when do YOU tend to need a snack? there’s no “best time”
-
skinny pop popcorn for sure.
-
This never happens to me 😂
-
Just macros, or calories as well?
-
How are you calculating the calories? Are you using a digital food scale? When and how often do you weigh yourself? Menstrual cycles can mask fat loss because different times of the month make the scale change.
-
doesn’t matter at all. in reality, much of what we log is likely off a bit. certainly the calories we say we have BURNED are off a bit. but in the end it all rounds out.

I lose hair (extra shedding) even after I lose 10 lb. Typically it’s when I return to maintenance calories. Dermatologist has told me it’s normal and from the stress the body felt when in a deficit. Dermatologist did NOT tell me it was because I was doing something wrong or malnourished.
-
How long do you tend to work at it before you give up?
-
Counting your calories will help you lose weight. Exercise has a much more minimal impact because it doesn’t burn as many calories as we might think. Now, you should still exercise for heart health and many other reasons — including the fact that it sheds SOME calories. Are you eating the number of calories MFP recommends,…
-
start with what MFP suggests when you enter your goals to the app. after a few weeks, take a look at your progress and adjust calorie goals up or down as needed.
-
if you have been consistent lately, eat at maintenance for the day.
-
i have a square from a bar of dark chocolate. ghirardelli!
-
could you prep dinners on a weekend and store in tupperwares? pull them out throughout the week? i like to shred chicken breast in crock pot and divide up into containers with rice, black beans, guacamole, bell peppers, etc.
-
i am a fast eater and the rules you set for yourself sound miserable 😭 😂 i let myself eat as fast as i want because i weighed and measured what went on my plate. i know im not getting seconds so i just gobble it down. that’s my style!
-
a digital food scale costs about $15. since what you have been doing isn’t working… what if you changed tactics.
-
i have the most success when i pre plan what i will eat in a day. before i go to work i have already logged snack, lunch, dinner so i know what to eat throughout the day. if im hungry, i bump up what comes next.
-
tracking allows me to eat more than i think i should, actually. even if you were tracking everything, 7 days isn’t even close to long enough to judge how well it’s working. try six weeks. the first step for you is to log everything.
-
welcome. do you have trouble accurately counting calories? sticking to it? knowing if you have selected the right goal?
-
i tell myself that my MEMORY of how good the bites were will be the same whether i have one serving or two. one piece of chocolate or three. etc. so the extras didn’t really earn me anything.
-
i use the free FitOn app
-
slow and steady. it takes a long time and that’s ok!

So you are saying that your calculations are that you typically eat under 1500 per day, but you remain overweight and have not been losing at that amount? Do you use a food scale when you do this? I put my bananas, peanut butter, ice cream — everything — on a food scale. What if you could lose the weight without really…
-
are you losing weight too rapidly? if not, then you may be underestimating calories consumed. what is your current weight and goal weight, and when did you start counting calories? how much have you lost?
-
pre log a reasonable amount of what you want that’s “junk” first thing in the morning. for me maybe it’s a chocolate square, 15 grams of chocolate chips, halo top ice cream. later in the day, i eat what i pre logged and enjoy it. but i don’t reach for more. there’s something about the word “discipline” that works for me.…
-
when that happens to me, i eat maintenance calories for that day then return to the deficit the following
-
What if your first goal is simply to get back into the 10s? Then you can take it from there.
-
if you are concerned about your weight during recovery, you can manage this through calorie deficit alone.
-
You don’t need motivation! You need discipline.
-
honestly i feel that when i’m gaining 🤷🏻♀️
