Mine is occasionally brown and I haven't died yet. It is a private well system for the neighborhood so I get a yearly report telling me it is "safe" to drink (from Google, I assume it is iron). I try not to drink it when it is on the darker side but that usually only happens with the hot water, stuff settles on the bottom…

Camping in August. I want to be able to wear my bikini and not be so jiggly.

I don't think anyone is suggesting genetic components violate the laws of physics. Genetics, however, can influence unconscious (instinctual) behavior. Some people are wired to be "movers" and others aren't. NEAT (calories used during non-exercise activity) increases by differing amounts during calorie surplus. One person…

Also, many things that have "sugar" are much more than their sugar content. Blueberries have almost all of their calories from sugars but they also pack a significant amount of fiber and antioxidants.

You might lose 5 lbs okay if you have a significant amount to lose but I wouldn't count on 10.

Children too. I get the 100 calorie bags and the little one is always begging for some.

I would agree with them. We are destructive. We're so destructive they don't need to waste their time or firepower because we're going to extinguish ourselves. We are nowhere near being able to colonize another planet, we don't stand a chance even getting there. If we don't seriously change our ways, we probably don't have…

I think people are better off pursuing what they are good at, rather than what they think they'd like. It would not be a fun place to be if you were terrible at a job you thought you'd love. Whether or not you always like a job you are good at, you probably stand a higher chance of being recognized for doing it well.

I think *maybe* there was a clash between your activity setting and your step counting. A higher activity setting is already giving you more calories and it may have double dipped. Steps shouldn't have give you really any additional calories until you were above your reported activity level.

I will if I'm hungry. I use a Garmin Vivosmart HR, which supposedly underestimates burns. I'm losing just fine.

With myself, usually "sedentary," I don't get very many calories. Even then, it is more than 1200 (I cycle between lose 0.5 lb/week and maintain). I've really found that having an activity tracker to earn more calories helps me better stick with my net calorie goal. I don't pay very much attention to macros but I know my…

I move up to maintenance when I get cravings and lower them again after AF. Otherwise, I'd be miserable. I'm still (averaging, not daily) losing at a very good pace.

There was one study I was reading that some people, when given a calorie surplus, increase the number of calories they burn through non-exercise movement much more than other people. Fidgeting, pacing while on the phone, leg bouncing, ect. There's just an internal, toddler-like drive to never stop moving.

BMI is not a percentage. It is just how much mass you have versus your height. It tells you when you are overweight, not when you're overfat.

6 year old, 2 year old, full time college student, just picked up Shipt (grocery delivery) to earn money in my "free time" (aka, when my husband is home to watch the kids and I want to GTFO of the house).

You don't really have to write down everything you do. That's what the activity level setting is for. The food isn't as bad if you are in the habit of repeating meals. Almost all of my breakfasts are repeats and many of my lunches are Lean Cuisine so I just scan the barcode. The only time I have to keep the app open for…

I thought that was common sense. :D Ask a bunch of 3rd graders how much they love gym, then ask them how much they love recess. When I was little, a lot of the kids tried to skip lunch completely because they were so desperate to go for a run, er, play.

There is a table in my Nutrition book with the "Acceptable Daily Intakes" for some artificial sweeteners. The equivalent of "18 to 19" diet colas per day is the aspartame "limit". ("Limit" is in quotes because it doesn't mean higher is dangerous, just that up to that amount is accepted as safe. I'm not sure they'd get many…

March of Dimes: If you’re overweight or obese during pregnancy, you’re more likely to have these complications:* High blood pressure, preeclampsia and blood clotting problems. High blood pressure is when the force of blood against the walls of the blood vessels is too high. Preeclampsia is a condition that can happen after…

We may share 98% of our DNA with chimps but we are equally similar to bonobos, the species that considers sex to be the answer to every question.

I'm lactose intolerant and I hate almond milk so my drink of choice is neither. I drink green tea (made with a kettle and tea bags) and use the liquid Crystal Light in tap water (our tap water is rust colored but I get the yearly notice saying it is safe to drink).

Based on your waist/hip ratio (0.825) I would guess you'd want to shrink your waist more than your butt. Women should have close to a 0.7 waist/hip ratio. There is supposed to be a size difference!

Anything prepared (even just cut up) usually costs more. If you can get to a low-cost grocery store, you can get a bag of apples for less than $1/lb. If you can get a small freezer, you can add a cup of frozen mixed vegetables (store brand and bulk) into ramen noodles, not using the whole flavor packet to reduce sodium.…

If you are getting your essential fatty acids and your essential amino acids, 65% is the technically at the upper limit of AMDRs (acceptable macro-nutrient distribution range).

I eat what I want every day. What's the point in eating something you don't enjoy at all?

That sounds normal to me. If you lose fat and gain water simultaneously, your scale weight will fall more slowly (or even rise). Once you shed the water, your scale weight will "catch up" to your fat loss.

Everyday living is a commitment. There is no reloading from your last save, everything is immediately sent to the cloud. Quitting your weight loss journey (again) will extend your unhealthiness and unhappiness into the finite years of your life. I don't think you'd like to grow old thinking of how much time you wasted…

I don't know about reductions but I've heard of women losing nipple sensation after breast enlargement.

I don't lose weight for the two weeks after ovulation. I just don't. It is too difficult to maintain my deficit during that half of my cycle so I set my calories back up to maintenance. Soon after my cycle begins again, I hit a record low weight. I think I really do lose fat during that time (higher calorie needs have been…
