I am not aware of a maximum limit for fiber....if you aren't expriencing any sort of intestinal distress with your diet, don't fret this. I personally aim for 30-35g/ day of fiber.

birds are fine...some of them even tasty (quail, dove, chicken, turkey)... Snakes bother me.....doesn't matter if they are poisonous or not.

What quantities of protein are you referring to? I've heard of a couple of body builder types experiencing kidney failure that was attributed, at least partially, to their protein intakes....but they were consuming 400gms + a day, which is an insane amount of protein.

I love the stuff. It is, however, very unkind to my blood sugars....which I don't really understand why. yes, it's breaded and fried, but there's simply not that many carbs in the breading when all you eat is 1/2 to 3/4 cup of chopped okra.

I would have that meal as a reward for reaching one of my goals....that way I can still enjoy it occassionally, but not make it a habit. Personally, it would have to be hot wings though....take the coating off the pan kind of hot.

I buy green beans from a site on the web. 50/50 mix of Costa Rican and Colombian. Then roasted to a city+ roast and ground medium fine with a burr grinder. Sadly, the coffee maker is the weak link, but it gets the job done.

Indoor cycling classes....often more of an on bike aerobics class than a true cycling workout. They can be fun and a good change of pace. Also, good way to burn of some energy during the winter months.

I burn calories faster when running. But I can burn a lot more calories biking simply because I can do that for so much longer. I've done an 85 mile ride in the past. I estimate that to be about 2,500 kCals.....my longest run is about 3 miles, or about 300 kCals. Huge difference, but then again we're talking 5 hours verses…

If your going to be in the stone mountain area, let me know. They let walkers in for free (just walking, not park amenities) and the road around the base of the mtn. is a 5 mile loop.

Go to a local bike shop near you. They should be able to set you up with a bike that will fit you properly. If the bike doesn't fit you properly, your likely to not use it...and it could be unsafe. For an entry level, good road bike I'd think you are looking at $600 and up. This will likely have Shimano Sora level…

there's a lot of protein powders available on the market. Most of them probably give you about 20-30 gms of protein per scoop. Some of them taste pretty nasty though, so you have to shop around to find one you like.

seriously, I think you are making a really big deal out of something that is very minor in the scheme of things. As you said, we are all entitled to our opinions....but the way you express them goes a long way in determining how people take what you have to say.

One is not expected to proof every single article we read. The information was generally correct, and still quite useable. This is just my opinion here, but you're making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Carbs, with the exception of fibre, metabolise to sugar (glucose). So, there's really not much difference between the two.

Just remember, the meatheads had to start somewhere too. Also, from my experience, they are usually quite willing to help someone out if that person expresses and interest or desire to improve themselves. Please, don't let them be intimidating to you. They are there for the same reason you are....to get exercise.
