It’s water weight + less waste in your intestines + etc. Carry on and don’t be upset if that kind of big drop doesn’t happen again.

How much weight did you lose the other 9 months? You need fewer calories as you get smaller, which means your calorie goals change over time.
-
pick one and stick to it for 8 weeks. then reassess. that’s how we all figured it out.
-
then you should eliminate the 5 percent of the time you say you do not eat within your limits. you mentioned sometimes going over a little on weekends. HOWEVER, if you have lost 17 lb in two months, I don’t necessarily think you have an issue. Just keep at it.
-
are you on MFP to gain weight or to lose?
-
Most likely scenario is you are underestimating calorie intake or over estimating calories burned. That would be true if you have been at it 4-6 weeks+. How long has it been though?
-
The calories consumed matter so, so much more than all that cardio. Get a digital food scale!
-
pre log my food at the beginning of the day. pre weigh snacks and put in bowls or baggies.
-
when i feel “fantastic,” i am also very hungry
-
pre log everything you are going to eat for the day. your goal simply becomes to eat it all.
-
How long has it been? What’s your weight and goal weight?
-
are you getting your own room and kitchen? if so, go grocery shopping and bring your food scale!
-
yep. it reveals to us that the work we have been doing on deficit days has been working. it doesn’t mean that higher cal days creates better loss.
-
We lose after a “cheat” because the extra food prompts a larger bowel movement the next day 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

I shed a lot of hair when I lose weight. My dermatologist told me it’s normal as long as I am not vastly under eating. She said the body feels stressed by weight loss and this is one result. It stops when I return to maintenance. Sometimes it doesn’t start shedding until several months into a cut.
-
log it when you drink it because it has calories 🤷🏻♀️
-
weigh what you eat on a digital food scale. no eyeballing
-
it’s totally normal to lose steadily then have a week where you don’t lose or you gain a little. especially as women, our menstrual cycle can impact the scale different times of the month. i started my period yesterday and I will not weigh myself again until a few days after it stops
-
if you have been at it for only one week, you need to take a deep breath and just keep doing the same thing. i would recommend not weighing yourself again for a month. it may help your panic!
-
how painful would it be for you to wait a month before weighing yourself? i find that it keeps the “lifestyle not a rush” energy strong. and i don’t feel as desperate or worried.
-
totally normal. if you didn’t eat 3,500 (ish - it’s debatable) calories OVER maintenance for days on end… then it’s impossible that’s a pound of fat. a lot of our weight changing up and down is water, food leftover in our intenstines, all sorts of things. 2 lb down 1 lb up is totally normal. i have had much wilder swings!
-
What is your activity level set at? When you say “I don’t always eat my 1700,” do you mean sometimes you eat less or sometimes you eat more? Can you make your diary public so we can look at your logging?
-
If you feel very unwell the day your cycle begins, perhaps you could eat maintenance calories that day?
-
What’s your current weight and goal weight? How much weight have you lost so far, and over what kind of timeframe?
-
Paying close attention to macros comes into play if: 1. you are struggling to meet your calorie deficit goals because you are so hungry 2. you have a condition like diabetes that requires specific food choices 3. you are working on those final vanity pounds or are body building, etc otherwise, i would say don’t complicate…

Well this isn’t “real” / scientifically sound but if you are feeling good, maybe no harm. I would be careful about buying things that make promises like “targets a single organ” — herbal type supplements are not tested by the FDA so you never know what drug interactions you are walking into, side effects, etc. In 2008,…
-
With so little to lose, for me it’s about 2lb a month when I am tightening up
-
It’s possible that during your previous weight drop you were miscalculating your calories but still had enough of a deficit to lose well. Now that you are much smaller, the window for error is much smaller and has a greater chance of eliminating your weekly.
-
THIS is what weight loss looks like. It would be a wild anomaly to have a straight blue line — especially as a woman with a menstrual cycle.

How are you calculating the 4000? Digital food scale?
