I don't understand how you know how many ounces/grams of grapes you are eating without weighing them... Packaged serving sizes do not always match the actual. Get a food scale and weigh a slice of bread, you will be surprised. Also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjKPIcI51lU

This! The infographic could just be a large advertisement for using a food scale. But concepts like some people digest more or less food than others is similar to that your metabolism isn't always what it's predicted to be at. Or a sedentary person who walks 1000 steps a day might have a different TDEE than someone who…

Makes a ton of sense. I've read similar about breathing / gait etc. Like if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

All these folks who can walk my jogging speed blow my mind :)

Never thought I'd have to say it on MFP...but don't feed the troll...

So true. People are confused by some old study that forgot to remove smokers from thin people and showed basically overweight non-smokers are healthier than thin smokers. Once you remove smoking from the equation, being at a healthy weight always shows better health markers. This is true anecdotally for myself as well,…

Not sure what you would think the difference is between smoothing something or taking the average. And as far as taking average of historical results, not sure what other data you could use. As I mentioned above, Libra works similarly to Trendweight but will let you choose the number of days to average. It sounds like the…

So you added running and increased the weights you were using? Seems perfectly logical you would be more tired as you are adding additional stresses.
-
What program are you following? My only thought is, if you did more sets with lower reps you could potentially lift heavier weights...and that might be more satisfying to you, mentally, though I'm not sure what effect it would have on you physically. I'll let other experts pipe up.

No one called anyone on this thread stupid, fat, weak or lazy. If you asked me what the best way to have enough money for retirement was...and said you were in email contact with a Nigerian Prince who promised to get you a half a million if you gave him some money first, I would tell you to save your money. I would tell…

I usually walk a little (like .25 or .5 miles) beforehand, then do a little stretching and then go. I have to stretch out my ankles or else I have weird issues like my feet falling asleep on my run. I find if I am running more regularly (5-6 times a week) I don't *need* to stretch as much. I don't stretch after...or foam…

This is the equation I use as well. .3 x (weight in lbs) x miles = net calories. You can use www.mapmywalk.com to map out where you walked to figure out distance (or get in your car and drive it). It's a lot lower than MFP or other places will estimate, but I have found it to be accurate. When I started using the Runner's…

Keep in mind HRMs are used to calculate calories for steady state cardio... An HRM is using an equation based on your heart rate and assuming a relationship between oxygen uptake that would normally be used for steady state, cardiovascular exercise. When you run/walk your heart rate increases because your heart must pump…

So...sorry/not-sorry you were right and we're just not positive enough or we are too emotional to understand? That's not very adult of you, and I think we agreed we're all gonna be adults now... *said in Trump accent* "I am gonna adult the h-- out of this. It's gonna be huge."

This. Trendweight is taking a 20-day moving average. If you have an android, you can use an app called Libra that will let you mess with how many days the program uses for the average or for prediction. I am a nerd with numbers and do all this manually in an excel file. Here's a comparison of what a 5 day average looks…

Have you set a calorie goal in MFP? Are you logging everything you eat? Do you use a food scale for all your solid food? (rice, cereal, veggies, meat)

Same! Even if I eat a protein bar a few hours before, it can still mess with me. I prefer to run fasted when my schedule allows. I agree. I exercise so I can eat a bit more as I lose weight, and I know people maintaining who do the same. My sedentary TDEE will be about the same as yours when I get to goal weight. I plan on…

8 days, don't panic. I always look at the last 3 weeks. Especially if you are a lady, some ladies only lose weight during one week a month thanks to our monthly visitor. Your body is trying to change drastically, and needs some time to adapt.

Your diet definitely seems high in sodium (cup of noodles for breakfast!) and probably lower in fat than your previous fast food diet. Cutting fat suddenly can sometimes cause constipation. I'm not a clean eater, I say eat what you want within the calories that you need to lose weight. Protein sounds good. More fiber and…

I didn't say it was every day. I don't suppose to know the eating habits of every single overweight person. Just that those of us that struggle with binging have no problem eating large quantities of food. I ate 3900 calories JUST THIS LAST SATURDAY. I logged every bite of it. I overruled the voice in the back of my head…

Not that I'm aware of. If you have the time, you can enter your information into excel. That's what I do. Every day punch in my weight, and calories eaten the day before. Then I have all my data in a spreadsheet if I want to play with it or make graphs like you say.

My belly does this when I'm losing fat, because I lose from the upper part of my belly first. So it looks like it's hanging lower, but really I lose some fat from my upper belly. When you say you didn't lose any weight, in how long? I don't think scale weight loss and inches loss necessarily happen on the same schedule.…

I did it to kickstart some new habits...mostly to restrict what I was eating and then slowly reintroduce foods in order to get a grasp on what I was eating, break what had been a nearly 100% fast food diet. My experience: -I lost about 4 lbs, but I think only 1 lb was "real" (which makes sense since I did it for about a…

The bit about overweight people not feeling full was from the study/documentary, not my opinion. I'd have to dig it up again (it may have been the BBC Why Thin People Are Not Fat). The not feeling full for hours is my personal experience. It sounds like your personal experience is different, I know you probably already…

Does your doctor think you are focusing too much on weight and that is contributing to your anxiety and depression? Are you already at a healthy weight and they are concerned about obsessive behavior? Exercise is an extremely helpful tool in fighting anxiety/depression. Refer your doctor to the book Spark. It's written by…

Have you had your thyroid tested lately? One of the symptoms of low thyroid is low energy and brain fog.

Well OP claimed they didn't have time for more. Anyways, calories in...calories out. Eat less, work out more, doesn't matter, calorie a calorie. I didn't say to stop eating a la Barbie...
