Thanks for the feedback everyone! This is really helpful. @jacksonpt- agreed that gender is irrelevant. I should have left the “for women” out of the title and said ‘total body workout’ instead. For modifying a barbell routine, (e.g. stronglifts 5x5) is anything “missing” by modifying to dumbells? I’ve read that dumbells…

I highly recommend checking out Value Village, Goodwill or some other used clothing store. You can inexpensively get a few key pieces that fit and look great now and you won't mind shrinking out of in a few months.

I find reading through the success stories on a daily basis to be very motivating. I lost 30 lbs in 4 months and then only 2-3 lbs in the subsequent two months. Part of the slow down was a conscious change to increase my calories slightly and focus on lifting weights, but Thanksgiving and holiday baking did not help. I…

I just found the online race results from a 5K I ran 2 weeks ago, and I placed 10th in my division! I've dropped 6 minutes off my 5K time since June.

Don't be hesitant about starting, just dive in and listen to your body. I started out with 2-3 days in a row, then a day off, then another 2-3 days. I never seem to do more than 6 days in a row. One rest day a week helped my muscles recover and allowed me to push a little harder in the next workout. start now!

Hi, I did couch to 5k last April/May and wholeheartedly loved it. I was essentially sedentary for the past 4-5 years. It was a great way to build up my cardio endurance and leg strength without getting myself injured or discouraged. Loads of people here have had success with the program. I did not lose one pound during…

Congratulations! I dropped over 2 mins from my 5K time recently, it is such a great feeling and the scale just doesn't capture that kind of progress.
-
Thanks for posting your story- it is always a great reminder and motivator for me. I just finished stage I of NROLFW, and although I've dropped maybe 2 lbs, my pants are much looser and my legs look much better.
-
Congratulations! Very impressive to see you stick it out til the end. As I get closer to my goal, the losses have slowed down and it is hard to stay motivated.

5'6" weight: 163 bust: 38-39" waist: 31" hips: 41.5" started lifting weights regularly about a month ago, and have lost 0.5" on my hips even though weight hasn't changed by more than a pound.

I found the plyometrics (jump training) in level 3 the biggest change from level 2. Maybe because I am just not that coordinated, it was challenging for me to keep up and maintain the cardio intensity. The armwork with weights in L2 was way harder for me than in L3.

I just had the same thing happen this morning! I put my boots on for the first time since losing about 25lbs, and they were no longer tight on the calves. Super cool feeling.... Congrats to you!

Here are my 30DS results- Day 1 was August 21st, Day 30 was October 6th. During that time, I did 30DS plus an occasional run (3 miles), working out an average of 5 days a week. My net calories were 1200-1300. I’m 5’6” and just bought my first pair of size 10 pants since the previous millennium. Oh, and the pants I am…
