send your ideas - chronic hip/glute/low back pain
I'll start this with the disclaimer that I fully know that most of the people on this site are not physicans and will just be taking shots in the dark. I'm welcoming shots in the dark in case there's something I haven't thought of. Maybe you've had similar experiences and found answers. I've had chronic right sided low…

Progressive Overload app?
I am planning on cutting for one more month then I want to start an intentional progressive overload program at maintenance. Does anyone have a free app or worksheet to recommend where I can keep track of what I lift each week?

syncing from FitOn App
Has anyone figured out how to get exercise burns logged in the FitOn app to transfer? I know I can just use my watch’s workout setting instead, but if anyone has gotten this to log both ways (on TV and in MFP) let me know.

medial branch blocks
Has anyone had a medial branch block on a facet joint? I am considering to try to eliminate chronic low back, glute, hip and groin pain. I am generally healthy but am not able to be as active as I wish, work as hard as I would like when I exercise. Irritation throughout my day is also distracting / discouraging.

hip pain & weights vs body weight
I am a long time gym rat but had to cut way way back when I developed chronic right hip pain a few years ago. I am 41. I am not getting any super clear answers about source of pain; I have a small labral tear but doctor cannot reproduce my pain in office (negative FADIR) and I have spondylolisthesis with some facet joint…

Same Weight, Different Composition
After losing 10 lb since April, I am almost ready to re join the maintenance club. I have had to revise my fitness plan since late 2020 due to pain, so my composition is a bit different at this # than I am accustomed to. My plan to get all those old pants buttoning again is to start to move toward maintenance and really…

fitness with spondylolisthesis
So that’s a big word so ignore it if you are unfamiliar, but is anyone a fitness buff with a diagnosis of spondylolisthesis in the spine? I have managed symptoms fine over the years but think I have had some progression as I have had chronic pain for about four months — I have stopped exercising and awaiting an MRI. If you…

Labral Tear!
Has anyone recovered from a labral tear in the hip without surgery? I have a follow up from an MRI this week. Thanks!

Carb Cycling?
Has anyone tried carb cycling and have a recommended link / schedule to try? I am at a healthy weight and am doing a little recomp. Just watched a brief video about this recently.

January to July, 19 lb Back Transformation!
I've never put anything on Success Stories before. It's been long enough for me that I have kind of stopped seeing my success and gotten nit-picky over wanting a little more tone. Today I looked at my before and after. Not bad!

Shoulder sublexation
Does anyone have instable shoulders that end up sliding out and back into socket unexpectedly? I am pouting because it happened to me (again) on a roller coaster yesterday so I am out of commission while it heals up 😥

Hair Shedding IN MAINTENANCE
I lost 15-20 lb eating 1300-1450 calories per day and felt fine. Current weight 132-136, 5’5’’ tall. Now that I am maintaining, my hair is shedding like crazy. I am either counting to around 1600 per day OR (most often) just eating more intuitively because I am eating out more now for celebrations, Mother’s Day tonight,…

is your family concerned that you are still using a food scale?
I've gotten a comment or two a la "I thought you said you were done losing weight?" I pretty much am, but I get comfort from still using the food scale to reach my maintenance calories. In reality, it is freeing because it shows me that I can eat more than I instinctively think I should. But it seems to be a red flag in…

Apps to Pair with My HR Monitor (that don't cost $)
The apps I used to use with my heart rate monitor will no longer show me my heart rate and calorie counts without a subscription. Has anyone found an app that will work without a monthly fee? Otherwise I feel like the calorie count is really off (too high).

Who’s new to maintenance?
I am 2 lb to goal so starting to increase my calories. Moved from 1300 to 1400 today. I don’t get many steps in at work at all, so I am going to try slowly upping 1600 calories for maintenance at first, then take it from there. My clothes fit fantastic. I am just going to shave off 2 more lb so when I “gain” some non-fat…

Is there a “recomp” setting?
Or do I just eat maintenance and lift several times per week? Thanks!

Can I re-set my "starting weight"?
My weight loss stats continue to branch off the weight I logged many years ago. Is there a way to re-set my "starting weight" so that lb lost is only reflecting my efforts from 2018-2019?

do you get headaches?
I don't have much weight to lose this time around, just trying to put back on some muscle and burn a little fat, so I have only been back at counting for three days now. However, I have had terrible headaches each day I tracked. Lasts most of the day. I am eating more than 1200 calories but tomorrow I am going to cut out…

Looking for Moms in their 30s
I have about 10 lb to lose, hoping to put on lots of muscle. Always been fit, but baby #2 really did me in! I'm about 142 right now (probably a little more) and aiming for 135, but definitely into lifting weights twice a week in addition to running. I fall off the wagon a lot with my logging and get discouraged when the…

Looking for Friends in their 30s
I'm 31, have a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old, and am trying to get from just being at a healthy weight to being super fit. I've lost some weight but am working on adding muscle, decreasing BF%. Looking for friends who lift weights a few times a week, run a lot. Having trouble falling off the wagon and watching the water weight…

how should I adjust protein?
I have dropped from 160 to 139. My goal is 134 but I want to build muscle along the way (lifting at home). I have been on preset MFP percentages. How should I adjust my protein percentage to encourage muscle?

Want to stop losing but Add muscle, change bf % a bit...
I will be on maintenance calories soon but plan to continue working out to add muscle and increase definition. I just up my protein and eat back my exercise calories, right? Any other tips? I don't really want to drop clothes sizes any more. Just get stronger, continue to enjoy lifting, running, circuit training at home.
