Congratulations. Like others have said be prepared for anything. When my girls were born we tried to rework our exercise around them more, long walks or bike rides worked great. Once they were old enough for solid food we ground up what we were eating and made our own baby food. This has paid off as we have kids who will…

When looking at your cell phone pics and find shots of yourself taken by your 5 year old. I swear they can make a supermodel look fat.

Beat me to it. The trick is to be distracted just before hitting the ground.

I'm in for 50 again.

Don't worry about one day. Like others have said making your own can help with the craving. My kids and I have made them on the 5 inch crusts that you can buy in the store. The great thing is that you can put on whatever you like and eat the WHOLE pizza without feeling guilty.

I work for the local cooperative extension service. We have nutrition and agriculture educators in our office.

When I heat up my leftover fish someone usually comments on how good my lunch smells. Of course I am in an office with many people who cook and eat healthy real foods.

Take a look at your shoulders, you can definitely see a difference in the muscles and how you are carrying yourself. Doing great, keep it up.

I found that if I find a good bottle of something that I like (brandy or vodka) I will make myself space out the bottle over a couple of weeks (can't afford to buy another). If I keep cheap stuff in the house to make mixed drinks I will go overboard quickly. This has worked for me and I only have a couple of drinks a week…

Take the family out to a local park. Hiking, walking, or just playing with the kids on the playground is great exercise and quality family time.

The fact that she is aware that she needs to make changes is a great start. My step-son is also 14 and up until recently was not concerned with his weight. Since I started on MFP and have lost weight while still eating the foods that I love he has seen that it is possible and is beginning to watch his portions and has even…

Bruising is not normal. Getting a pack that fits you properly will make a huge difference. When you have a pack that fits properly you will find that you don't even know the weight is there most of the time. Finding a pack is not a quick process of just going in and getting the first one that looks good, you need to try on…

It's been awhile since I have done that kind of trip, wish I had the time for one. I would continue to get in as many hikes as you can over the winter and spring. The biggest thing you will need to prepare for is the increased weight during the backpacking trip. For this I would suggest some day hikes and even an overnight…

WOW a day of riding and great local cheeses, sounds like heaven to me

I would love to support you on your journey. I'll send a friend request today. My wife has been driving for 16 years and is facing the same issue of trying to balance good nutrition and exercise with the reality of living in a truck (5 days a week for her). I am trying to help her come up with a plan to join in this weight…

Looking forward to December, this is my third month and I am sure that I can finally reach my goal of 60 miles this month. Last month I completed my first 5K and look forward to the next one.

Love hunting deer, rabbit, squirrel. Hoping to find some time this year to actually get in the woods. Just a point to the anti-hunters out there, if we don't hunt them for meat they will just overpopulate and end up getting hit by your cars.

I agree with many of the other posts but will add one more personal point. When I was younger I was in good physical condition and played several sports. As I got older and gained weight I was still able to continue hiking with my kids so I was sure that I must still be in good shape even with the extra weight, in my mind…

Now I want to go get a brisket to smoke, I've been thinking about it for weeks and haven't had enough time. I start with a getting a good fire going in my smoker box and bringing the temp up to about 300 - 350 in the cooking area of the grill, once I get the brisket on I try to keep the temp between 225 - 275 for 8 - 10…

I'm in for 60 again. Still haven't met my goals each month but getting closer each time.

I have noticed the same thing after having a couple glasses of wine on weekends. Make sure to drink more water when you are consuming wine and you should still see progress.

Every morning, I only log weight lost when I have seen it gone for more than one day. Fluctuations don't bother me but remind me that I may need to look at my food or hydration a bit closer.

I love their cool lime refresher (it's made with green coffee extract). Venti is about 80 calories. Been staying away from the foods but the holiday season is coming and I know I can't resist the cranberry bars, I'll just have to burn a few more calories to enjoy one.

Agreed, if your going to have beer it might as well be good. Most of the "lower calorie" beers are only 30 - 40 calories lower than the real thing so just have 2 instead of 3 and enjoy.

First rule of not being seen,,,,,, Don't stand up!!

I agree with this post. I have a great cast iron wok that weighs about 20 pounds, I get a strength workout while tossing the stir fry around.
