw…

I'm in this camp....and plateauing. Ideally- 30 pounds would be great. Realistically with my age... 20 is probably more realistic... I'm active, support those in my corner regularly and enthusiastically.... but get stuck with the staying in the right calorie zone piece and probably eat too many carbs... I'm otherwise a…

I second the salad...with perhaps cottage cheese, tuna or some other lean protein...

I will always have unsightly legs.... I have been fit as a fiddle and my legs just aren't that great. I carry weight in them. If I lost 25 pounds, I'd feel better about it... but it's a sad reality that my genetics gave me a raw deal. I run, swim, do hot yoga, on and on... my legs are just not pretty. I'm tone…

Yesterday I met someone who lost 60 pounds and we talked about this. She goes for celery with some PB because it's filling..that's a good snack....just go easy on the PB

I love high quality Albacore with some low cal mayo/olive oil...and some fat free crackers. I'm a Costco member- the Kirkland Albacore is out of this world delish! I love the individual servings of Fage with the sweetening flavors-- pomegranate cherry is my fav....a filling low fat low cal snack...

I loved this post! I have put on pounds and can't seem to get back on track. It's helpful to hear similar struggles... I believe it's those across the pond who refer to the pounds as stones. Anyway, I loved it that you said you couldn't believe you accomplished what you did. It's the comfort of eating that is my struggle…

I'm on every day and have a great circle of supporters. I also support those in my corner...who log on regularly.... for those who don't, and I send messages, and they just aren't consistent, they fall off my list. I really enjoy giving and receiving the support... feel free to add me.

For some reason, this time of year, I'm always more tired than usual... Today, I didn't fight it...some days I do. It depends on what's going on at the moment. I really sleep well so that's not it. I just try and maintain a routine. I know carrying extra weight saps some of the energy I'd otherwise have. So does bad eating…

I turned 49 in August and have 25 pounds to lose.. I'm very fit, just not a disciplined eater. I eat very healthy---but have trouble staying under a calorie limit.. This site helps me see my bad habits, view others disciplined habits and seeing all the success helps me to try and believe it's possible for me, too!
-
sometimes it's a challenge...but when I carve out the time, it's worth it. sometimes, its just the exercise I log... I just need to log something each day. what's helpful for me is seeing the daily logs of people with really disciplined eating habits.. and of course, the encouragement and positive examples of people…

I've struggled with this, too. If you like to cook, (I do), I seek out recipes that call for veggies.. I have a fabulous one I found last winter... I eat salads and sneak all kinds of veggies in there.... I have actually developed a preference for veggies on my pizza or flatbread... and prefer it over any kind of meat.. I…

Though I'm nursing a resentment against cops right now, having rec'd an unjustified ticket yesterday, feel free to add me. I'm active on the site daily.... and need to balance the yin/yang energy in my MFP friends.. don't worry- i'll get over how pissed I am about the ticket.
-
you can add me if you wish! I support those in my corner.

THAT IS VERY IMPRESSIVE!!! What an amazing accomplishment! Congrats and thanks for sharing your success!

Though that sounds fabulous, just adding the ingredients alone, it has to be more than 500 calories.. I'm sorry- but just add them up... it would definitely be more than that for the whole loaf. I'm not going to keep that recipe- because I could easily snarf it down and convince myself I only ate 500 calories.. Believe me-…
